    Very handyCame across these by accident, but glad I did. I do a lot of wood carving and have difficulty sanding smaller pieces and the finer details. This tool makes it easier to get into those tight corners, and sure beats folding up a sheet of sandpaper to do the job. Also much easier on your fingers too. I like that you can roll the sanding belt to get a fresh sanding surface when you need it. Bought a bunch of extra belts of varying grit too. Nice addition to the wood carving bench. 5Great addition to the renovation toolboxI'm renovating an old house. Lots of stripping and sanding. These really get into tight spaces on window frames, etc. I especially like them for correcting the sand-in-the-wrong-direction grooves on inside corners. More effective then wrapping a putty knife with sand paper; probably because the design allows for a good amount of force per unit area (psi). The sand paper bands last a good bit because you can advance them by a smidgen at a time and have fresh paper. You can use every last bit of fresh abrasive. Then throw them away. No more bags of partially used (are they ready to throw out yet?) sandpaper stashes. This addresses one of the great quandaries in life. When is it time to throw out the old sandpaper and start with a fresh piece? 5detail sanders that are better. The idea is goodI could of made, and now have made, detail sanders that are better. The idea is good, but the product design is flawed. Protruding ridges at the pointy end of the sanding stick end up scratching the delicate areas you are attempting to sand. Yup- didn't make sense to me. 2Great for spot rust removal on sheet metal.Fantastic for spot rust removal, painting those pesky rust spots that break out after rocks hit your cars hood and other places. These will make you stop buying those fiber glass pens. I found the 180 to remove the top rust and once down to bare metal, the 240 made a nice smooth surface for painting. I'm no professional, so if there is no more rust, I don't care what it looks like after I paint it.Tip: Advance the band of sand paper by sliding the paper on the plastic holder itself, slowly. Don't remove the band and advance it to a new position. 5Nice product for sandidng in fine delicae areas.The product is unique in design and enables you to get into tight areas to sand places that would otherwise be difficult to reach and accomplish. Nice design and very handy tool. This is not made for major sanding of large areas and works just as described as a SANDING DETAILER. Great idea and execution and I like it a lot. Very satisified with the product and the service. 5Wood Carving NeedGetting a wood carving to look finished, you need to sand. These are not the only sanding device you will need but they certainly allow you to get into places that you can't get any other way. Manually sanding is quicker than it would seem. I have a micro sander but I still use these with every carving. The grits are perfect and the belts last a long time. 5For precision sandingI use these sanding sticks when building plastic scale models to access difficult to reach areas and corners. They are roughly the size of a standard ink pen (6.25" x.25") and feel natural to hold. Their stable design helps provide a great deal of precision and control. The sticks are spring-loaded and keep the sanding belts in place with tension. The belts can be switched or rotated forward by pushing the top portion of the stick inwards. 20 belts were included with my order. I also use another brand of sanding stick (Excel Hobby) and the belts seem to be interchangable. I would recommend using these types of sanding stick only for precision sanding. They could be used for general, heavy sanding, but the belt would need to be frequently rotated. 5PERFECT for working on modelsThese are absolutely wonderful. I am using these sticks for building plastic model cars. They are the perfect size/shape for sanding tiny areas to remove imperfections and paint. The stick functions in such a way that the entire sanding band can be rotated as needed for further use. This allows you to use the entire band before replacing, which means you can do a TON of small sanding with each band. Quite frankly, I don't know how I lived without these for model building. 5Excellent Adjustable Sanding Sticks for HobbyistsI build model ships for a hobby and love these sanding sticks. They're designed nicely to fit into tight spaces, and designed primarily for wooden models of any kind. There's a set of four, each one colored for easy identification and grit selection. The best part is the sandpaper strip can be moved when the area at the working end gets worn. Simply squeeze the stick together (it's spring-loaded) and adjust the sandpaper strip to bring a new section to the working area. Plenty of extra strips were included for each grit. Why weren t these around when I first started this hobby 50+ years ago?? The color coding is a nice touch but I added the grit number in permanent marker to each of them. There is one overlap in the grits with the Finishing Kit which is good as this is a commonly used grit. 5
