    Best thing since sliced breadI totally fell in love with this sponge. After trying sprays (that permanently etched my fireplace glass), brushes, etc. I had given up all hope of getting rid of the soot on my stone fireplace. This sponge actually works! Easy to use, no fuss, no muss, worked quickly and efficiently. 5Works well......These actually work I was surprised. Although, a warning out there to everyone if you have tried to clean the soot area with anything else these will not work. We have soot on our ceiling for burning candles on top of our entertainment center and we've tried so many things to clean it and nothing worked. Then we got these and I can tell you our ceiling looks amazing now all except for the soot spot that we have tried cleaning with other products. That's on us so I'm not going to fault this. I just wish we would have tried these first now we have a super clean ceiling and a more pronounced soot spot lol. 4UselessI used as directed and it was completely useless. I had soot on my wall around my fireplace. A very tiny bit of soot came off but you really couldn't tell the difference. I switched to Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and it came off immediately, should have just tried that in the first place. Don't waste your money. 1Amazing!I was not optimistic when I bought this product. We bought a house with 30+ years of soot build up on the front of the fireplace and based on the other reviews, I figured this wasn't going to work on that much of a mess. It was cheap, so I went ahead and bought it. It shipped that day and I had it the next! I immediately tried using it and it's like a miracle eraser. I LOVE IT! I make one swipe and all the soot comes off! It's seriously awesome. There are a few really black spots left that I'm going to have to use something else on, but for 95% of the build up, this sponge worked wonders! I would highly recommend to anyone with soot build up. 5Smoke and soot all goneYears ago I was employed cleaning houses and we had a kitchen that had been badly burned. We used these sponges and it's amazing how they are able to take off very black soot from cabinets and walls. Once the sponge gets loaded with soot it's time for a new sponge but it works wonders. We were able to clean up that kitchen with no remnants of fire or soot. So when I saw a friend in need I was quick to order these again. This job is much smaller so this pack of two is all that we needed to get the job done. Highly recommend these! Delivery was very fast!! 5Didn t Work For MeThis product didn t work for me. Black soot formed on the wall where we burn candles. I followed the instructions and maybe a tiny bit came off but the rest looks smeared and the other spots look the same. Product wasn t very expensive but I expected it to work. 1Smoke/Soot Sponge- Great Product!I have smoke/soot on my living room wall & ceiling due to lighting scented candles everyday. I didn't know this would happen. So, going forward I will only use soy candles to avoid a soot residue. These sponges work perfectly. Their easy to use. You just simply wipe the walls with the sponge & the soot is instantly removed. I'm only 5'4 so its hard for me to reach the ceiling. I'm going to order a sponge holder extender. Great product. 5 AMAZING LITTLE MIRACLE SPONGE So, this is really embarrassing but my husband and I have never had a gas fireplace before and I had no idea that you needed to open the vent. Needless to say... our house is covered in soot. I have been in tears over this for a few days. I got my sponge today and I m EXTREMELY impressed. All you do is wipe it across the wall in ONE direction. You can see how well it worked by my picture. After awhile the sponge turns black and stops working as effectively. You can cut them in half lengthwise to make it last longer. I ordered a case (12) of these after getting the single one I ordered. That brings the price down to under $3.50 per sponge. Now I just need to get my husband and teenage son to help me because this is going to take awhile. Oh, and DO NOT attempt to clean the area with household cleaners first! I did this in some spots and the sponge didn t work in those areas. I would highly recommend this product! 5Great!My husband ran our gas fireplace for days while I was away without the flue completely open and my beige fireplace bricks had big black streaks going all the way up. Not sure if this would work on built-up soot, but the week s worth of soot came off easily without the mess of water and cleaners. 5If you like to shop flea markets, junk stores . . .If you like to shop flea markets, junk stores, estate sales, etc., you need one of these. The sponge is a little greasy and smelly but it works. It takes greasy old dirt and cigarette smoke residue off of just about everything. The smells dissipates after using. So many great old finds reel of cigarette smoke and smoke residue and the this is the secret to salvaging them. 5
