When you use a 8" 22W fluorescent circline, the actual power consumption will be at least 25W, because the ballast will at least consume 3W. Our UL External Power driver will last at least 5-6 years. After 5-6 years, you may only need to replace the external power driver from us, because the LED circline may last another 5-6 years.
    • High quality UL external isolated power driver + Aluminum Chipboard + high lumen LED + Aluminum heat sink = Excellent cooling design = safety = long life-span = low lumen decay !
    • The product is only as strong as the weakest link. The capacitor decides the life-span of the power driver.     Love it!Every light in my 1800's farmhouse was converted to LED except the living room light because my wife couldn't part with the old fluorescent fixture until now. I found this light on Amazon and read some reviews and decided to pull the trigger. I was not disappointed! Now I did sort of mess up removing the old bulb connection. I should've left it there to hold the new LED light but it's ok. When I turned it on it was like the clouds parted and the sun was shining right in my living room! Well maybe not that bright but definitely brighter than the old flourescent one. I'd say compare it to the fluorescent on without the shade then with it off is like the LED. Make sense? I'm very happy and so is my wife. Happy wife=happy life.5The light only cast outward and down. This leaves ...The light only cast outward and down. This leaves the ceiling rather dark compared to when the fixture had a regular fluorescent light installed. Also the fixture is polished chrome, so light does not reflect from it either. Overall the light cast downward seems to be the same as the fluorescent.3Easy retro-fit kit. Wish there was a 16in version.We have three fixtures at our site that use on FC-12 and an FC-16 each. We recently did a conversion to LED and these were almost perfect for replacing the FC-12s. My one issue is that the connector on the lamp is a bit higher up as mounted causing the connector on the wires to be a bit tight against the back of the light fixture. However, they work well and were otherwise dead simple to install. We will see how they last.I hope AMATI will make a 16in version of this kit so that I can return the fixtures to their full brightness at some point.4Excellent Product Excellent ServiceI am an industrial Designer and have been looking at circline bulbs for some of my projects. Fluorescents were inefficient and did not reflect the quality of the rest of my designs. This is the only Bulb that i could find on the internet and took a risk purchasing it. When I received the was delightfully surprised. The housing is an aluminum casting and lens is polycarbonate, needless to say the attention to detail is great. I contacted the company with a few questions and had a great chat with the owner.I am very pleased with this product as well as the customer service that comes with it.5Was a bit of work but got working. Or pay a handyman to help.4Great productA bit expensive, but bright light at low cost, is worth it.5I installed this in a dual lamp fixture, this ...I installed this in a dual lamp fixture, this one lamp put out as much light as both of the flourecent tubes did. I added this lamp 8" UL Frosted Circline LED Cool White 4100K Long Life Plug-in Replacement for Circular Fluorescent Light Bulb, 22 Watt T9 Equivalent as the second tube and now have way more light in the kitchen than ever before.5but once we switched them the light worked fine. It's as bright as the CFL that was ...A little tricky to get installed - we had to modify the fixture that we had because it was made for a CFL that was smaller in diameter, but it wasn't too difficult - just had to attach different twist ties to hold the LED bulb. I have to agree with others - the installation instructions weren't as clear as they could have been - it does matter which wire is connected where - they're not equivalent, but once we switched them the light worked fine. It's as bright as the CFL that was in the fixture before but not quite as warm. But since it's an office fixture - it doesn't really matter and it's nice to know that we won't have to take this fixture apart every 6 months to replace the bulb. I would recommend this product. If you aren't really familiar with installing light fixtures and/or wiring, you might want to hire an electrician.55-star bulb, 3-star ballast, 2-star price, 1-star instructionsThe bulb itself is great. Good, white light. Lights instant. Works great. It comes with its own "ballast" or "LED driver". Whatever you want to call it. The 8" bulb had very short A/C leads, but, this 12" bulb's A/C leads were okay. But the wiring on the other side was not clear at all. It uses a 4-pin connector similar or the same connector as a regular circlite. The connector really should come hard-wired already to the ballast. Its not, you have to connect it, and it is not clear from the instructions. But, basically one pair of those 4 pin connector goes positive, the other pair goes to the negative. If you hook it up backwards, it doesn't hurt anything, just doesn't lite. You reverse the connector and it comes on. But, not clear at all from the instructions.And, as another poster posted, the price is so expensive that it really is hard to justify. Except that it will save me time in the future not having to replace the bulbs for years. Hopefully.So, great light, ballast inconvenient, price is high, instructions poor.4Five StarsIt's easy enough to install, and it's very bright.5
