Customer Reviews

Does the job, but be warned. We received this item last night. While the box was a little beat up, all the items inside were in good condition. Positives: This support system comes with several pieces to work with several heights and widths, meaning we have the potential to use it with a different frame in the future. There are extra pieces to be paired with a range of heights listed in the description, and it easy to put together. It serves its purpose perfectly. Our wooden slates for our queen weren't strong enough and ended up bowing, causing a sagging mattress. This is the perfect way to use a metal support system without being able to actually use a traditional metal frame. Negatives: The two pre-cut holes (one small one on the top left and one big one dead center) in the metal support arms weren't described on the site and might not work for all. The wooden cleats on our frame that the metal system attaches to are an inch wide (pretty standard for wood frames). The way the big center hole is drilled, it doesn't leave enough wooden cleat the attach to via the provided wood screw, forcing you to use the smaller predrilled hole on the top left. This top left hole was so flush with the wood side rails, that we could barely get a screwdriver (definitely not a DeWalt cordless drill) to tighten the screws. As a result, we ended up stripping one screw. This could have been avoided if we could have drilled a pilot hole had the drill fit flush, or the hole been in a better location.Overall, it does exactly the job it's suppose to, and I can see it holding up for an eternity. I wish there was better set up for the pre-drilled holes. Others might not have an issue. Glad we have a better support system for our expensive mattress (and box spring) to sit on. 4Worth every penny. Very fast shipping! Works great with my king size bed. Also came with a lot of extra hardware. 5Well made I bought these rails for a wooden bed that has metal side rails. These rails are heavy-duty and fully adjustable. The ends of the rails are flat and have a hole drilled in them to accommodate a wood screw. Since I was not attaching them to wood, we had to get metal screws and drill other holes in my frame in order to attach these rails. So, if you have a drill and metal screws, these will also work on a metal frame. There were several different feet included so any height bed will work. Unfortunately, the instructions left something to be desired. 5Excellent Product My initial bed came with wood slats that simply wore down over the years, eventually to the point where they were no longer repairable with glue and duct tape. I looked around for "replacement" slats or how to make my own ... and then found this product. These things work great (and fit a California King). They are sturdy and easy to assemble. The only bit of difficulty rests in getting the height just right but that's more trial and error than actual difficulty. So overall, if you either need sturdier slats or replacement slats - these things are great and could probably withstand an elephant jumping on the bead. 5Second times the charm I guess. We purchased a sleigh bed from West Elm at a deep discount because it did not come with hardware, including the wood slats to help support the bed, with the exception of the middle slat that you then screw other boards to the sides. We trekked to Home Depot and got some wood and made our own slats, but we still needed support in the middle, so we ended up with a McGyver solution of using the old bed raisers we were not using anymore with a couple blocks of extra wood to provide support in the middle of the bed. As you could imagine this was not the greatest solution, and they would occasionally get knocked out of place, which would require either removing mattresses and box spring, or me deadlifting the end of the bed and my boyfriend squeezing under and adjust them back into place. One night I heard a board break and I was done. I got on Amazon at like 2AM and ordered this and also a box spring that is low profile instead of our regular sized one. The whole bed was getting a makeover. Putting this in place took less than 10 minutes, but the reason for the low stars is because some of the parts didn't go together. In the box you get 6 iron slats that fit together, 3 steel almost T shaped grips that you slide onto the slats, 3 thumbs screws that you screw into the T shaped grips, 3 iron (or steel) extenders, and 6 feet that screw into the extenders or the T grips. Now, the 6 feet is because there are 2 different sizes you can choose from, so 3 of each.Only 1/3 of the T grips/extenders fit correctly. The others we had to hammer down to get the thumb screw in place, and also, the extenders didn't fit properly, they kind of just sat in there, but could easily wobble out. I got on Amazon and requested a replacement, which is in the mail already. But, since we already unscrewed all the wooden slats, we had no choice to just set it up and hopefully the extenders would not move out of place or sleep on the floor. We decided to be careful and sleep in bed once it was all set up.When I got up in the morning I heard a crack and thought that maybe it fell apart or the bed broke. We took off the mattresses and noticed that the extenders were forced into place upon bearing our weight overnight, so the feet were about 1/2 inch off the floor, so essentially our bed was only supported by 1 of 3 feet all night. We extended the feet so they are now hitting the floor and now the bed is fully supported. The feet themselves seem like a hard resin, and we ended up putting a rug halfway under the bed because I wasn't very confident that they wouldn't scratch our hardwood floors.Minus stars for the hardware not fitting together correctly overall. It's easy to set up, but really annoying that we had to basically do it all twice. 3very easy to assemble the metal support rail assembly arrive within a few days.... very easy to assemble .... 3 flat rails that come in 2 pieces each that slide into each other and then lay across the bed and 3 center support legs that clip over and then can slide up and down.......the support legs can also be adjusted in height.......... definitely sturdy......... the flat ends of the metal rails simply lay on the lip or ridge on inside the wooden side rails on each side of the poster bed....... took minutes to install....... and much sturdier than the wood support boards that usually come with a poster bed....... the middle support legs slide easily up and down the rails so if you don't want any leg exactly centered you can slide it to custom position it if you plan to store things under the bed. I would definitely recommend it..........although it does seem a bit pricey for just 3 metal slats and 3 legs...... 5These are a wonderful purchase! These are a wonderful purchase!!! So impressed that I had to go back and get another set for my sons bed. They are soooo sturdy and super easy to install. They make your foundation solid. No squeezing. All beds should be sold with these instead of that flimsy wood they sell them with! No worry about your boxspring caving in with these. I'd recommend these anytime !! 5Would recommend! This support rail system is just what I had hoped for. Simple to assemble, and has zero movement when installed. The cross-bars are held together with the foot brackets in a way that allows everything to be held together securely. The bars have zero movement once a few screws (included) are added at ends of bars into the bed's wood rails. Would recommend! 5Helped restore a Family Heirloom This worked well with my over 60yr old wood frame. You do have to put the rails together as each one is actually two pieces held together by a brace and thumbscrew set up in the middle. The feet attach to that brace but it appears to be extremely solid. The one drawback to me was that you have to screw them into the side rails to secure it, I am however extremely pleased with the sturdiness of the frame now. I would definitely recommend this if you have an older frame that could do with better support. In my case, if you look at the picture, the frame actually needed a separate repair where I had broken out one of the ends due to my weight. This helped me feel comfortable with the repair so that my little girl could now use the frame that will have seen 4 generations of use. 5Solved the sagging and squeaking problem on full size bunk bed! We set up a twin over full bunk bed (from ikea) in our kids room. We chose the best wood rail system that Ikea had to offer, but it was nothing but headaches. Bunk beds don't have box springs so the support for the mattress really comes from the support beams, but these "sprung" cross boards are thin strips of wood and near useless. First the sagging, so we screwed the cross boards down to the side rails, then they cross rails started splitting and creaking with every shift on the mattress (and they were still sagging). Finally, we picked up these steel Mantua supports. Installation was a cinch (about 20 minutes) and all squeaking, creaking, sagging and splitting problems solved (We installed the Mantua steel supports under the wooden ikea system).Awesome and great price. Highly recommend. Thanks for reading. I hope this review was helpful! 5
