Customer Reviews

Doesn't lastThe pot worked well in the beginning but the inside coating started to chip and scratch under normal use when I only use plastic/silicon utensils. I would not recommend buying this product to anyone. My Caphalon pots and pans I had previously lasted 8 years and I mainly replaces them for a change in color/style. I'll be going back to Caphalon and stick with them 1If You Love to Cook This is The Best Cooking Pan for You or as a Gift to Someone Who DoesSeriously, I have been trying to find a good fry pan that cooks and cleans without to much trouble. This pan is incredible. Follow the directions for preparing pan with small amount of cooking oil and your eggs will slide off the pan like cars on ice. Cleaning the pan is the next best thing to cooking, wipe with paper towel. A small amount of cooking oil or (butter) and you can saute with ease. Careful to not slide your food onto the stove when you are cooking. I am Arthur Ramirez and I approve this message. No Campaign money was used.. 5Don't Buy This PanI bought this pan a little over a year ago. I cured it as directed and have used it with great care. It began scratching using non scratch utensils and it also started sticking, despite repeated curing. The "Lifetime Warranty" is meaningless as it does not cover "normal use" only "defects". Is a pan advertised as non-stick and non-scratch that does scratch and stick not defective?Only buy this if you want to pay $35 for a pan that only lasts about a year. I would never buy another Tramontina product. 1Low quality and very disappointing.Revised review: Nov 30, 2015: I have only used this pan for a little over two months. I originally loved this pan. Unfortunately, it has not lasted. The pan now has small chips both on the inside and the outside of the pan. The chips on the outside bottom of the pan are especially unacceptable, because we have a ceramic cooktop and the chipped surface will scratch the cooktop. I have used this pan regularly, but wash was it by hand. It has never been in the dishwasher. Also, we use it gently for just two people. Since this was made in Italy we expected it to be high quality - but it is not. The non-stick surface has also worn off. Very disappointing.Original review Sept 2015: Love this pan and lid! This high quality pan is very well made. It cooks perfectly and cleans up beautifully. It is a perfect size. You can cook a large meal or a small meal. It is worth every penny. Made in Italy means high quality. 1Excellent in Every Way! Highly recommend!I bought a small non-stick1-qt saucepan several years ago. It has survived being left on the burner without water many times. It's never burned on the bottom and only twice in all these years have I had to clean baked-on stuff in the pan. When I needed more pans I looked at this little saucepan and saw it was made by Tramontina. It so happens I found a set of skillets at Costco and they also were Tramontina. I have food allergies and I cook constantly, so my pans get a LOT of use. I can't say enough about Tramontina. No matter what abuse they get from me they hold up and continue to perform at optimum levels. The non-stick coatings never stick, never look crummy, and the bottom never burns. I did burn my stock pot, and I decided to replace it with this 3-quart saucepan. I have arthritis and the weight of my cookware is an issue. Tramontina gets excellent ratings in every area--the non-stick surface never sticks, the outside never chips, burns or gets discolored, they are lightweight and easy for me to use, and they heat beautifully on my electric range. Overall their pricing is not only reasonable, it's lower than most and economical. I won't buy any other brand now except Tramontina! 5Great, safe, prettySo far I'm really loving this pan. I made the switch to all cast iron pots and pans recently after all the research came out about the dangers of Teflon. There are a few things, however, that don't cook well in cast iron. One of those things is tomato soup and another is just boiling water to make pasta. I needed to search for the best alternative, After an embarrassing amount of hours spent researching alternatives, I found that ceramic coated pots were the best option. I am really loving this little pot. It is dishwasher safe but I hand wash it instead to protect the integrity of the coating. I love that the pot is red because I love red in my kitchen. I also love that the lid fits tightly on the pot for boiling water. I waited to review this pot until I'd used it more than a few times so I could comment on how well the coating stays on and how well it cooks other items. So far, so great. I'm glad I chose this pot, it's a great addition to my kitchen arsenal. 