Customer Reviews

Works great. Saves a lot of money on zip loc bags.Works great. Saves me a lot of money on zip loc bags.I bake a lot of bread. When the loaves are large, I make large sandwiches. Regular baggies are never large enough, and many times not even quart size bags are enough. I have put sandwiches in gallon bags before, but that's wasteful, and embarassing. Using plastic wrap instead is ideal.I had a 750 sq ft roll plastic wrap I bought at Wal-Mart. The rolling "cutter" was so horrible (even when it was kept free of residue) that it was very frustrating to use the wrap. I got the Wrap n Snap dispenser based on the reviews and am so glad I did. It is a pleasure to use. Always chops the wrap in a straight line, never fails, and no frustration. The walmart roll had over an inch of tube sticking out either end and I had to trim off a good bit on either end (with a bread knife) and it worked fine, but from now on I will buy the Stretch-tite rolls at Costco. 5Easy to use and the perfect sizeI hate the box with the serrated metal edge for cutting. The amount of time I have accidentally cut my finger on that serrated metal when I wasn't even using it, but rather reaching into the drawer for something else. This solved that issue with a much better looking, safer, and easier to use container. There's a lock to keep it closed, so you'll have to swing the latch when you're using it. Then you just pull out the wrap over your container and snap the lid down. That's it. No more trying to cut or rip the wrap. This fits the 750 sq ft stretch lite you can get at Costco perfectly. 5Fine once you set it up.Came in a box several times larger than necessary. Minimal instructions. I found it almost impossible to open the item, even with another person's help. This was a dangerous procedure because of the hidden blade, which a small label warns about. When I applied real force to the lid, it it flew open with a loud cracking sound revealing a small bag containing the 2 feet buried inside. No damage had occurred and I was able to install my roll of plastic wrap without any additional trouble. The dispenser works really well but if you buy it, be very careful setting it up. For me, ( and I don't give up easily) this bordered on the impossible. 5It Works!!!Nearly perfectly. Here's how it works. You lift the lid and trigger two buttons, one on each end. That frees the insert. You insert your roll of plastic wrap and pull the loose end out and back over the lid. Replace the insert. Now, the tail end of the plastic is running between two pieces of plastic. Those pieces have three curved cutouts at both ends and the middle. This allows you, after cutting, to pull the end out to the desired length. To cut, bring the lid down all the way. It doesn't feel like much happened, but when you let the lid up, the plastic is cut cleanly. The new roll end is again caught between the plastic pieces and ready for you to pull another. If you were to pick the loaded dispenser up and shake it, it's possible to bounce the roll around enough to pull the end back into the body of the machine, in which case, you just open the insert and reload. No big deal. I'm kind of stunned. I really didn't expect this kind of slick operation. If it matters, I have been using 100-foot Saran wrap in it. I see no reason for it to work any differently with other brands. The lid that you lift to grab the roll end sits about halfway ajar, but there is a simple one-hand twist latch that can hold it closed to keep it from crumb-catching if you like. I feels substantial and well made and will likely last long enough to be well worth the price. As related in other reviews, it probably won't take very large rolls. It comes with some soft rubber shoes, one for each side, that gives it considerable traction on a counter. But on my slick stainless counter or on top of my no-fingerprint enameled bread box, it's barely heavy enough to sit still reliably when you pull a length. That's not really too big a deal. It pretty well takes two hands, one to pull and one to push the lid down to cut, so you have a hand on the dispenser anyway. I'm going to rig mine with a sheet magnet glued to the bottom to stick to my steel counter or steel breadbox. Of course, no problem if it's attached with screws. The instructions specifically say that it won't work with foil. I suspect, though, that it may well work with parchment or wax paper.I bake all our bread, and I frequently need to pull a foot of wrap to cover a bowl during proofing. I intensely dislike fiddling with a plastic wrap box and the inadequate cutting edge provided. Plus, the box falls apart before I finish the roll. No more of that. As I said, IT WORKS! 