Great Product AFTER I Did a Little AlterationThe little girl in the product's main picture would have the sides of her neck rubbed raw if she weren't wearing a turtle-neck.There is a piece in the back that is much too long and the shoulder straps originate from that piece. On my son, if I completely tightened the shoulder straps, they rubbed the back and sides of his neck. If I left them loose, I felt concerned that they could slide off.He is 15 mo and 24 pounds.I took the strap in the back, folded it down, and stitched it. After I made that little change it fits him great. Sorry my photos aren't so good, photographing a 1 year old is tricky! The first photo shows how it fits after I stitched the strap down. 4LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS ITEM.I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS "LEASH". I have more compliments on this then you would imagine. My daughter who is 19 months old loves it because she is very independent and when she has this own she feels like she is on her own even though i have the other end in hand. Its very convenient and the its fits her very well which i was worried because she is petite. She is also very picky with things being attached to her so I questioned that as well. NOPE have not had one problem with her wearing this. Its very comfortable to her. The length is perfect its not to short and not to long. I will actually be buying another one so have as backup. 5Works perfectly!I didn't like the "leash" that came with this, so I bought an inexpensive leash from the pet store. The harness alone though is worth the price. My son gets super excited when I pull it out because he knows he gets to get out of the stroller and walk "on his own." I haven't had any sideways looks from anybody, but even if I did I wouldn't care. This product is worth every penny if it keeps my active child safe and near me. Id rather get sideways looks than not have my son asleep in my arms at the end of the day. I'd buy it again! 5Plastic leash slips off easily -- UNSAFE PRODUCTTHIS IS NOT A SAFE PRODUCT!!! I'd like to give this 0 stars. The latch on the leash came off when my son was in the parking lot and I had luggage I was struggling to get in to car (6mo pregnant, on a west to east coast trip by myself with 23mo son -- really needed an extra pair of hands or a leash that WORKED). The problem is that the latch is cheap plastic, not even as nice as the metal pull down latch on pet leashes. Because of that, its prone to getting tangled in the plastic anchor that is on the chest band and slipping off, especially if you have an active child running around with it for a while. My son was running circles around me in the car rental store, we went to the car and I was putting luggage in when the leash slipped out and he ran right out from between cars into the parking lot while I was screaming and dropped luggage and nearly tripped trying to get him. Thankfully no cars were coming through but it was a busy lot and he could have been hit. TERRIBLE. They should put a higher quality latch on the leash part, one that does not so easily slip off.Also, this is NOT an easy product to get on a toddler or to adjust to the size. I agree with others, the toddler in the photo has a turtle neck on, otherwise her neck would be rubbed raw. The straps do not adjust in enough places to help it fit well. The velcro is really hard to get it to line up well so that it velcros enough and is secure, snaps or a loop to loop it through and then velcro to secure would have been better.My overall take is that this is a good product that took too many short cuts, too cheap, made too many bad decisions for cheap construction that ultimately render it frustrating and unsafe to use. I will probably just sew my own, to my liking and fit, for my toddler -- and it will be safer and better. 1More plus than minusSturdy enough to have a good grip on a toddler and prevent them from falling. Also this Nana has a bad back and purchased it to avoid bending as often. Great for that. Gives the little one more freedom to explore when not hanging on to my hand. However, the straps in the back are too close and rub against the child's neck. I am buying a couple sleeveless hoodies to help with that hopefully. Perhaps the straps could be spaced farther apart and be made of a softer cording to help with the issue. Or have a set of Velcro pads for the straps. 4Served its purpose as a Disney World security blanketI purchased this leash (let's be honest, it's a leash...) specifically to use on a trip to Disney World just to avoid my 4-year-old from being separated from the group. I wanted something that was not too bulky and that could be put on and taken off easily as she was not going to be wearing it the entire time we were there. At the time I purchased it, I was not positive that I would be using a stroller while there (I did, thankfully), so I thought I might get a lot of use out of this one.It is nothing special. It strapped easily around her chest and back, and the attachment is centered well so as not to pull off balance if the kid takes off running. It was light and even when the strap was removed she did not mind wearing it around. I only used it a few times, so I am not sure how well this might work if someone wants to use it regularly.According to the description, the shoulders are padded. I suppose that is technically correct, but the padding is not all that thick. It isn't something I really noticed when using it.The strap itself is about three feet long which might not be lengthy enough for some uses, but it was fine for my own. The strap itself is not flexible--that is, when it gets tight it is tight. Some leashes have a bit more give to them. Again, for my purposes, this worked just fine.If you are looking for something for everyday use or for certain outdoor environments, this probably would not be sufficient. I also do not know how well it would work on a smaller child, although mine is petite (about 35 pounds). It might not do as well on a smaller toddler. 5An adjustable strap would be so nice.We use this in our backyard with our toddler. I strap it onto our clothe's line so that he can run around and play in his sandbox while I work in the garden next to him. He has a sense of freedom and I have peace of mind that he is safe and not running off since we do not have a fenced in backyard.My only wish is that the strap was longer by 6' or so. An adjustable strap would be so nice. 5When you accept the leash you love the leashWe swore we'd never be those parents, but our little kamikazi kid needs a leash sometimes. Don't try to fool yourself by getting one that looks like a monkey backpack. If you need the leash get the leash. Our kid is much calmer when she's able to have a little bit of freedom to walk and we don't have to worry about her complete lack of survival instincts. 5Awesome Harness!I love, love, love this harness. My son is notorious for running off in the store. This product is simple and a great price. It doesn't cut into him at the shoulders. The harness offers a snug fit, without being too tight. It is adjustable, via the Velcro closure. I love that the the Velcro is in the back, so little hands can't undue the harness and slip out. This product also offers several variations on how to use the "leash". Handheld or hooked to a cart/stroller. Awesome product! I would recommend this to any parent with antsy-pantsy children! 5Plastic snaps and D brackets not goodI bought 2 of these for my 22 and 24 month old grandchildren. The third time using them the plastic D bracket that the strap conects to broke on one. This allowed the strap to come loose from the halter. Luckily I was in a store so I could easily grab the grandchild. If this had happened in a parking lot it could have been horrific 1
