Customer Reviews

Great, but be careful of rain water.I really liked these until it rained. Although advertised as indoor/outdoor one of the 4 units I purchased stopped working. I opened the case and found it was filled with water. The water apparently damaged the inside circuitry and it no longer works even with new batteries.. I contacted Mr. Beams customer support and was promptly sent a replacement. 4fab motion-sensor path lightsfew of these sprinkled along dark sections of night walkways around your house will permanently solve walking-from-your-car-with-groceries problem. i am such a fan of motion activated lights period. i have cheaper ones such as these Mr. Beams MB702 Wireless Motion-Sensing Mini Stick-Anywhere LED Nightlights, Small, White, 2-Pack sprinkled inside my house - for example in bathroom set on low surfaces - so i never have to switch a switch or have a bright overhead light jar me. love all the options of length of time on per trigger, brightness, & low-mode constant dot light. i use different setting combos in different locations. one i have on little path to exit property, i have at lowest all-around settings with no constant locator light because i don't want to attract passersby to the path. ones nearer my house i have constant locator light on so i head in the right direction in the dark. regardless, they use little energy, & it's a long time to need to change batteries. i, like probably you, am enamored of idea of solar-powered ones, but many places i want a light are shaded in all or part of daytime. 5If you are tired of poor performing Solar path lightsIf you are tired of poor performing Solar path lights, these might be a good buy for you. Rather than solar with 1 or 2 low capacity rechargeable AA cells, they use 3 alkaline C cells. Since they are not on all night battery life is great. Easy to set up, but there are just 2 on time settings, short and long. Short seems to be more than adequate for walkways at night. The light assembly is removable from the holder. Not sure if this feature is of much use. In fact, I wonder if I'll be picking up the lights all time after light bumps. The light can be wall mounted too. There are 2 shortcomings in my opinion. The mounting stake is too short. The light ends up just above the grass which greatly reduces the lit area. A 2 piece stake should be included. The light aims downward and the housing is not reflective. This means the brightness diminishes quickly with the distance from the light. On the plus side, this is the first outside light of this type I've bought with a gasketed battery door. The door attaches with 2 easy to access screws. This should keep moisture out which will prolong the life. 3Two thumbs up for these nifty lights!Love these lights! They are exactly what I needed to light a dark pathway where solar won't work because the area is shaded most of the day and I didn't want to go through the hassle of putting in low-voltage lights. I thought I'd break the bank buying C cell batteries but hopefully they will last a long time. I have them set on low glow so there is always a faint light present at night and then they light up bing, bing, bing, one after the other as someone comes up the path. And then after a brief period, they go off in reverse order. The first night I walked up and down the path 5 times just to see them work. I am easily entertained. :) I ended up buying six but as someone else pointed out, buy them in groups of 2 and you'll pay a lot less than you would for a group of 6. UPDATE: After 4 months, 5 of the lights are working great but one of the lights isn't working well, despite new batteries. I contacted Mr. Beams directly through their website and they responded immediately and are sending a replacement light. This is topnotch customer service!! 5Wireless solution.I wanted to light the walkway to my hottub but I didn't want to run wires through my brick work. These provided a great solution. Easy to mount and work only when they detect your movement. I have them set to turn off after 3 minutes so the batteries don't drain. They use 3 C batteries and they're still working fine after about 4 months. I also have them along my driveway so I can see when backing into my garage. Again they only turn on when they pick up my vehicles movement. 5Light My WayThese are great little path lights. They give off a nice clean white light, and the sensors are very sensitive. They light up a small area, about a 3 foot arc, so the closer you place them to the edge of your path the better. The stakes are nice and long and stick into the ground firmly.Another nice feature with these lights is that you can unclip them from their housings and screw them to a wall, post, or stairway if you want. Very versatile. The light heads slide down onto their stakes, and can be swiveled from side to side. They seem to work well in my dark front yard, but a passing car can sometimes activate them. Wind can also turn them on occasionally if you have shrubs or plants nearby that rustle in the wind, but they shut off after 30 to 40 seconds.I got these to light my front sidewalk path, and to also to safely illuminate a raised hump in the concrete to reduce the risk of tripping. These seem to do the job pretty well. I am using two lights, spaced about 8 feet apart but I may add more later to improve the lighting along other parts of the path. Nice design, and a great alternative to solar lights where you have a north facing area or shaded gardens that don't get enough sunlight to charge up. These use 3 C batteries, and they fit inside the lamp heads. 4Lots to like about this productBought a pair in 2015 and installed them outdoors as spot path lights. They require three "C" batteries, but the batteries lasted over a year (your mileage may vary of course depending on how many times the lights are tripped by motion.) No problems leaving out all winter in the weather, and both daylight and motion sensing work as advertised. Light is not super bright but adequately illuminates the paths, and the motion-sensing (though not tune-able) seems appropriately sensitive and is quite wide-angled. I'd give this product 5 stars but I'm deducting one since one of the units' motion-sensor seems to have died (after more than a year, so clearly out of warranty.) If the motion sensor dies the unit never comes on and is useless. Still, I will buy this product again -- or at least put it on my Wish List. 4Excellent quality, just not bright enough.. This was my second purchase of these lights. I do not have a power source outdoors so I needed a battery-operated light. I came back and purchased two more of these because I feel they are such good quality. My first purchase of two lights has been outside for over a year and they still work fine. The batteries lasted a year too. My complaint about these lights however, is that they are not bright enough which is why I found it necessary to add two more. The motion sensor turns the lights on as I approach. They show me where the path is. They do not do a great job of lighting the path. If I placed one every 2 or 3 feet it might be adequate but these lights are a bit expensive for that. If you just need a light to show you where the door is it's fine. If you need to actually light up the sidewalk you're going to need several. One light every 2 or 3 feet is likely what you would need if like me you live in a very dark area with no street lighting. 3Super bright - 3 times brighter than comparably priced solar lights - motion sensor works like a charmI have tons of Mr. Beams lights and thus far have not been disappointed in any of them. These did not disappoint. While it might be nice to get the solar ones and not worry about batteries, these are 3 times brighter than most solar path lights. I maybe didn't look around a lot, but I don't think discrete and bright solar directional path lights exist. I am happy to have these actually lighting our very dark path on the side of our house - where I need real light....not effectively solar glow sticks. I am planning on getting NIMH batteries to keep these lit nicely during the cold months. I will try to update my review on their winter performance / performance over 6-9 months. 5Durable. Reliable. Bright. Doesn't waste batteries.I really like these lights....they're very durable and dependable. We had some coyotes in the neighborhood two years ago.... was worried about my outdoor cat....I got some of these for the backyard, so I could keep a better eye on what was outside.I wanted something that was bright and dependable, and battery operated. These absolutely fit the bill. I've had the same C cell batteries in them for almost 2 years.... and I have not had to replace them yet.Theses lights are outside in the weather. No problem. I've had an excellent experience with these. I'm actually ordering more of them right now, I'm going to put more in the yard...so I decided to stop and do the review.Side note: I also have an indoor staircase that was a little bit dark and I didn't want to pay an electrician to wire up some lights.I got some indoor Mr. Beams lights, which are very similar to these. They add extra light to the staircase and make it nice and safe. These have to light up quite a bit- I use the staircase a lot - and still, the c cell batteries have lasted almost a year to date. This company makes an excellent product.... and you won't waste a bunch of money/time constantly replacing the batteries.BTW, I'm just a guy that likes to review Amazon stuff sometimes. No one pays me for reviews. I have gotten help from reviews that people post over the years, so I'm just adding my input for the common good. 5
