Customer Reviews

BOARDS are PERFECT - BAG ??Have been using BCW "acid free" boards for many many years and their quality have not changed. PERFECTION!Bags are perfectly sized for these boards. Past, I've always used U-Pro bags which are labeled as "acid free" right on packaging. BCW bags have no such wording on package. Am not going to ding them a star, but going back to U-Pro.As for BCW bags themself, they are perfectly formed for BCW boards. If you are doing 5-10 comics a week, they are perfect. I am in process of re-bagging/boarding my collection, and have been doing 300-500 a night, until I ran out of bags/boards. The "perfect" sizing of board to bag does not allow me to put board in middle of comic, AND make bagging of thicker comics a problem. Also, such perfection make process of folding in flap take extra couple seconds - 5-10 comics a week, this is not a problem. Extra effort for this first 100 bag/board gave me a headache.IF boards were a millimeter smaller in width and length, no change to bag size, I would jump on these like Yogi to picnic basket! 5Comics don't fitThese bags are too small. Most of my comic books from the 90's don't fit. I mean, some of them will fit in the bag, but they have to bow in the middle to get them to fit. I was looking to replace some of my original bags that are getting yellowed and have rips. Heck, with my old bags I could fit about 4 comics per bag and board, or two extra big special comics per bag and board. The first picture shows the fitment, the comic is just a hair smaller than the backing board, which barely fits in the bag. The second picture shows the comic being rumpled slightly inside the bag. Now I have 200 bags and boards that I can't use.... 1Read the description...These sleeves came exactly as described. I have had zero issues with them fitting standard sized comics. Will they fit larger comics or multi-issue books? No, but they're not supposed to. The fit is snug and secure. If you're looking for something to store issues that come out of the plastic regularly, look somewhere else. It's not difficult to get a board and a comic in the sleeve, but they don't slide in and out easily. These are obviously meant for more long term storage. They close well and are (supposedly) acid free. I have also found that they are great for filing away old photographs. Neither the boards or the sleeves stick to the photos, even after extended storage. I have only had these for a couple of months, so I might update if I find that to be untrue after a couple years in a filing box. As of now, I would order again. They also came packaged well in a separate cardboard box. So, I don't have a stack of empty sleeves and boards sitting on the shelf. 5Great Deal, Perfect FitI'll sum up at the start for people who don't want to ready my whole review: These bags and boards were perfect.I don't read a lot of comics in general but I read the canonical comic followups to the Buffy and Angel series. I pick them up from my local comic book store every few months so I can read them a few at a time. Last year I kept buying them when I didn't have time to read them, and then by the time I did I couldn't remember where I put them! As a result, I was missing a few issues and was falling far behind in Buffy Season 9 and Angel & Faith. I mentioned this to the guys at my local shop and they sold me a short box to store them in so I would stop losing them. When I got home, I hunted all over the house and tracked down almost all of the issues--they still barely filled the box even halfway! Because of this they kept falling and bending and I realized I better get some bags and boards to keep them from getting damaged. I know they sell those at my local shop as well, but I needed a lot and I was worried it could get pricey. So I did what I always day and scoped things out on Amazon!I put everything together last night, and these did the job perfectly. People saying their comics don't fit are not reading the "Current" part of "Current Comic Book Bags and Boards." People saying the boards didn't fit in the bags must have gotten a bad batch because mine were all just right. The boards have a dull side and a slick, shiny side. I don't know if there is a standard way to keep them, but I put them in shiny side up figuring the comics might slide in and out easier that way. My back hurts a bit today from being hunched over stuffing all the bags, but now I feel that my comics are finally safe from being bent and lost. And for less than twenty cents per bag/board!I highly recommend these, and I will definitely be purchasing more. 5Bags too tightI guess it s a common problem. The bags are too small, or of inconsistent size. The last 100 bcw current bags and boards I bought seemed tight but I used them. These are unusable. I had a leftover bag of bcw current bags with no boards (go figure) from some time ago and tried them with a few of the boards from this order and they were fine. I could stuff a big fat annual in there no problem. You could see the new bags were smaller. They re cheap, easy to return. But I m gonna try a different brand. I think I might go back to my old routine of buying bags one size larger than my books from now on as well. 1My comics fit perfect, good qualityI was a little worried about ordering these with all the mixed reviews, but I m very happy with them. They are the perfect size for new comics. I have about 17 subscriptions or so at my local comic book store, so I wanted to save a little bit by buying my own bags and boards. These are great, the comics fit perfect, and they are thick enough for my storage needs. I m pretty sure they are the same ones my comic book store uses. One side is smoother than the other for ease of sliding the comic books in and out. I like that the plastic film has no adhesive on the flap because that can stick to the comics books and cause damage to them. I tuck in the flap like and envelope after I read them, and unread ones I leave out to help me keep track. 5One StarToo small for all comics 1Works great for what it advertises. For CURRENT size comics of todayPrior or ordering, I read that bag size is a concern. Some reviewers mentioned issues such as inconsistent size, size simply being too tight to fit "annuals," and how they do not come with adhesive sealing feature. I can say that I did not feel this way about the first two features. As the product name states, they're sized for the current comic book dimensions printed today. All of mine fit perfectly. As to the lack of sealant, um, the product does not advertise that it includes this feature, if you're looking for it, simply do not buy this product. Does not seem like a difficult concept to grasp. 5These bags and boards are a great buy for its price pointThese bags and boards are a great buy for its price point. Almost $16 (at the time of this review) with free Prime shipping for 100 bags and boards? Sign me up! My family has two moderate comic book collectors which means buying in singles or small batches isn't very efficient and, unfortunately, spending near $40 at my local comic book shop for the same amount of bags/boards makes my wallet weep (on top of all the comics we buy).Overall, they did the job. The bags are decently made (although the plastic is kinda "cheap" feeling) but you can tell that some of these bags have defects from production with some fitting the boards smoothly while others require a bit more careful force to put the board in the bag. A couple of the boards also had bends/curling on the edges which made it kinda awkward to use them but they were still useable. Since some people mentioned being shorted bags/boards, I decided to manually count each but thankfully, I was not shorted any bags or boards. No regrets on this purchase so far and I am willing to buy them again even with all the minor nitpicks. 5They're comics bags and boardsThese are decent quality comics bags and boards. Convenient that they come in a bundle. They don't have any adhesive pre-applied, but I've never actually seen bags that come with adhesive, so I was expecting what I got. They fit current to silver age comics well. Don't fit anything earlier than silver age or anything that's oversized (The Tick's original run, for instance). But they are what they are and do what they claim to do.I do wonder why anyone would ever purchase the two-pack, when two single packs are actually cheaper. 4
