Makes install a snap Bought this to replace my water heater copper lines after removing it for to install tile. I was amazed how easy it was to use. My old hot water shut off valve would not shut off completely used this so I wouldn't to replace the valve 5A money saver I have plumbing skills but don t do it for a living. It couldn t be any easier. This 25.00$ part saved me about 300 bucks. 5Not fit for commercial sale. I have to start by saying that the Sharkbite connectors are amazing...I haven't ever had issues or qualms with them, and I think their ease of use and quality are groundbreaking, making average people more at ease and confident tacking plumbing tasks. Easy does not always mean better though, and these hoses are a perfect example; they are not fit to be sold commercially. I had the same issues as others...black flakes in my bath tub. When I removed the aerators from my other faucets, I noticed the flakes in there as well. I bough a brand new fridge less that 6 months ago, and about 3 weeks ago it notified me that I need a new filter, so I am assuming it is from the degradation of these hoses. I looked over my entire water system, and the rubber from these hoses were the only thing that I could pinpoint to be the issue. I bit the bullet and replaced these hoses with copper. When I took the hoses off, I cut them open with a utility knife and found that the rubber inside the hoses was shredding off and going into and out of my water heater and throughout waterlines in my house. I am lucky because I know how to do some of these repairs but a lot of people don't and have to spend a LOT more to fix this problem. Having to spend money on fixing a defective product doesn't make me happy, but the part that worries me (maybe I'm just paranoid) is that my kids, wife, and I have all been drinking this water... I am no scientist, but I don't know how it can be safe to drink water that can have rubber debris in it. Sharkbite missed the mark with quality control on this one. I now have to flush my entire system and hope that I can get rid of all the debris in my water heater and lines, and replace the fridge filter (not sure, but I am guessing this is why). Hopefully there's no long term damage from this product on any of our appliances. My advise...do not buy. 1Durable and easy to install. Super easy to install. I had to remove the connection to the water heater after installation and was worried that the rotation might mess with the grip on the other side (to the copper pipe). It did rotate a bit, but no leaks after re-installing! Highly recommend, but I only installed this on the cold water inlet due to the negative reviews about black flakes coming off the hot side. 5Watertight fit Excellent product. These should be required for all replacement water heaters. 5Returning mine not even going to take the chance. I've watched multiple videos and chlorine in the city lines during flush in the spring will eat the inside of these hoses. 1Worked Great! This installs in literally seconds, couldn't be happier. Although I was terrified to install a water heater myself, This hose is one of the reasons I was able to do it without hiring someone and paying them hundreds of dollars to install it for me. It was so simple. I cut the copper pipe, slid this on, tightened the bottom to the water heater and DONE! If it took 2 minutes per line I would be surprised. No soldering, no leaks, no hassle!!!! I'm 51 with no experience with this at all and it was a piece of cake for me! Cannot rave enough about this product! 5Hard to believe something like this actually works, but I'm a believer now.
