    You don't need to clean these, just throw away and replace.These filters are good for homes with pets. I notice much less dust and cat hair since I started using this filter instead of the expensive "permanent" filter I bought from Sears a few years ago. It needed to be cleaned periodically with a hose and brush. The last time I started to clean it, and thought about the wet mess that would result, I just threw it in the recycle bin. These always go in the recycle bin and don't have to be cleaned.5helped with dust in my condoThese filters work well with my HVAC system. I honestly feel the filters also help with the dust in my condo. On the cardboard edge, I write the date I put them in to help remind me when to replace them.5Can't Live without Filtrete's. . . I have used Filtrete filters for almost 2 decades and think the are the best. These are a lower rating (1000) than my usual purchase (1500) and think they will be fine with a activated charcoal prefilter (perhaps I'll add a very thin layer of AC window unit foam pre-filter that washable to aid in large particle dust collection). The HVAC man suggested I step down because he thought it would be 'more efficient for the motor' (since the landlord was concerned about it's longevity). The HVAC guys always say that though. Overall the condo is not very dusty so I'm giving the 1000 a try. I found a chart that compared it to MERV ratings and it was 11, whereas the 1500 was rated at 12--so not much difference if it's accurate. 5Best Balance Of Performance & Price Of The 3M Filtrete Micro Filter Lineup The improvement of air quality, when switching from the entry-level Filtrete micro filters is quite noticeable. This filter does a great job of filtering debris and some odors, delivering a better return on investment than the highest-level Filtrete micro filters (which seem only marginally better for almost twice the price). These filters seem to be the best balance between quality and price, in the 3M Filtrete lineup. 5Appears to Work WellI struggle with making concrete statements when it comes to air filters because without proper air quality testing it is very hard to know if you are getting your money's worth. My family suffers from allergies, so we bought these and they get very dirty after a few months so I assume they are doing what they are supposed to be doing.5Great filtersThese are great filters. They captured a lot of dust and dirt and definitely helped cut down on the amount of dust in our home. They fit perfectly, unlike another brand I bought that claimed to be my size but was at least 1/2 inch short on length and width, and we all know an extra 1/2 inch can make a big difference. I will be buying these again.5Best Filters Ever!These are awesome! I ve had many other filter brands but these are the only ones that actually work for me and my mom! Our allergies are out of this world and she is also allergic to cats which we have two of as well as a dog! This is the only filter that we can actually breath without issues in our home. Yes having 3 animals we have to change it a lot more than most homes might that don t have animals but it is well worth the money! Also so easy to change! They just slide right in and out without any issues! These things rock!5Not as good as they used to be I've been using these filters for quite a few years. I previously used 1500s but decided to back down to these in order to increase airflow. They work pretty good except I'm not sure I'd let one go three months as advertised. I usually change them every month to six weeks. I guess your results will depend on where you live and how much dust is in your house. I've noticed, though, that a year ago they changed the quality of these a bit. They don't seem as sturdy as they used to be. The box they ship in has also changed. They used to ship in a high quality store display box and I never received any damaged filters. My most recent order, however, was different. Every filter in the box was damaged. The box these ship in now doesn't offer enough protection to guarantee the filters will survive UPS handling unscathed. Until 3M packages these in a sturdier box or Amazon double boxes them, I won't be ordering any more. As much as these cost, it's not worth the risk. 3Open the Multipack and Check the Filters I re-ordered these filters after having had a great experience with my first order and it seems as though there was a total bait and switch somewhere along the way. The external label was correct but what was inside was off-brand filter that was actually two filters, a small one and a large one that together made up the size I was ordering. I did not discover this issue until I used up my remaining filter and it was past the return/exchange window. I love Filtrete filters but will not assume I get what I ordered when purchasing a multipack and will be making sure of it in the future! 