Customer Reviews

Had to modifyDid not work at first. After reading the reviews was able to modify the hose to work. What a waste of my time on a Saturday....Thank you for the review below you saved my BBQInitially, the hose did not let gas from my 20 lb propane tank reach the burners on my Coleman NXT 200 grill; while a 1 lb disposable canister worked fine. It was puzzling why the canister fit fine but the hose and big tank did not. However, after digging around for answers on the web, it turned out the remedy actually was to modify the grill fitting to better fit the hose, i.e., the pin in the grill's female fitting is slightly too short and thus does not reach deep enough into the hose end to allow gas flow. I fixed this by placing a 10 mm socket into the grill's female fitting and turned the pin/nut counter-clockwise, loosening the nut (that is part of the pin assembly) by about a quarter turn, thus in effect lengthening the pin just a little to make up for the shortfall in the hose end. Then when I tested the hose again, gas successfully flowed to the burners. No leaks. I also checked to make sure my disposable canister was still a good fit after this modification, and it worked fine and did not leak. While my repair worked, I have to give the hose a one-star review for forcing me to do work that should have been done by the manufacturer to begin with. I don't know if Coleman screwed up making the hose or their grill, or both, in this case. Hopefully they will sort it out in future. 1Hose works out of the box!I, like many other reviewers, was a bit apprehensive about ordering this hose as the one end didn't look like the end of the hose on my grill that connects to the propane tank. That is because this hose screws counter-clockwise in the inside of the nozzle on the tank, not on the outside like the hose from my grill. I have added a couple of pictures to illustrate what I mean. A great hose...if you read several of the other reviews here, you'll know it's worth it. 5Easy High Pressure Propane AdapterI have a small propane pizza oven that arrived all set up for small canisters of propane, but I was running through them too quickly. I decided to purchase this hose and adapter for the more standard 20 lb tank. Because propane is tricky, I went with the Coleman brand since I trust it entirely. It works flawlessly.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann 5The hose will pay for it self in not time at all. This hose will allow you to utilize a 20lb (5gal) or bigger propane tank instead of the expensive 16oz tanks. This hose will pay for it self after the first propane tank you go through. Tip. always purge the hose before you disconnect it so you don't get liquid propane on your hands. You can do this buy turning off the valve on the propane tank and turning the grill on till the flames go out. Also on the fitting they do not need to be tighten with a wrench just by hand. On the tank side there is a O-ring and on the grill side there is a Teflon o-ring seat. 5Fitting pulls off easily. Where is quality controlEnd wasn't crimp. Fitting pulls off easily. Where is quality control. Now I find out it's not returnable. There were cheaper ones but I wanted a good name brand. If I had not noticed this prior to hooking it up and pressurizing the hose, this could have been disaster causing injury. Amazon should not allow sellers to not take returns for bad craftsmanship. It shows the seller has no confidence in their products. I have used Coleman in the past and have noticed their products are not as well built as they used to be. Very sad. I wish I could give them minus stars, it what they deserve.I highly DO NOT recommend this product. 1Used properly it won't activate the safety device that will slow flow hose syndromeIf you use this on a portable grill pay attention to the fact that if u turn off the propane you have to wait until the pressure trickle through the safety devices or it will fail. Since my grill is made for the green disposable bottles that I used to leave on I just leave the propane tank on and use the grill control. If the tank connected directly to grill works and the hose only trickles gas to burner then the hose safety is triggered. You have to replace the hose. 4Bad fit for my Coleman NXT 200 grill, but I fixed it.Initially, the hose did not let gas from my 20 lb propane tank reach the burners on my Coleman NXT 200 grill; while a 1 lb disposable canister worked fine. This hose screws into the inside threads of a standard BBQ propane tank, not the outside threads like most BBQ grills. Not a big deal as the newer style tank valves have the inside threads. The other end is for your Coleman style connectors like for a blow torch, Coleman camp grill, or little table top lanterns or haters. Good solid connections and seals. And, I got it quick with standard shipping 5We have a Weber Performer, which cooks with charcoal ...We have a Weber Performer, which cooks with charcoal but has a propane powered starter system. I got tired of buying the 1 lb. propane cylinders, since we grill several days a week, year around. The grill end of this hose threaded directly into the same fitting used by the 1 lb. cylinders, no adapter needed-see the photo attached to this review. 5
