    Its good.Works good for bedroom doors. If your kids get up a million times before falling asleep, this is great because it tells them hey you can't get out so you have to go back to sleep. Well works for my kids anyway. Now she doesn't even get up. She sees that the lock is on so she knows there's no point and goes back to sleep.. however this thing is not very strong. I have one on the babys room so my 2 year old doesn't go in there to wake him up when he's asleep and she doesn't even try to now but at first she did and it barely cracked the door and closed it back, it was loud if that makes sense. I have a different kind of lock on the outside door and the door doesn't move at all no matter how hard you pull. I'm pretty sure if I were to pull harder on these locks it would break. All and all its good for bedrooms. Definitely not for outside doors. But it worked great for what I needed. 4DisappointedI watched the video review of this item and coupled with the fact that this is listed as an "Amazon choice" item I thought this was a good buy.It took my 3yr about 5 minute to realize that if you wiggle the door enough the lock slides open. In addition, within 14 days the one I had installed cracked in two with the extrnsion wand getting caught in the door as my daughter rattled the door open. This bent the wand. Which wasn't much of a loss considering every time I used the wand it felt like it was going to snap in half.Like most people the option to return this item is disabled. I asked Amazon about this, since it's fulfilled by Amazon and a Amazon choice item I couldn't imagine why it couldn't be returned. The very nice CSR informed me it's for safety reasons. Since it's for childproofing they can't risk sending the returned item on to another person.I really would not advise anyone to purchase these. 1Not recommended from this vendor due to lack of second wand in the current packagingUnlike when I purchased this in the past, the vendor's current packaging now only includes ONE wand per door lock. This means that unless you happen to be tall enough to reach the lock you can only open it from one side, unless, of course, if you can reach it. But even if you can reach it and somehow slide it with fingers only it is difficult. Since most people can't reach it at all without the wand it is definitely not from a practical sense operable from either side despite the description. This is the worst kind of cheap money saving nonsense and with what they charge for this item I think they can easily spend an extra 2 pennies and include a wand for each side of each lock like I have purchased in the past. It is cheap plastic to begin with, so this sort of thing is really hard to believe. I hate cheapskates, so I sent it back. 1NOT Eligible for returns, even though product page says that it is.NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURNS despite it clearly stating "Free Returns" at the top of the item page next to the price. This is current as of today, 9/11/2017.These items won't work on our doors without some sanding, possible chiseling, and repainting of the sanded/chiseled areas, because our bathroom doors fit too snugly in their openings. That's too much work for a cheap plastic product that may or may not last, and may or may not be suitable for us once the work is done.I saw the warning about the item being ineligible for returns in some of the reviews, but ordered it anyway because it clearly states "Free Returns" at the top of the item page. I assumed the returns issue had changed since the reviews were posted.I average about two items per week ordered from Amazon and can't remember the last time I've had a problem, but I am NOT happy about this. Long story short, he found all he had to do was push harder to break it. He broke both the same day :( Ordering the metal version now! I suggest anyone who is going to buy these, just buy the metal versions because these are too weak. They are more expensive(29.99 for 3) and you cant buy them individually. But to me its well worth having to chase the kids out of places constantly. 3Works well but I did not like the installation instructionsIt works well. I'm not sure how I thought it would install but I read everything and was confused when I learned I had to drill into my doorjam to install this product. I get it, I don't see how else it could attach, but I thought it would be magical and instead I had to drill into something that has to be filled before I move. But at least it gets the job done.Also, the instructions didn't clearly tell me to make sure I can latch the door with it before I screw it into the door jam. I screwed it in and it's a little too far out, so once I "lock" the door shut I can't click the door so my kids can pull it back and forth. I made a second hole where it is at the right distance, and once it is slid to the latched position the door is also latched shut and the kids have an easier time understanding this and not pulling on the door. 4BEST lock to keep little ones safe!I purchased one of these door locks about a year and a half ago when our oldest son first transitioned into his "big boy" bed. It was great to know that should he wake in the middle of the night and sneak out of his bed, that he would be safe in his room and we wouldn't have to worry about him going outside or playing with knobs on the stove in the kitchen. We do use a video monitor, but it's always a good idea to be extra careful because sometimes you just never know (power goes out and the monitor doesn't work or for some rare occasion that we didn't hear and didn't wake up in time).We just moved to a new house across country and this was the first purchase I made. Now we have two boys (1 and 3) and these locks are awesome! We have them on the boys rooms and our home office and will soon be adding a couple more, one for the pantry in the kitchen! They fit all of the doors very well and we haven't had any issues. I'm 5'1" and my husband is 6'4" and they work well for both of us. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to reach the first one we got but it was no problem at all. The little handle is at the top of both the inside and outside of the door which is really nice. Sometimes I'll take a nap with my son and it's good to know that should he sneak out while I'm in there, he's still safe. I also like that they are clear. You honestly don't really even notice them unless you are looking for them so they blend in very well.This is an amazing invention and product! I've recommended it to many mom friends. This is a great door lock that is installed above eye level so it's not very noticeable. One of the nicest features about this lock is that it can be unlocked from either side of the door. Great simple design! I would love to see this product in a brown color to blend in even more with the door. 5I don't know about childproof but they work great for cats.I don't know about childproof but they work great for cats. Our Savannah cats are smart enough and tall enough to pull the handle and open the bedroom doors (where the outside pet door/flaps are located). These laches are simple and completely stymie them. They are lightweight and easy to install and operate. I countersunk the pegs and ran the screw in from there to make the locked mode stronger. I would hesitate to trust these with strong or determined toddlers; it seems like repeated hard shoves would overpower them. The description gives the door thickness they fit and states that they won't fit external doors or sliders and a few other doors the Amazon Dummies tried them on. But on the appropriately sized doors, they drop over the top and slide easily into lock or unlock mode. Four stars because they are somewhat flimsy. 4Garbage, and not able to returnI had an older version of this product which worked for us through 2 children, but finally broke the other day. I ordered a new set only to find that the quality is vastly inferior to the original version. The plastic is now very thin and bendable. My 3 year old easily pushed the door open, right through this thing.... Also, the included wands are much smaller than those pictured in the description and my wife cannot reach. On top of all of this, you cannot return this item even though it says it is eligible for returns! i understand that amazon cannot re-sell a used item that is for a child, but when the product is defective, why wouldn't the company accept a return? LAME! do not buy. 1
