    A very handy tool ...I frequently have to go out to industrial facilities to sketch up equipment and piping layouts ... and don't know what I'd do without a board like this to sketch on. Years ago, I purchased my first one (not this brand) in a thrift shop. And it remained in use until I recently tripped over something, fell and smacked the board so hard on a pipe that it snapped in two. Unfortunately, the old brand is no longer made ... so I'm giving the Saunders line a try.The Saunders board has everything I need ... the handhole for carrying (a must), the clips to hold papers, and the elastic band to keep the wind from blowing everything all over the place. And it's big enough to comfortably hold 11 x 17 sketch sheets with room to spare. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the board itself doesn't feel quite as sturdy as my last one. But we'll see how it holds up in the months ahead.A tip: the elastic bands never seem to last all that long. But that's OK. Once they inevitably break, I simply use medium-size binder clips along that edge to hold papers down when it's windy! 4Works great for 11 x 17 paper applicatons - handle is helpful - solid enough - gets the job doneI had a specific application where I use an 11x17 sheet that I have customized - and this works great - paper stays in place - is strong enough and stable enough etc. Not a super thick board but it holds up and is not heavy - clips are good. Handle is useful and allows me to hang it on wall when not in use so it doesn't take up a lot of shelf or desk space . 5Excellent Board for DrawingThis is an excellent board for commuter drawing, etc. My only reservation concerns the very young & seniors. I bought it for a senior artist who likes to draw in his lap & during commutes. I do wish the board was sturdier (thicker) & that the clips were not so tight. I think he will eventually break the board by accident, & meanwhile, he cannot manage the clips, so he has ripped several pictures. As long as I am there to help him, it is ok. Otherwisew, for the average person, I think these are very handy & am excellent size & price. ps(the actual color is "manilla", & I like that better than the advertised brown). 5This is a great item! I am using it with "US Art ...This is a great item! I am using it with "US Art Supply Solana Adjustable Wood Desk Easel with Drawers" for studying. It is sturdy enough to write comfortably, but they edges are just a little raw (I am going to try sanding them down a little). It suits my needs well of using it on a desk, but I can also see how it might be too delicate to take it out in the field if that is how you intend to use it. The clips are pretty sturdy to hold a few pages, but they seem a little delicate so I won't risk putting too much stress on them. Just FYI the usable writing space on the clipboard begins 3" down from the top (from top to bottom of clip), which is perfect for 11" long paper. Overall, I am pleased, it was a good bargain. 5love the two clips to be able to hold the ...love the two clips to be able to hold the sketch paper in place and the photo or picture you want to copy on the other side. I use it with and without a small box easel, for standing or sitting. Just wish it had graphs on the board, but I'm not sure If I would see them through the thick paper I use anyway. I'm pretty sure i can draw them on with a permanent marker. the clips hold the paper in place well and is easy to lift without hurting your fingers as it has a smooth grip to lift the clip. 5Missing rubber bandDidnt come with the rubber band that I actually need. Lighter colour theb pictured as well. I'm going to decoupage the back with pictures and stain the front because I have as hoping for darker. Clasps are nice though and a good size. 4Great for Adult Coloring PagesPerfect for doing adult coloring pages. I attach two different pages to this board and can switch back and forth until I complete one or both. 5but a little super glue corrected this problemThe board is a little bit thin and therefore a bit on the flimsily side. I say a bit because it is thinner than the boards I have used in the past but is still suitable for the intended job. The plastic gripers on each corner of the clips kept coming off, but a little super glue corrected this problem. It holds an 11 x 17 inch paper very well. For the dollar, it is OK. This is more of a neutral review than a negative review. 3Just exactly what I needed !Just perfect. I have been needing something big enough for my note pad and still have room for papers that I am working with. This works perfectly for what I needed. It is light weight, the handle area is convenient. Good quality , and oh so handy. 5Far too flimsyI ordered both this 19x12.25 board and the large 23x26 board (... those dimensions might be a bit off - but it's in the ball park). Both product are made with a very flimsy version of hardboard. They bent / deflected quite easily. I didn't trust that they would either provide a reliable flat surface for drawing, nor that they would last very long. There are similar boards readily available from other manufacturers that are the same price (or very nearly so) but that are sturdy.I was quite surprised when these boards arrived that the box they came in was very beat up, the top was torn and barely closed, and there was almost no packaging material in the large flat'ish box they came in. My guess now is that they were returned by someone else (good move) before they were sent back out to me. The boards, however, survived the lousy packaging in good condition. Unfortunately, good condition for these boards is not nearly up to par. Look elsewhere. 2