5Look for instructions for use on YouTubeI ve always liked stretch-tite wrap from Costco but hated the box and cutter which always seemed to fail at about 1/4 of the way through...grrrr! I ordered this in order to avoid just throwing out the majority of the unused roll. I like this unit but the plastic composition seems brittle. I feel the need to be careful using it so that I don t break it but I can deal with it. My only real complaint is that there are no instructions for opening the unit. Many of the reviews mention getting cut while trying to load the roll. I googled instructions and found a YouTube video which helped me to get it open. I was surprised to find the instructions INSIDE the unit. I d suggest to the mfr that they place the instructions in the box but outside of unit itself. 4Seriously Great Plastic Wrap Dispenser.Ok, I would never have guessed that this dispenser could possibly be as good and easy to use as this is. No more tugging plastic wrap against a thin metal strip. You just reach up where the dispenser auto-feeds the wrap and pull out as needed. Tap the top down and it is cut instantly. Far less stretching and clinging to itself. If anyone told me I'd pay this much for a great dispense I would have said they are crazy. But after five years of using the great Stretch-Tite wrap from Costco, I found I would use it even more often than using plastic bags IF I had a good dispenser. It is sized only for the large Costco rolls and this is for these rolls that are a little longer tubes than other grocery store brands. Well worth the price! I expect it to last many years. 5It works with any brand I tried!I just received mine, I tried a roll of glad plastic wrap that my wife bought at the local store and it worked with no issues. The roll was 300 ft and works great. I also tried some wax paper that wasn t from the company that sells this product. Just make sure that the roll only 12 inches long and under 750 feet. It didn t matter what brand I used it works, as long as I stayed with in the dimensions. This product isn t like other products it doesn t have guides that goes into the end of the role. I Just drops roll into the compartment and thread plastic wrap through and it works as it should. 4This is the best plastic wrap dispenser I have ever used.I have always had problems with the cardboard boxes plastic wraps come in. No matter how carefully I opened them, they always started to all apart before the used up the roll of wrap. This dispenser is well made, heavy enough that it stays in place as I wrap something. I especially like the cutting mechanism; just close the top and the wrap gets a clean cut. When I need a new piece, there are indentations in the dispenser that make it easy to grab the ends of the unused roll. The wrap doesn t fold back on itself and become tangled. One note, you can only use Stretch-Tite wrap in the dispenser. Be sure to order some when you order this dispenser. 5Frankly, I'm surprised that this wasn't a waste of plastic. It works REALLY well.I really expected this to take up way too much space and just be a waste of plastic, but I changed my mind. It really works very well. It is too big to fit in the drawer with my aluminum foil, etc., but the top of the refrigerator is actually a really handy spot. Frankly, we got lazy about properly wrapping our food before, because it was just such a chore to get the box out, deal with how poorly it cut, and so on. But now it's so easy to pull this dispenser down that all our unused food is still fresh the next day, making less food waste.Just make sure you've got the plastic wrap going over the roller and between the two guides (which have nice little scallops cut out for grabbing the sheet). 5Works like it should, makes life just a little bit easier...This is a great item and worth every penny. I have used Stretch-Tite film from Costco for many years and have always been a little frustrated with the packaging. Yes, it comes with a serrated edge on which to tear off a sheet and also a sliding cutter on a plastic rail that fits over the serrated edge, but it requires opening the box very carefully and feeding the leading edge of the film through a small slot. Yeah, it works, but if the lid gets a little torn or the box gets a little banged up in the cupboard, pulling out a new sheet gets very clumsy. Plus, you have to find and unscramble the leading edge of the film before getting another sheet. Not exactly a life-shattering experience, but annoying nonetheless. The Wrap 'N Snap 7500 Dispenser avoids all of that. Open the lid, drop in a roll of film, pull the leading edge out over the front of the dispenser, close the lid and DONE. For the next sheet, the leading edge of the film is held nice and straight inside the dispenser, just pull out what you need and close the lid. Nice, neat and clean. The dispenser has enough weight to it and little gripper feet in front so that it stays in place on the counter while in use. Set your dish in front of the dispenser, pull out enough film to cover it, close the lid and wrap.I love it when a device just does what it is supposed to do. Easily worth the price. 5
