The Perfect Hat/Head net for MeI read reviews of several products and learned from them what I'd most want and this net is Exactly what I wanted and better than I expected. The longer length is a must. While looking down while raking and such, I have backed into lower branches and was easily able to detach my net. I didn't make holes or snags (I was careful) and thought that was above and beyond. I do like the "black" netting which I chose as others mentioned white and beige caught glare and light making it hard to see through. I think getting them in a set of 3 was handy. I've shared one. Keeps out the very tiny bugs that fly around here in Southeast Texas during the Spring and early Summer. That type of climate, which is subtropical, is perfect for bugs. And boy, do we have them. I looked at a few hats with mosquito netting added to it but realized that I couldn't get the total head and neck coverage I needed for proper UPF sun protection.Since I just had a melanoma removed from my back (with surgery including 56 stitches), I'm very careful about what I wear in the sun when working on our landscaping. I couldn't find beekeepers' hats which provided both UPF 50 in the hat as well as side and back flaps to protect my neck. So I quickly realized that the solution was to buy the netting separate and simply use it over the proper sun protection hats that I already had.I ordered this triple pack of mosquito head netting for a number of reasons. They are economical, well-built, are loose fitting, are a very neutral khaki color, and have a very tight mesh to protect against the tiniest buggers. The khaki color does not absorb heat from the sun and is easy to see through. Since our Florida yellow flies are attracted to dark colors, khaki is the way to go.5Versatile and helpful protection during black-fly seasonOne of the bad things about Spring in Maine is the return if the blackflies. They may only be around for 4 weeks or so but they are more than a nuisance for many. These nets provide good protection when worn along with your choice of head-wear.Believe it or not, he black color nets provide better visibility than lighter colors which become more visible in bright daylight.5Does the jobDo not like using chemicals to repel bugs and essential oils don't work, at least not for me. This net is very very light, you don't feel it at all, and it's big enough that it fits around a baseball cap or head covering also. You can see the black mesh in front of your eyes but your brain tunes that out quickly as you enjoy the feeling of tiny bugs NOT crawling on your face. It also has a drawstring for the neck so you can feel secure they won't get in through the opening. The carrying case is nice also, you can use a carbine to clip it to your dog-walking bag. It might look a little different but we live in some bug-ridden times.5Mosquito Head Nets Are Effective if you Spray Your Hat with a Deet ProductI would recommend purchasing the nets in white as I think they are easier to see through on a sunny day as the sun makes it difficult to see through the netting. The gnats gather on the netting and if the net is touching your face you will get bitten. I use a brimmed hat that pulls the netting further from my face, yet it's still close enough to close any gaps at the collar/neck. However...I do wear a buttoned collar to cover my neck for extra protection. The most effective way to use the netting is to spray your hat with a deet product.5Sizing will fit any adult head/hatMy #1 concern in purchasing the net online was the sizing. I need it to fit over a hat and extend to cover the neck. Having read the reviews of the other nets and this, I decided on this one. The sizing of this one is fantastic: large enough for my purpose. The stuff sack is an added convenience. I attach the sack to the harness of my backpack so that the net is readily available and stored. Lastly, the pricing and quality was one of the highest value for online purchase. Highly recommended if you go hiking/backpacking in area with flies/gnats/hornets.5
