    expensive but it s worth it!!! This is the most expensive rice cooker i ever purchased but it does an excellent job in keeping your rice freshly cooked and warm even after 36hours. It doesn t burn the rice at all even if it is sitting on warm mode for long period of hours.White Jasmine rice and Brown rice is cooked so perfect! The only cons I can give is it takes longer to cook than the typical walmart brand, an average of 52minutes even if you only cook 1cup. But I am okay with long slow cooking and yet it comes out in perfect texture.When turning on and when rice is cook the unit plays a music, just put smile to your face. 5Great quality. Be ready for long cook times, though. This ricemaker keeps rice hot all day. It also has a timer. You can program it to have fresh rice ready when you wake up in the morning or get home from work. Cook times are 1 hour for white rice and 90 minutes for brown. If you are in a hurry, the stove meathod is way faster, but your rice will not be nearly as fluffy. The 'quick' cook setting only knocks 10 minutes off cooking time and cant be used for brown rice. Quality and cleanup is a breeze. Highly recommended. 5It works well and is easy to clean I've been using this rice cooker (NS-LHC05XT) for about 3 months now. It works well and is easy to clean. Some things to note: takes about 1 hour to cook 1 or 2 cups (their measuring cup, which is just a tad over 3/4 Cup). I also used the "porridge" setting to cook steel cut oats. Use only about 3/4 the amount of recommended water, for oatmeal. It takes a long time. If you don't have an hour, skip this and cook your oatmeal on the stove! 5Foolproof sticky rice Great rice every time. I like the retractable power cord, which makes it very easy to store and transport. One important thing to note is that the "3 cups" refers to the cup provided, which is actually ~3/4 of a standard U.S. cup. We have found that we can easily provide enough rice for 5 to 6 people with this machine. The cooking process takes about 60 minutes, but it's foolproof. 5Quality product makes excellent rice. I debated whether or not I should buy this 3 cups version or the 5.5 cup version (NS-TSC10). I bought this one because I thought that 3 cups might be too much. On my first try, I made 3 cups and the rice come out excellent, though it filled the entire pot making stirring a bit problematic and messy. I thought the cooking pot should be a bit larger to accommodate stirring since that's recommended in the guide.That's my only complaint and it's a fantastic quality unit. I did return this for the larger unit and I expect I'll be equally happy. 4Perfect single serving of jasmine rice with zero effort. I bought this to replace my old GE rice cooker. I have never had such a wonderful bowl of rice in my life. The grains were perfectly cooked through and yet not mushy or melded together. That was impossible to attain with the GE rice cooker. I am single so being able to make one serving of rice is priceless. The GE rice cooker was not happy unless 2 or more cups of rice were made at a time.The size of this machine is perfect for my small counter tops.This one also weights quarter of what my old rice cooker did and the handle is handy.The huge selling point is that I love jasmine rice. this unit has a dedicated setting for jasmine rice. That was my first bowl out of the machine and it is amazing! 5Why did I wait so long? I have owned a couple of the pot style rice cookers sold in the $20 to $50 US range and found they had problems with boiling over, scorching the bottom of the rice and did not hold rice at temperature for any length of time, making them hard to use for a person with no fixed time to get off work. My Asian friends told me Zojirushi or Tiger rice cookers were the way around these issues and they were spot on. I have had this for about a week now, have made one batch of sushi short grain rice that rivaled any I have had in sushi houses, have had fresh, hot rice jook (rice porridge) two mornings this week, oatmeal one morning (check the Zojirushi website for cooking compatiblity on machines that don't have the specific functions) and fresh, hot white or brown rice ready for me when I got home, one time at 17:00 and twice after 21:00, so I can definitely say that the keep warm function works. My only regret is not buying one of these machines five years ago! 5Happy! Downsized from 10cup to 3cup rice cooker! Downsized from 10cups Zojirushi to this 3 cup Zojirushi rice cooker (NS-LHC05XT).I eat rice very frequently but when I cook just a few cups in a 10cup rice cooker it dries out very easily and takes a lot of space.So I finally broke down and downsized to this 3 cup Zojirushi and am very happy I did!PROS:- Compact! Saves space in the kitchen- Still have all the function I need (Brown rice, porridge, white rice, mixed rice, jasmine rice, quick, keep warm and 2 timer settings)- Good price for what it does and quality (Paid $149+tax)- Comes with rice cup & rice scooper- Very easy to use, really.- Rice always comes out perfectly!CONS:- MAKE SURE TO HIT "CANCEL" when you are done! (or just unplug)***This was a total slap in my face. I have owned MANY rice cookers in the past and this is the first rice cooker that doesn't cancel on its own when I pull the bowl part out. I was NOT aware of this and my rice cooker "stayed warm" until the next morning when there was NOTHING inside, not even a bowl.***Zojirushi, please fix this!- Rice bowl thing keeps rotating when trying to scoop. There is no "stopper" function so when I try to scoop rice the bowl keeps rotating inside the rice cooker, and am concerned this might damage/scratch the bottom of the cooker. My 10cup rice cooker had a handle on the bowl that secured to the rice cooker which prevented from rotating.Overall I am happy with the quality of this product and I would continue to buy Zojirushi brand for my rice cooker. 4Why spend more? Because it is more than worth it. If you are wondering why a rice cooker should cost so much...it is because it can really cook rice so much better. This is my second Zojirushi rice cooker; the last one I couldn't take with me and was 5 years old. This one is even better because it lets you know when the rice will be done (the previous one was a mystery until the 10 min countdown). If you use the measuring and water level accurately--perfect rice. Sushi if you like sticky, normal if you want a sauce on it, GABA if you want the healthy rice to make a bowl. Fantastic purchase.Don't cheap out on this aspect. It is important to get quality here and this is quality. 5... it doesn't cook rice well- it does do a great job. BUT Can't complain that it doesn't cook rice well- it does do a great job. BUT! I've been cooking rice for over 35 years as I've used far cheaper rice cookers that's just as good for white rice and in far less time than anhour. In my opinion, it's not worth the expense, unless you cook a lot of other types of specialised rice. 3
