Customer Reviews

Great - READ THE BUT THOUGH Very cool very simple product. (Make sure you read the BUT)Allows for expansion of panels so you don t get fractured rail/stile when moisture content goes up and eliminates door rattle. I have used on a few custom kitchens and very happy with results. I calculate actual size and subtract 6mm, seems to give a good fit. BUT ONE ISSUE....in manufacturing there must be some oil that are residually left behind. Used them on walnut doors and got some oil? that penetrated the edges of the panel and was clearly visible (see pic). SOLUTION - put some sawdust in your bag of balls and it will absorb before it gets to your project. 5Good pricing ! Good PricingGreat for 5 panel doors. Have used for years.Greatly reduces splitting from panel expansionSpace Balls Bag of 1000 5Perfect for raised panel assembly - just like more expensive products. These spacer balls are exactly like others that I purchased and are the same size and hardness as more expensive lots that I bought recently. 5Better price & same quality! Perfect and cheaper than he can buy at box stores and they re the same thing. Just about time to order another container. No more searching for them. Thank you Amazon! 5Good method for placing panels in rail and stile doors. Just the right solution for "floating" panels in a rail and stile door. The balls are just a hair larger than the slot so they pop in easily but are snug enough to not fall out while the panel is set in place. On my 10.5 x 18 panels I used 10 per panel with two on the bottom, two on the top, and three on each side. 5Good product -- except the oil leeching into the wood Everything about this product is great except that they leaked. I followed the instructions and reduced my panels 5/32" per side, but after sitting assembled for a couple of weeks I noticed an oil leeching into the wood. The manufacturer says this happens when you compress the balls too much; but I did as instructed.Be warned. 3Perfect These worked out perfectly. I put 2-5 balls in each piece depending on length, and covered them in sawdust to absorb any oil talked out in other reviews. Frames glued up perfectly 5Better when cut in half I bought these for some cabinet doors that I was making. After feeling them, I decided that they would be better suited for my project if they were cut in half. I cut my raised panels 3/16" shorter than the stiles. I placed one half a ball in each corner of the rails. This made only 1/32" of compression on each side of the panel which is enough to keep the panels from rattling around in the frame. It also aided in the ease of assembly since it was mild compression.Hint: Stain the edges of your panels prior to assembly. Since these are floating panels, you don't want to see white wood when the frames and panels expand and contract. 4I put 3 of them in each rail and stile and the panels are wedged in there nice and tight Never have rattling cabinet doors again! I put 3 of them in each rail and stile and the panels are wedged in there nice and tight. The first one I built, I undersized the panel 3/8" (to give a 3/16 gap all the way around for the balls). This worked, but I could still move the panel around if I tried. It made me think if the panel ever shrunk, then it would rattle. I made the next doors and undersized the panel by 1/4". This compressed the balls much more and I'm pretty confident the panel will never rattle. 5Five Stars Just as expected. 5
