Customer Reviews
Looks to be more cheaply made than the pictured hammerQC at Estwing seems pretty shoddy. The hammer looks like it will work just fine, but the forging is poorly finished, the logo and label is only halfway stamped and stained, there is a crooked and just poorly finished transfer for the "DFH24" on the head of the hammer. None of this really matters when your using it if the head hold up ok, just not what I was expecting compared to the picture currently on the listing.3Dependable supplier....
This is a great tool, it worked well for laminate and has a good weight and feel to it.
5Great Mallet, But Faces are the SAMEThis is a very nice rubber mallet. It has substantial weight to it. Much heavier than the last mallet I owned. I am going to enjoy using this.I took off one star because I wanted the mallet with different ends, with one harder than the other. I practiced some with this, and verified the ends are both made of a semi-hard rubber. They are the same, except their color.4Exactly what I wantedNot a lightweight dollar store mallet. wooden Handel feels smooth and rubber ends in perfect condition. I'm pleased with the purchase.5Estwing Quality and ReliabilityThis is my first hammer of this type. I have had a 3# rubber mallet forever that I have used and used but when I was looking at installing a small area of flooring floor, the mallet didn t have enough zing. Wait two days and UPS brings me this hammer.I should back up and say that I am a huge Estwing fan and am generally under the opinion that Estwing products are better than others brands.Sure there are premium brands like Martinez or stiletto who make a great framing hammer, but Estwing makes several products all of which are well built, economical and can be depended on for a long time.So when it came time to buy a mallet for the floor it was a no brainer. The hammer is well balanced and the wood handle is a good length and well made. So far the hammer has meat every expectation and I trust that it will for many years to come.5A pleasure to use - USA qualityManufactured in the USA - you get every bit of what you pay for - I highly recommend. I use mine for wood flooring installation.5Good dealVery nice tool for the cost. Not a commercial grade unit but very substantial for all residential use. Nicely priced. I particularly appreciate the length of the handle and the quality of the wood - nicely done.5Great Quality
High quality product. Extremely well made.
5Great QualityThis is a great hammer for the price. It s just packed with quality in both the head and the handle. I am now determined to collect the other sizes of their hammers for an entire set in my workshop! I am certainly going to buy again, great product5Good Mallets & HammersLove the hammer! It compliments perfectly the duties of my lighter hammer (Mallet), a Vaughn. I learned of the excellence, the great quality of these two companies, Estwing and the Vaughn from my "The Family Handyman" magazine. I've since than purchased several more Estwing and Vaughn hammers, framing hammers, etc., both manufactured in the USA. Also purchased an excellent Milwaukee 22 oz framing hammer, however I discovered it was manufactured in Taiwan. May use it as a Christmas present for friends who enjoy working with good tools.5GTG
So far its looking like a nice mallet. Both ends fairly soft. Hickory handle is lightweight, but hard.
5High qualitySolid tool. Used to set my laminate flooring. Handle is perfect size and it packs a punch. USA made and solid construction like most Estwing products.5NICE WEIGHT
