Too big to be convenientI think this is too big and the way you have to slide the 3 sections to get at the contents inside I find annoying. I wish I had just gotten a single salt cellar. Oh well, too late to return it now or I would. 2GOOOOODLet me tell you... do not believe the bad reviews about this on here. It actually works is beautifull vgood quality and WELL BALANCED. It doenst fall 5Cute but needs workIt s a super cute concept but it s not very efficient sometimes I have to fight with it to open just one compartment. I ll rotate to get salt from the bottom but the other two are some how opening too. It does hold everything in so far no accidents 3Great Item!I didn't need another saltcellar, I have two of them but this one caught my eye and I love the design, and the fact that it was bamboo made it even more appealing. I really like this very much and glad I bought it. Looks great on my counter and is very functional because it's three seasonings in one holder so it takes up much less space. I make my own seasoning salt so it's in there along with my own cracked peppercorns and kosher salt. The saltcellar sits on my counter where I'm working and it's always right at my fingertips. Though it's closes well enough to keep air out it still flips open with the flick of your finger. It was well packaged and delivered on time. I definitely recommend this "gadget". 5Looks good, handy, well balancedThis works exactly as you'd hope. The magnets keep the lid over the top box and help align all the pieces so it looks slick on the countertop but aren't so strong you are fighting to salt your dinner. The product is well balanced - it doesn't tip over when the bottom section is opened up, even when the section is empty. We keep a smoked salt in one section, which has a very strong odor, and this doesn't contaminate the other two sections.Although this had a noticeable odor when it arrived the odor wasn't different than other pressed bamboo products I've bought. Two thorough washings with soap and hot water and the smell is gone. 5which means like a number of other customersThis shipped in a padded envelope and not a box, which means like a number of other customers, it arrived broken. It looked nice, but on closer inspection, we found the cracks all the way down either side of the metal hinge that links the tiers.Regarding other reviews I read here: the magnets worked on the version I received (though the wood is unfinished so it scratches whenever you move it). I think it's really just a gamble on whether this arrives functional or not. It seems like a lot of it could be avoided if they just used a box instead of an envelope. 1I like this!I cook all the time, and I find that I'm always having to locate all the canisters that contain the seasoning I use frequently. Then, with salt, I end up dumping a pile into a small bowl anyway, so I can have easy access to it while I'm in the different stages of cooking. This is nice because it keeps all of the major seasoning I use together in one place. I don't know if you can tell either, but the tiny, silver dots in the picture are magnets that help keep the canister closed, but they're not so strong that it's impossible to open up again if you're using one hand (with the other one messy from cooking). Yes, you still have to worry about contamination, but that's with anything in the kitchen. So keep a clean hand for seasoning and one for handling, and you should be okay! 5Needs a Counter BalanceThis works for what I needed it for, but any purchaser should know it's not counter balanced. In other words when you open any one section the entire thing falls over. If you don't hold it the entire time you have it opened, you'll have a mess on your hands. It probably should have had a long narrow extension piece that reaches the tabletop, attached to each section, so when opened it keeps the tower balanced. 3Bad qualityThe quality is very poor. It seems like the "wood" is not actually wood but a type of veneer or plastic. It's coming lose. I may return this as it doesn't look like it will hold up 1Poor quality controlLove the look but mine does not sit flat. The stick holding the three parts together is curved so each unit does not actually sit flat on top of each other.. poor quality control. 2