5truly non-sitckI've only been using it a couple of weeks so can't attest to durability. But otherwise this is a great pan. Comfortable to hold, even heating, sides have the right slope, and the least sticky non-stick pan I've ever owned. In fact, food slides so easily it's sometimes difficult to get a spatula under it, it just pushes away.UPDATE: It's been 10 months and the pan, after nearly daily use, is no longer non-stick. I suppose that's a decent life for non-stick pans, but I can't see adding to the landfill every several months, so I'm going to try a carbon steel pan. 5Love this pan!I have a large stainless set from Tramontina that I have used and loved for more than 10 years. I really wanted to try ceramic and this was on sale so I bought it. It's perfect. Great on the cooktop and in the oven. I got the copper color and it's so pretty. Nothing sticks to this thing and cleaning is beyond easy. I usually just rinse and wipe. I am going to buy more of these for sure. 5A great non-stick pan for about 6 monthsI love cooking, it's one of my passions. So obviously I go through a lot of non-stick pans. I also always buy non-stick pans with non-toxic coating, and I feel like I've tried most of what is out there, ceramic, water based, etc. So far, my experience is that around after a year of owning a non-stick pan, the non-stick feature is lost, and most food tends to stick to the pan, ESPECIALLY eggs! Actually eggs are a complete nightmare when the non-stick is not new anymore. So I kind of just accepted that with the amount of cooking that I do, I have to buy a new non-stick pan every year.A friend of mine, who is a chef, suggested to try the Tramontina one, as its one of the best out there, so I ordered one on Amazon. The Tramontina has a ceramic coating, so it's super safe. Another thing that impressed me is that they offer a lifetime guarantee on it, with obvious exceptions of abuse and improper use. So hopefully if they feel confident enough to offer this warranty, maybe the pans are built to last longer?Obviously only time will tell. As of right now I only had this pan for less than 3 months, so it's too early to tell if this pan is different than the others. After a year I will update this review to reflect the performance of the pan at the critical 1 year mark. What I can say so far is that this non-stick has probably the best non-stick surface of all the ones I've tried. It's so slippery that most things you could easily cook without any oil or fat and they would not stick! It also feels good in the hand, it's nicely built, the silicon handle feels great, and the weight is just right, not too heavy, not too light. So far I'm quite impressed with this pan so I feel like it deserves 5 stars. Will see how it goes after one year!01/24/2016 Update: the nonstick pan has unfortunately lost a good amount of the nonstick quality. Re-seasoning the pan with oil temporanely solves the problem but it doesn't last very long. I would still say it's probably one of the best nonstick pans I bought, but I decided to remove one star because it's not even a year and I have to keep reseasoning it otherwise the food will stick.01/29/2017 2nd Update: I now refer to this as the 'STICK pan' because everything sticks to it, so even though I handled it with kid gloves (using only the soft side of the sponge to wash it, not the scrubber side, avoiding thermal shock, using only silicone spatulas, etc...) it's pretty much useless as far as nonstick goes. It was a fantastic pan for about 6 months or so, and slowly got worse until about the year mark when it became crap. At this point, reseasoning does nothing to improve it. Guess it's time to search for a new nonstick.7/15/2017 3rd update: I really don't know what to make of this pan. After everything started sticking to it like crazy, I realized that I'd just have to buy another. Out of desperation, I started using butter (instead of olive oil) to fry things, until I had time to get myself another pan. Once I switched to butter, nothing sticks anymore, not even eggs! It's almost like it's a different fry pan now. I've never heard that butter worked better than olive oil, and I don't understand how butter could possibly have made such a huge difference, but it did! I haven't made the switch back to olive oil, because I'm afraid things will start sticking again. For now, I fry only in butter, and the pan works well. I raised it back to a 5 star rating with this new development (from a 3 star). If things start sticking again, I'll change the rating accordingly. Has anyone else had a similar experience when frying with butter vs. oil? I really don't get it. 5Highly recommended nonstick panWe used this pan while staying at a vacation rental and could not believe how our eggs etc absolutely did not stick; quite a change from the pans we have at home. I immediately ordered the pan and we love it. Recently I wanted to cook breakfast on our move day, but had already packed the oil (and spatulas), and dared to cook eggs with no oil (and used a fork to flip)....no problem! It lifted off as if I had used oil/no prying required from fork... LOVE this pan.Have been living outside of the US for a little over a decade and somehow missed this whole wave of ceramic cookware (still struggling with very sticky all-clad pans that i thought were still high end). Will be expanding and replacing all cookware with ceramic. I have not tried other ceramic brands yet. 5
