    10.25" Square Swivel Replacement for Recliner: a Perfect 10!The 10.25" Square Swivel Replacement for recliner, if you will excuse the pun, is a perfect 10! I believe it is far superior to the original swivel. Having said that, however, it would have been much easier to install if it had come with a set of instructions. The installation was much more difficult that I had imagined; however, if you're smarter than the average swivel replacement, you can overcome a lot and be successful...over a period of time. 5360 degree swivel and very heavy duty.This is a very sturdy and good swivel. Buyer should be aware it rotates 360 degrees and has no spring back action if you want a replacement to a bar stool swivel that rotates back to center. I still can use it and am confident it will last many years because it is heavy gauge and has more ball bearings than the one it replaced. 5Saved my chairOriginal factory bearing in a swivel rocking chair fell apart in fewer than 3 months. This is much better. Was incredibly easy to install, had more bearings than factory original making it smoother and sturdier. Saved me from having to replace the entire chair. Very happy with this product. 5My Favorite Recliner is Fixed!Our swivel recliner bit the dust. After 10+ years of abuse by kids and supporting large adults, it's been showing lots of wear. For about a year it's been swiveling too freely. And yesterday, there was a pop and ball bearings rolled onto the ground.I flipped the chair over and removed the four bolts holding the previous square swivel to the chair and the four bolts holding that to the base. The problem with the original square swivel was pretty obvious. The bolt holding it together had pulled the nut and (too big) washer through the hole. I thought it MIGHT be possible to replace just the bolt and washer, but the hole was messed up too and I saw this square swivel was fairly affordable on Amazon and was even available Same Day Prime for me. So I ordered it.It came later in the day, and was quick and easy to install. The eight bolts took less than 5 minutes to reinstall. Like other reviewers have observed, this appears to be a higher quality square swivel than the one that the manufacturer used. It feels very solid and the bolt assembly and the hole it goes through looks like it'll hold up much longer.I'd MUCH rather spend a little bit of money (and a few minutes of labor) repairing my favorite recliner than try to find a new one. 5Very well madeI used this to make my 72 inch cut Ferris Lawn Mower have a swivel seat. I only have a left leg and I did this so I could more easily use a weed eater while I move about on the machine. This allows me to more easily trim from the mower. I had to match and drill for the already female receiver nuts in the seat and then also drill new holes for the mounting to the frame. This done, the swivel has proved to be of high quality and very sturdy. It is well made and would fulfill any requirement where it can be mounted. The bearing is heavy duty and would handle any reasonable weight, probably up to 500 pounds. 5Love the swivel chairI have an expensive Lazy Boy in the living room with a swivel. I had a small one in my motorhome that I moved into my bedroom. I bought this for that one. I cut out the round base, drilled the eight holes, and bolted it to the swivel, screwed on a couple support boards to the bottom of the chair and cut off the legs that stuck out the back. After that I bolted the swivel assembly to the chair. It s wonderful. Anyone with minimal skills should be able to do it. 5AwesomeThis was awesome. I have a perfectly goid recliner and the swivel started losing bearings. I was ready to buy a new recliner and could not find one that swivels. The lady said they can add swivel to any recliner, thats when it ocurred to me that i could replace the part. Found this one with good reviews. Received it next day and installed it in 10 minutes. Just save $800. 5Just saved my favorite chair.I was ready to toss my fave reclining chair since the ball bearings decided to slowly come out of their original swivel thingy. The hubby spent about 25 min replacing the swivel thingy.The new one was a bit finicky to fit properly but hubby didn't curse once, so it could not have been all that difficult to do.We now have a perfect chair once again, HHJJ 5Excellent replacement.Excellent replacement for our swivel recliner. Original had plastic retainer around ball bearings that basically fell apart in a little over one year. This replacement has no plastic retainer and all ball bearings with very little gap between them. Easy to change if you pay attention. An easy 30 minute replacement, took me a little longer because I wasn't paying attention to the easiest way to get the old one off, and I wasn't wearing my glasses. 5This square swivel plate did the job!We were given a used, but very nice, swivel rocker/recliner a few years ago. However, over time, the chair got so it would spin so actually could have become dangerous if it were spinning as one attempting to sit down. A previous reviewer said he replaced the plate in 5 minutes. It actually took my husband quite a bit more time than that but still not a difficult job. The chair is now just fine and like new again. The $40 investment in the replacement plate was money well spent since replacing the chair would have cost at least $300. 5
