    Disappointing descriptionThese are not for a recliner, even though it states they are in the description! I put these on my recliner and they were SOOO stiff that they bent the reclining mechanism!! Cost me $200 to get the chair fixed. 1Looks good quality but did not workPurchased this based on the product description, however the spring was too stiff to be able to hook it in our recliner. Went with another spring which was must softer and easier to install. Return was easy as usual with Amazon. 3Perfect fit!It took about 5 minutes to install the spring on the footrest of our Lane recliner. My husband used a pair of pliers to stretch it. I thought I d order this one and if it didn t work I d order the $24.99 Lane spring. 5Did The TrickThis spring was used to replace a broken spring in my recliner foot rest. The spring did the trick but it took a bit more effort to stretch than I planned on. That was because the diameter of the spring was closer to 23/32 and not the 9/16 diameter in the product description. In the end, I was able to stretch it and fix my favorite recliner so all is good. I would still recommend this to fix your broken recliner since the spring doesn't have to be exactly the same diameter or length. Close is good enough for this fix. It just means a little more effort to stretch. 4Be sure to get the right size and have the proper tool to install it.It was tough for my husband to replace the spring on our recliner but this thing has worked like a charm since. 5Perfect fit!This was exactly what I was looking for. This replacement is a little bigger in diameter, but not enough to matter. I was surprised how quickly I was able to get the spring to slip into place. For those who want to know, I used a thin screwdriver to lever the loop into place. 5Good replacement springRecliner had a broken spring, this replaced it. The new spring was very tight and took some muscle to get in place. 5good price, not the pictured springArrived very quickly and the price is right. They are NOT the spring that is pictured. They are a lot heavier gauge of wire. They aren't going to work on the chair I need them for but I have another chair they will fit so I might as well hold onto them. 2Ultra Strong SpringThe spring was entirely too strong for use on my recliner and had to be returned. The spring appears to be well made and in applications requiring a really strong spring may work just fine. 3Strong!!We bought the wrong one. No fault to the seller. We didnt return it because it was our mistake. Its super strong though! 5