1Nice to have a 2-pack Living in Florida where it is obviously very hot much of the year, I feel like I change my air conditioning filter constantly. I have always purchased them at the grocery store or someplace like that, but I found these here on Amazon and they seemed cheaper, since it's a 2-pack. And while I've never really paid attention to what brand of filter I buy, I believe Filtrete is at least one of the brands that I have purchased from a brick and mortar store.I have used both of the filters in this pack and am ready to order more. I'm happy with them. I don't know anything technical about filters. Matter of fact, I rely on the writing on the side of the filter telling me which way to put it into the unit (it usually has an arrow showing which way the air flow goes). With these filters, that writing wasn't on the shorter side of the filter like I am used to, so at first I didn't think it was there and wasn't totally sure which way to put it in, but I found that information instead on the longer side of the filter.The only thing that could make these better would be to have each filter in its own separate plastic bag. When I open the bag to use the first filter, the other filter is exposed, and since I generally keep the extras in my garage until I'm ready to use it, and my garage is filthy, I have to work to keep that filter clean until use. But really, that's not a huge issue. I'm pleased with the filters and the price for a 2-pack. I'll continue to purchase! 4Okay filterArrived on time and in new condition. Had to order in a rush because "lifetime" filter had exceeded its lifetime and needed immediate replacement. It was a very tight fit (didn't have to cut it like some said they had to do) but it was a little bit of a struggle to get it secured. Airflow is good - but I think these are a little too high of a MERV rating for my furnace blower.Probably won't purchase again because I will be ordering a new "lifetime" filter as I find those more convenient and a better overall value.46 of 6 damaged out of box Filter arrived in huge box without any damaged and shipping box arrived in perfect condition.However, all six filters damaged out of box and already damaged before packing. 1Rated 4.6 stars for a reason!! I give it a 5!!A 4.6 is pretty Good, I give it a 5!!!I recently had a new central air unit installed, forgetting to even put a new filter in. As a 3 dog home, and some one with terrible sinuses (2 surgeries to open them) I do all I can to breath easy.Air ionizer, Honeywell air purifier, and got wondering why my sinuses started acting up at night......the old filter!These came today, I came right home, replaced the old (covered in layers or dust and hair and whatever else)Put the new one in it's place. After a good 5-6 hours, the house smells better, and the air is simply, easier to breath. I found my new go to!The air is just fresh and clear.Great price, Great filter.5Good filters but way too expensive These are great filters and I have been buying them for several years now. I last purchased a two-pack of the 20 x 20 size this past June 2017 for $16.97. The price is now $30.11? That's an increase of over 77 percent in just over six months. The filters aren't THAT good. I just ordered Aerostar Merv 11 filters instead ($6.10 ea. vs. $15.06 ea. for the 3M) and I will not be ordering the 3M filters again. 3Perfect balance between air flow and cleanliness. Great filter. After speaking with the HVAC specialist that services my system I feel comfortable using the 1000 as it balances air flow and cleanliness.Pros-collects dust, dander and cat hair (3cats)-lasts anywhere between 2-3 months-arrow clearly indicates which direction to place tge filter (arrow towards furnance)Cons-filters are not individually wrapped (unused filters are stored in the garage where they can get dirty prior to use)If this review helped please leave a like. 5Very effective, but be aware!These are great filters but like others had noted, they fill up fast... In my case, about 2 months MAX! If you are running a humidifier like I do during the winter months, they will clog faster due to the higher moisture content in the air.5Used to be a good filterI have a strip of cardboard on top of my water heater. On it, I wrote DO NOT BUY THESE. It is for another brand of filter. When I used that brand, the cardboard frame would soften, and the partially collapsed filter would be near impossible to remove from the duct. In the process of removing/destroying the filter, much dust would fall off in the duct and get blown back into the house.Now, 3M/Filtrete has switched to these cheap cardboard frames that make removing the filter near impossible and result in re-depositing dust in my ducts. I am looking for another brand. For now, there are two strips of cardboard on top of my water heater that read DO NOT BUY THESE. One of them also reads Filtrete.1Subscribe to these.Great for pet owners. These guys really cleaned up my home and its air quality. Traps cat dander, fur, etc. The first few filled up fast as it filtered out what my previous choice couldn't. But now that I use these, my house stays nice and clean.5
