Customer Reviews
These plug-in motion detectors work for me
I bought two of these plug-in motion detectors, one for my under cabinet kitchen led lights, the other for my security camera monitor. They work well for my applications. I read other people s reviews that stated that these have problems. Maybe I am lucky that both of them work really well. I set 5 minutes for mine.
5Seriously.. Dont waste your money.
DO NOT PURCHASE. I read reviews..thought I would take a chance on seeing if I would get Lucky and get a working unit. Very disappointed to get what others got. It worked for 3 weeks...and goes on and off at random. Total waste of your hard earned money. Seriously...don't buy.
1The Motion Activated Light Control Units Work As Advertized
After installing the Motion Activated Light Control Units, I tested the units to ensure activation area (25' x 100') and time delay worked as advertised. And indeed it did. I am very pleased with the units and would not hesitate to repurchase the Motion Activated Light Control Units.
5Work great, consistent and very handy
These work like a charm and consistently. You can adjust how long the light stays on which is handy. It's really cool to be able to walk into a room with your hands full and have this gadget automatically turn on the light for you. Also can be used to turn on light at night when motion is detected.
5Having the corded motion sensor was perfect for proper placement for our Halloween Haunted House event
Having the corded motion sensor was perfect for proper placement for our Halloween Haunted House event. Having the "fixed" timers was also important vs the "variable" timers with unexpected timings results.
5You get to only one worked for me for about 2 months.
I bought the pair. The first one lasted me about 1 to 2 months. First month it worked perfectly. I have it in my mother's room whose elderly and has dementia so I like the idea of her getting out of bed the light turns on. So as I was saying the first month was perfect. Second month it was taking a little longer to turn off but no problem still work. Finally it just worked once in awhile. I change the settings so it shuts off and different minutes and they would stay on for a long. Of time until I manually shut it off. After a while I changed the sensor for the second one. The second one never worked not even once. If you want to give them a try I'd say try both and don't rely on the other one working. I'd say you're better buying it at a store that has to return policy.
2I was weary because of other reviews, but I think i figured it out
Okay so after reading other reviews, I wasn't sure if I really wanted to try this or not, but at this time its the only cheap device like this I can find, and they were selling two for $26 instead of 1 for $20. Note: I ended up getting two, both are exactly the same.As far as this not working: I noticed I did have to leave the device alone for about 30 seconds after giving it power. After that, it seems to work.Switch Delay: After about a minute of the device having power, it seemed the relay was activated a few seconds after I walked into range of the sensor (approximately 1 to 4 seconds).Sensor Range: Definitely not the 25 feet as stated on the box, I'd say about 10 feet but in my situation thats fine.Functionality: Unfortunately the only configurable option is the time on, but hey I supposed that is the most important option. it has SOMETHING like 1, 2, 5, 10, I don't remember exactly - but for my "man cave" as people call it, or "Anonymous operations center" as my friends and family call it, 10 minutes is just fine. If we leave the room, I know the lights will be off in a little while, and I don't have to worry about my little brother leaving them on.Overview: They seem a bit cheesy, but day 1 everything seems to be doing its job pretty well. I wasn't sure to give 3 or 4 stars, but I suppose it does work so far so I will give 4. My only issue is really just with the sensor range.
4Does Not Work At All!
Thought it would be simple but BOTH controls failed miserably. Lights would turn on and off randomly, even when the sensor was shut in a desk drawer. Absolutely useless for any purpose. Can I change that to Zero Stars? Infuriating...
11 broken after 6 months June 2019
Both worked as advertised and great from Dec 2018 to June 2019 then one just stopped working. Tested other outlets to be sure and looks like I just got 1 for $27 instead of 2. I ll send the seller a note and if they want to replace it I ll come back and change to 5 stars because these are otherwise a very good value. Maybe I got a lemon and if they don t replace it then assume one will break and you ll only have one. For $27 you can by a cordless one which provides more flexibility in placement so give that some thought.
1My damned wife
My wife will leave every damned light on in the house! Now. She walks in a room, light comes on, she walks out, light turns off (after a set time). They may pay for themselves in elecicity bills. Also, they are triggered by my kittens running around. So if we are away, the lights will go on & off making it look like someone is home. Those little rascal kitties... Always play at the witching hour.
