Easy install but not sure it s doing what it shouldWas pretty easy to install- I also installed new filters and a spin filter using PEX for the first time and had to run back to the store a time or two for things that should have fit but didn t so it took me 2 days for all of it- and the light is lit up but the directions say that the water coming out should be hot and mine isn t- it s actually pretty cold- and I took some out for testing just after the filter and it still didn t pass testing for bacteria- until I sanitized the well again. I do plan to take out the bulb I put in and try the second one and see if that makes any difference.I did keep in mind the reviews that said to be careful with the o-rings and the tubing so I was extra careful with them.3Aquarium UseI do not write reviews often but I felt compelled due to this particular situation. I wanted a UV filter light for my 125 gallon aquarium but I was not happy with the build quality/longevity of traditional aquarium UV filters. I did not like how they shorted out, leaked, or had low watts/capacity capabilities for larger aquarium tanks. So I got to thinking that this product would be beyond overkill and exactly what I needed in regards to watts and large water capabilities. After all, it is designed for your home.I'm pleased to review I was correct in my theory! I had an extremely horrendous algae bloom. I could no longer see into my tank. I could not even tell if my fish were still alive! After installing, in less than twelve hours I could clearly make out my fish and other items in my tank. With traditional aquarium UV lights this phase usually takes about 24 hours.Also, I was worried about my aquarium temperature rising. I researched, that water remaining at rest, with the light on, temps would average 140 degrees! Even with the water continuously moving I was concerned with temperatures exceeding 83 degrees. I am happy to review that this does not increase temperatures as long as the water remains flowing and I still need the use of my aquarium heaters.I hope this review helps anyone who may consider using this product in lieu of a traditional aquarium UV filter.5The supplier is extremely conscientiousThis 6 gpm water purifier was easily installed by my plumber in slightly more then two hours. He did a bypass from the main water intake so that I would be able to run all the water through the purifier or turn off the purifier to change ultra-violet bulbs in the future. The instructions were easy to follow. The ballast has a green and red light on it, and it didn t remain on green. I emailed HQUA-QIN and 3 days later a package arrived with two additional ballasts, supplied without charge. The first one I installed worked perfectly and the light has remained on green ever since. I couldn t have had better service.5SucksBought this back in september. My husband just tried to (finally) hook it up. The gaskets around the light bulb and water inleqt would not stop leaking! Unfortunately my return window closed on october 25th. So im out over $100. Fyi, my husband knows what hes doing and still couldn't get it to work properly. The instructions provided are okay but I got more info by watching YouTube videos. If you do not have any plumbing experience it most likely is a job too far for you and I would suggest getting some help. If you are handy with tools and have the basic experience with plumbing it is doable. The only problem I had was the two holders that screw to the wall and are meant to clamp shut around the unit to hold it in place are a 1/4 inch shy of closing no matter what I tried. I will try to warm them with a hair drier then try again. The pipe clamps on the rest of the plumbing is holding it secure now.5Excellent.I installed this 25W UV sterilizer in my house. Directions were clear enough. No leaks. All parts were there. Customer service was excellent (I thought I was missing O rings and they sent some out immediately; I later found the missing O rings). As described by the seller, if the UV system is left on for extended periods of time with no water flowing, it can get warm. Mounting to a plywood board makes install easy.I wanted to save energy, so I used a timer to shut the unit down late at night and I also used a cheap temperature controller (WILLHI WH1436A) to turn power off to the unit when no water was being used during the day and the unit started to heat up. By placing the temperature sensor at the inlet of the UV canister, the temperature drop of the cold incoming water turns the UV back on instantly when I do use water. It works perfectly.Overall, a very good value.5Great customer service!The B01NCQUE0X - HQUA-OWS-6 Ultraviolet Water Purifier Sterilizer is a great unit for the price. I researched the different brand names and units. This unit fit the GPM (gallon per minute) that my system needed and I researched the differences of the lights and how they work with removing and penetrating the harmful pathogens by removing the microorganisms. Basically the ultraviolet light for water purification is the same based on the GPM water flow and it does not make sense that the prices are so different for the different brand names. This unit was priced at a very good price and was easy to install. During the installation I had to reduce my water lines from 3/4 down to 1/2 using a reduction fitting, I over tightened the fitting and stripped the one inlet on the unit. I contacted the HQUA Tech department and requested a price to replace the stripped part that was over tightened. James from HQUA contacted me and replaced the part free of charge and did not even charge me shipping costs. The company backs the product and has excellent customer service, I received the replacement part in 2 days and installed the unit. The unit is working as expected and I just cant say enough for the outstanding customer service and HQUA Tech support!~Enjoying clean drinking water!5It arrived quickly, but had a chip in the ...It arrived quickly, but had a chip in the quartz tube. I contacted customer service and they rushed me TWO to replace it! Now That's customer service!Quality unit. I'm building a tiny Off-grid cabin in the woods, and this is my final step after charcoal and micron filters to purify rain water for use.I may get a second as a backup at this price.5Good product, Great Customer Service.Very nicely made unit. Quality stainless steel housing. Good installation instructions. Great customer service. I had a problem with a small crack in the quartz tube and there was a tiny leak that got inside the tube, wetting the bulb. I emailed customer service and got a reply overnight. They told me not to re-use the bulb as it may have water damage and sent me a new quartz tube and new bulb. They shipped it express and it was delivered on a Monday in 3 days.Installation tip: the O-rings do not have a round cross section, but rather are beveled. They have a tendency to roll when sliding them onto the quartz tube,so may end up twisted. Inspect the O-rings carefully to make sure they are seated properly against the beveled opening in the housing and not twisted before screwing on the end caps. Don't assume everything will line up properly when you screw the end caps on.5I had three bad well tests- eI had three bad well tests- e.coli and coloform after shocking the well three times! after install the water tested clean. Easy to install with some common sense and very minimal plumbing experience.5
