Customer Reviews

Non-stick and NOT teflon!! Nice looking, nothing is sticking and they clean easily. They work well on our induction cooktop and we are very happy with these so far. 5Very good ceramic pan, probably the best you'll find under $100 Great pan, very high quality. I wish it wasn't raise in the center and was instead flat. Makes it impossible to cook eggs, even on a level stove, without them seeping to the edge of the pan. Everything else cooks great. Oil mostly stays where you put it as well. It just isn't a good egg pan. Even with egg holder rings, they will seep out, because only 2/3 of the bottom surface diameter is flat and falls off toward the edges, so the rings simply can't seal.I'm sure they did this to increase heat distribution consistency, but that doesn't seem to be all that great either, as things in the center brown before things toward the edge, even on a large burner. So why 4 stars you ask? Because of all the non-stick pans I've had, Teflon to enamel to ceramic, this is the best coating I've ever seen. The pan itself is clearly a budget pan, but the coating is exceptionally high quality, something I'd expect to find on a $200-$300 pan. It doesn't scratch, chip or flake. It doesn't react to acids or certain foods that have utterly destroyed previous pan coatings (I'm looking at you onions) and it's comically easy to clean. I've cooked just about everything you can for breakfast on this thing and it's a rinse and wipe affair to clean it. Salmon skin stuck to the bottom from searing? The silicon spatula and water was all I needed to scrape it off. I've only had it 6-9 months or so, but that's already longer than every ceramic pan I've had before it lasted...they all lost this non-stick property. And even Teflon Professional coatings flake off on me, and that stuff is just scary. I don't want pieces of my cookware in my food, unless its cast iron which actually breaks down in the body. 4I love my Kyocera 10 in skillet I love my Kyocera 10 in skillet! It cleans up effortlessly and the nonstick properties make sauteing, cooking a burger or scrambling eggs a breeze. Will be purchasing this same brand in other sizes to replace my inferior, though brand name, nonstick skillets. 5Bad bad coating, gets ruined quickly. I bought this pan, and it fell apart within60 days. Its not non-stick anymore, and I cant even return it, since the return window ended a few days ago. DO NOT BUY. 1Not worth the money After 5 months of using once or twice a week, usually for eggs, I have noticed a bunch of spots where the coating looks like it has chipped off. I am always very careful, use wooden or plastic spoons and spatulas, always hand wash, and I do not store it underneath any other pans. It is still non-stick, but I can't help thinking I am eating ceramic coating every time I use this. 240 days later, food sticks to it like glue It worked great the first month and a half, but, despite my most careful and gentle use, it is no longer non-stick now. I would return it to Amazon if I could, but I am 10 days late. Hopefully, Kyocera will do a warranty exchange. I will update here if they do, but I recommend avoiding this product based on my 40 days of use. 1Non-stick is great! Won't work on all induction hobs. These won't work on the large hob of my induction range, but my stainless steel and iron skillets work great. Works on the smaller hobs. I can use my cast-iron griddle for under the medium- size skillet but will have to give away the big skillet. Very disappointed. 2Recommended after 22 months of frequent use I recommend this pan without reservation and I'm not the kind of person to do so gratuitously. The ceramic coated surfaces still look new even though we use it frequently (3-5 times/week). This is by far the best "non-stick" frying pan we've had and we've been buying/trying them for 30 years without endorsing one until now. Truth is, I've enjoyed using this pan since day 1, but I wanted to use it for an extended period before commenting.I will say I'm not a "non-stick" purist, I always use a little oil or butter to fry and I've learned to allow foods to fry long enough to"release" from the pan before moving/flipping them. The pan's thick bottom distributes heat well and it worked great again (this morning) when I fried 6 eggs at one time with a sliver of butter (1/3 of a pat) melted & brushed across the bottom and up on the sides. We typically use silicone or non-metallic utensils in this pan, but it stands up to metal utensils as long as one uses them gently and doesn't "dig in" with them. I don't hesitate to use a metal fork to flip/stir foods (chops, bacon, home-fries, etc.)Absolutely simple & fast cleanup with soap & hot water. I have several 12" lids that work great on this pan.I've had great success with Amazon Warehouse Deals - If I were to buy another, I'd buy the one there priced at $39.65 5Best pans I've used! By far the best non-stick pans I've used. It took me a little to get used to them as they are different from traditional non-stick pans. The heat distribution is GREAT!Some notes:- Don't use spray oils, it's bad for the ceramic. Instead use a dab of butter or reg oils.- Use a slightly cooler setting. These pans heat really well! 5Don't waste your money. I cannot recommend the purchase of these pans for anyone looking for a real non-stick pan, or any purpose at all. I had high hopes for these pans as a non-stick alternative to similar teflon pans. Well, the purchase has proved to be a mistake. Not only are they not effectively non-stick, but the surface of the pan is not completely flat. This further exacerbates the problem of food sticking because the oil/butter used for cooking pools away from the center of the pan, which causes the food to stick even more. I have treated them with the same care I would a teflon pan, so there is no reason why the non-stick would have been compromised. At least, a steel or cast-iron pan has a flat bottom, so the fat/ oil coats the bottom of the pan. 1
