    These are very nicely constructed and fit perfectlyI bought these to replace some plastic ones the previous owner of the home installed, and one of my guests put a chair through! These are very nicely constructed and fit perfectly. A must buy! 5Works perfectly Love the ALL METAL construction of these. No cheap plastic.Perfect I needed the 4x10 and they work perfectly. They came quickly and well packaged. These beat the crap out of those metal on the top plastic on the bottom. I love the designs on those but they don't hold up. Once the metal pops off the plastic part you can forget it it will never stay on decently again so they look nice for about 2 weeks then its a battle to keep the metal part on the register. These metal ones stand the test of time. I still have some that work great. I only had to get some new ones because several of them had rusted over time and I just did not want to mess with scrubbing them down and repainting them. These were the exact same color as my old ones and look fine on my wood floors.Accord if you really want to upgrade use the same all metal design but give options of the fancy metal decoration in black, brushed chrome, copper etc. You could put all those plastic jokers out of a job. 5Only Blocks 70-80% of Air FlowI bought this to replace a vent that had bent louvres. It fit the opening perfectly, but when it's closed a good bit of air still comes through. So now now I have to spend another $5 buying the magnetic vent cover and hope it works. In my old house when the vents were closed, there was no air leaking through. What's the point of being able to 'close' the vent? I'm not sure if this is just a poor design or they just don't make things like they used to.Update: I purchased the magnetic cover made by the same company. The magnetic sticks to my dryer and my refrigerator just fine. However it barely sticks to the supposedly steel vent and blows off as soon as the air comes on. 3Very Functional...Quite Stiff At First So Will Probably Need To Oil.Generally pleased with this purchase. I ordered five registers to replace older ones. My originals had lost the tops to their vent control levers making it too easy for the lever to be pushed accidentally below the opening.These were delivered quickly and exactly as ordered. No dents or scrapes and the brown color blends just as nicely with my wood floors as the originals. I do not really have any complaints but you should be aware of two things.1. These are VERY stiff when first received. So stiff that I could barely get the control lever to open them. Had to turn the register over and open the flaps manually. I oiled each flap joint on each register quite liberally. They loosened a little but it took about 3 days for the oil to lubricate each register fully. Now there is no issue. They open and close with ease using either hand or foot, just like my well-worn ones.2. These registers are very slightly smaller than my originals. No problem in them fitting over the vent or covering it completely, and they look the same so returning them was not a consideration. My originals fit snugly, though, and these fit just a little bit looser. Not enough to be off-putting or a a problem for me but I notice details and this is something apparent to me as soon as they were installed. Just looking at them, I doubt anyone else would notice such a slight difference. 4Nice but...No Screw Holes.........They fit almost perfectly in my duct opening, just a little loose. Duct openings are different, but none-the-less, they are uniform in their sizes. I've done a lot of register removal, replacements, etc over the years and every single one of them have had screw holes to secure them! These DON'T and since I've never seen any that hadn't before, wasn't something I checked to see if it had. After going over the listing it doesn't say it one way or the other, but the picture doesn't show it so it is what it is. I"ll drill the three I purchased out, but won't buy again! Only posting this in case someone else wants screw holes and doesn't notice! Also as noted in other reviews it won't block all the air and the thumb wheel is very stiff. I will try to spray with WD-40. We're using it in our 5th wheel we live in and only to block any warm air coming in during the hot summer where we're at not, figure every bit counts and the old ones were worn! 4Purchased 4" x10" color : Brown.Looked at the "Dutch Boy" paint color palate and the paint color that matches what we have is basket weave C14-3, spot on match in fact.I'd say the color is more in the tan range of brown color.The "wheel" for adjusting the air flow is easy to move in increments, I can slide it with a toe, so don't even need to bend down to get it!When it is fully closed, it is pretty air tight. I have one vent near my computer chair that I keep closed all the time and don't feel a thing from it when I am in the chair and the AC or heat kicks on.We live in a mobile home that is about 35 years old and I was really surprised we found registers to fit and this color was a bonus as it is pretty much the same color as what we replaced. Also amazed how this little change kind of spruced things up! 5Pretends to do its jobI just moved and when the old tenants moved out it revealed a missing floor register, it isn't a true vent- it's just a 4 x 14 inch hole in the carpet and floor revealing the ceiling below with not actual duct work. It annoyed me and poses a major twisted ankle risk so I bought this to stuff in. It was such a shallow hole I wasn't sure it would work but it did with the bottom louver in the closed position (not in the open). Satisfied just annoyed I had to pay for something so simple and obvious but that's how it goes when you downsize to get cheaper rent... 51st order great; 2nd order not at all greatI had twice ordered these registers. The first time I ordered 2 and was delighted with them. A week later I ordered these 5 and was very disappointed with what I received. There were 2 in the box that were exactly like what I'd ordered the first time but the other 3 in the box were not the same quality and the packaging that they arrived in were just plastic bags.If you have a customer who orders from you twice in a week, wouldn't you take care to make sure that they're receiving good quality and good customer service? Obviously, these folks don't care about that.I'm in need of about 5 more registers and I will make sure I don't order from this company again. 2So Far So GoodI bought four of these a couple of weeks ago and decided to wait and see how they do before writing a review. So far so good. The vents dropped into place with no problems and fit without a lot of shifting. Just make sure to order the right sizes. The metal they're made from seems to be a little soft and thin around the edges and may bend a little if you use them on any uneven floor or in area of high foot traffic. The color is a nice neutral tone that seems to blend in and disappear once you've placed them. Overall , i would recommend them as they seem to be well worth the price I paid. 4Nice Register, Vent Wheel Is Really StiffBought this to replace the plastic register that got broke when a ladder got sat on it when painting a while ago. It fit just fine in the vent cut-out (10" x 4"), although it seems to slide a little bit along the 10" side, but that may have been my fault, I may have needed a 12" or something, but it works just fine anyway. It seems to be made of pretty solid/sturdy metal material, and the color is really nice, a bit of a tannish brown.Only issue I could complain about is that the wheel for the vent movement is difficult to roll, so much so, I thought it had arrived broken somehow. 5
