    Great Panini Press You can do so much with this. Great grated bottom so you get "grill marks" on sandwiches, steaks, etc. Nice and heavy being cast iron and very easy to clean. Go ahead....get one. 5Works perfectly with Le Creuset square grill pan!This thing is fantastic. We heat it up at the same time as the grill pan and once they're both warm, it's fantastic. My grilled cheese has never been so delicious. The grill pan alone wouldn't make the same sizzle marks and the extra weight on top cooks the center of the food faster. It really works perfectly in tandem with the Le Creuset square grill pan, but I suppose you could use it in other pans as well. The weight is just right - heavy but not squish-the-food heavy.5NOT enameled, but nice if you are looking for regular cast iron.The product description on this page is wrong, this panini press is NOT enameled. In fact, I doubt that it's even pre-seasoned. If you are not expecting either (enamel or pre-seasoning), this is a nice panini press.I have a few pieces of cast iron cookware including Le Creuset and Lodge. This panini press was for my Lodge grill pan (Lodge Logic L8SGP3 Pre-Seasoned Square Grill Pan, 10.5-inch) and I'm happy to report that it fits perfectly. I heat up this panini press on a burner next to the grill pan when cooking. I wasn't necessarily looking for a ribbed press...I would have preferred a flat one (for ease of cleaning) but this Norpro was about half the price of a Lodge flat press at the time of my purchase so I decided on the Norpro instead.So far, so good. If you are familiar with using and caring for cast iron, there really are no surprises. The press itself has been good, especially for the price I paid on Amazon ($14.41). It's a nice weight. I hesitate to give it 5 stars only because of some missing information about the product. I'd like to know the maximum recommended temperature for the handle - it seems to be made of some type of sturdy plastic material, similar to that of Le Creuset. Unlike Le Creuset, there is no indication that the handle is oven-safe, nor does it have maximum recommended temperature for the handle. It also does not list the country of manufacture either on the box or the product.I also considered buying a smaller grill press, but I'm glad that I went with the bigger one instead...if I'm grilling 2 paninis, I want to do it in one shot and not have to move a smaller one from one sandwich to the other. All in all, a good purchase.4Best panini press ever...I'm sorry, but I love how people are writing that it's smaller than expected. Did you not read the dimensions??? This product works so well, and I've purchased more expensive items in the past. You truly can't beat it. Heavy enough, wide enough...I honestly think people expect the world for $17.00. I'm very impressed with the product. I've used it twice a week now, and I have no idea why one reviewer said she had to heat it up first. Maybe your pan or griddle isn't hot enough.5Great, but the knob came offThis is a great product, however the knob came off after about a year and a half. I hate to give 3 stars, but it s a little disappointing that it would come off relatively soon. The knob is also plastic, so maybe that s part of the problem. About to throw it away because as you can imagine, it s really hard to use (and dangerous) to use it with a towel basically picking up a heavy item with a screw.3Panini Ease This press fits perfectly inside my cast iron grill pan. I use it for sandwiches instead of lugging out my electric panini press plus the washing that one requires. This is also great for chicken scalopini for a fast grill of seasoned, thin cut pieces of protein. This was a replacement for one I gave away. Hightly recommend for value and performance. 5Good value, works the sameThis is much cheaper than the Le Creuset, and fits our Le Creuset griddle pan just fine.4Perfect fit!Needed a panini press for my Le Crueset square grill pan. I was not willing to spend $90 + for just the LC press! I read all the reviews whenever I purchase anything even the negative reviews are relative in any purchase. The Norpro fits just right in my LC square grill pan. What a bargain! I used it twice so far. My son came over and we made NY steak, Swiss cheese and sour dough bread grilled sandwiches using my new Norpro 'enamel' press. The sandwiches were great! We did not have to flip the sandwich over. Both sides were done to a nice crispy grill marked and golden brown. Maybe a tad, just a tiny tad, uneven from the press but it worked just fine. Using an in door grill pan is a skill that takes time to develop. I like the challenge not using all the electric gadgets like an electric panini grill etc. I'm pleased with this purchase!5Plastic handleI didn't read the reviews carefully enough and was disappointed when it came and had a plastic handle, rendering it useless for what we needed, which was to use in a toaster oven. But it was heavy and seemed like it would work fine on a pan. Still, I returned it since it wasn't what we needed.2Kitchen Necessity!I have owned one for at least 6 years, just bought this as a Christmas gift. The only complaint I have is that the handle on top is plastic. On the plus side, it won't burn you when you pick it up. On the down side, you can't put the panini press in the oven or the plastic handle will melt. It makes incredible grilled cheese, tuna melts, and will keep bacon from splattering. So much smaller (and smarter!) than the countertop electric panini makers.4It is a little heavy, but I love it.I have used this several times on ground beef patties and on chicken...For me it's a bit heavy, but I'm not a real strong woman.A couple times the ground beef has stuck to it, but I believe that was a user error, I was curious to see how things were cooking and lifted it too soon.I have also learned to place a piece of aluminum foil on the counter to put the heated press on when checking & removing the cooked food. (I pre-heat it with my grill pan, it could damage my counter-top) The handle stays cool.I love it and have recommended it to family.5goes great with a la creuset grill pan I bought this to go with my la creuset grill pan. It's a great size and I love the weight of it, but it has a plastic knob so I'm weary of placing it directly on the heat (as directed) before using it as a press, which is why It gets 4 stars. 4Good pressThis and the matching Vremi fry pan are a great combination together.5
