Customer Reviews

Pretty much what several others wrotePretty much what several others wrote; both pans lighter weight and just didn't feel anything like the quality of the 10-inch skillet (ordered singly). I actually called Anolon before I made the purchase and referred to the negative comments. The customer service woman was aware and stated that the interior surface was the same, but the outside was made of a light-weight material. She assured me the quality was the same, however upon receiving these pans, I do not agree. Didn't even seem like Anolon! Oh, and the 12-inch pan is actually more like 13-inches and didn't seem to be round, like it was warped some. 1Do not buy this pan. Very disappointed.(I have had to re review my previous 5 star rating)I ve recently moved to the USA and I was pleased to find Anlon here is so much less expensive. This would retail for $150 or more in Australia.I loved this large pan. I had this same pan in Australia and it was my absolute favorite go to pan. Nice and big with high sides and great non stick. so I was so happy to have found it here on Amazon.I was first happy but my new pan warped under normal heat conditions!!The old Anlon one I had was perfect and I was able to use it for every different type of dish including seared salmon steaks and stir fry veg. I used this new pan on a standard ceramic cook top but it didn t tolerate even a few minutes of medium high heat, you could not even brown meat or pan sear fish! What a joke! No true chef or good cook will be satisfied with this sub standard material used. The exterior coating is fabulous and very non stick however the warping is a complete deal breaker and renders the pan useless and inappropriate for anyone who wants to cook properly. I m so disappointed as I have been a huge fan of my previous Anlon pans. I even brought a set for some friends as a wedding gift. I hope the ones they received weren t as hopeless as the one I purchased on Amazon. I was first thinking it could be a fake product but Anlon replaces it for me under warranty and the new one did the same thing first time I used it not even at the highest heat, just on the stoves medium heat setting. Very disappointing! 1DisappointedI'm an old chef.Have a 10 year old one of these that lasted for 6 or 7 years of regular use. Heavy thick and solid. Great saute pan. Finally gave out worn down to the aluminum. Still usable for non stick needs or frying.New pan just delivered is a light weight too thin and will scorch your food if not careful. Half the thickness of the old. Just cheap and thin. There's no heavy bottom and zero heat dispersion. It's thin and weak. If you're looking to cook in this you know what I mean. There's no and too quick heat retention.Consider cast iron. 2Great Non-Stick PanThis is a nice large pan. It's good as a skillet or for stir-fry. It has high sides that reduce splatters. The non-stick surface works great and it's easy to clean. The only thing that surprised me though is that it tends to have a hot spot (see update note below). I've noticed that things cook a little faster in the region closest to the handle. That seems strange to me. I have hot spots on my BBQ grill, but I've never noticed this in a pan before. I even tested it out by cooking batches of bacon and turning the pan around. No matter how I oriented the pan or the strips of bacon (north to south or east to west), the strips of bacon or the ends of the strips closest to the handle cooked faster. This pan looks nice, cooks well (except for the hot spot), and cleans well. The sticker on the pan says that it's safe to use metal utensils, but I don't plan on testing that.______________________________UPDATE (3/8/16):We've owned this pan for less than three months now. My wife loves it so much that she just made me order another one. That's about as high praise as I can imagine. The pan works great and cooks fantastic. I have a hunch that she's going to make me order her a third one for our RV.UPDATE 2 (July '16): We now own four of these: two in our home and two in the RV. That's about as high praise as I can think of. And about that hot spot in my original review...either I got used to it or it went away, because I can't find which pan had the hot spot anymore. We're all good now. 5Perfect size pan for feeding my family of 6!Probably the biggest problem I had when trying to figure out what size pan I needed was trying to make sense of the measurements the manufacturers give. 10"? 12"? 14"? What does that mean? Did they measure across the actual SURFACE of the pan or across the top from edge to edge? I was really confused. So I'm going to tell you about THIS pan, and what I found. The actual cooking surface of this pan (the bottom of it) measures 12" across. It measures 14" from edge to edge, across the top. The top of the pan is wider than the base, so that's where the 14" measurement comes from. I double or triple every recipe I make (2 boxes of hamburger helper, 2 boxes of rice-a-roni) and this pan EASILY accommodates these amounts. For a pan of this size, I found it very manageable. Some pans feel like lead weights and are a pain to use because they're so heavy. This one isn't and I really like that.Even better than that is the clean up. This pan is an absolute DREAM! Baked on, crusted on messes come right off with a wet cloth. Some things I can wipe off with a paper towel! I've used this pan hundreds of times and I can't imagine EVER having to soak this thing EVER! I seriously cannot stress enough how easy it is to clean. Now for the downside: THIS PAN IS HUGE!! It's a love/hate relationship. I love it BECAUSE it's big, but storing this beast has proven to be somewhat problematic. It is literally too big for any cupboard I have. When I was initially researching pans I was trying to find a pan without the super long handle. This pan does have the long handle and that's why it won't fit anywhere. I do think it helps while cooking though, but sometimes I really wish it wasn't there. I just keep it on the stove because that's the only place it fits.I've been using this pan for almost a year and it looks as good today as the day I bought it. The trick is to always wipe off grease from the outside of the pan before you use it again so it doesn't stain. The outside is vulnerable to staining if you don't do this. Also, it says it's dishwasher safe but once you put your pots and pans in the dishwasher we all know they never look the same. If you want to keep this pan looking nice, do not put it in the dishwasher! My only regret is that this pan didn't come with a lid. Since I was already confused about size, I wasn't sure what size lid would fit it. I ordered a 14" lid, and it fit perfectly. Hope this review helps those of you that had the same question I had. Overall, the cooking capacity and ease of cleaning outweigh any problems I may have with storing this pan. It's really a wonderful pan! I absolutely depend on the reviews of others before I spend my hard earned money. Hope this review helps! 5Holding up great! My husband is a pain about his frying pans. He is really rough on them. We go through A LOT of pans. I bought these in February- it is now April - two months of daily use, and they still look good. I read somewhere along the way, don t use detergent on good fry pans , just wash in plain water or just wipe clean. That seems to really work. It helps maintain the non -stick. 5I love these Non-stick Anolon pans from Amazon.I ordered both the covered 12" skillet and the smaller 8" skillet from the Anolon Advanced Bronze Collection and was delighted to see they are even better than I expected. The weight is ideal--impressive but not too heavy for my older hands, The finish shouts quality inside and out. Cooking with them is a step-up in ease of cooking and cleaning. Meat browns nicely with only a tiny drop of oil in the pan. Instructions say no oil is needed, and I may get brave and try that, but in the meantime, can report that both skillets are a pleasure to use for a variety of food I've cooked on my gas range, including eggs, steak, chicken, fish, grilled veggies, e.g. onions, potatoes, stir-fry, etc. Pancakes and French Toast browned without using oil. I particularly appreciate that the exterior finish is also non-stick and wipes clean as easily as the interior, This should extend the attractiveness of the pans for a long, long time. The bronze color is nice, but I would have ordered the stainless finish if the sizes I wanted had been on sale at the time. Note: I forgot just how large a 12" skillet is, and will be ordering a 10" soon, as I'm usually cooking for two.18 MONTH UPDATE: These pans were everything we wanted for about 12 monthsbefore the exterior non-stick finish began to break down and I was unable tofind anyway to keep them looking good. Another 6 months, and the inside ofthe 12" skillet had lost most of it's non-stick qualities, and was impossibleto clean. In all, these "better" quality" non-stick lasted just barely longerthan the less expensive ones and price considered, were not as economical.BTW: We are a 2 person household and we both love to cook and know how tocare for our equipment. These pans were never over-heated of abused, and werecleaned as instructed. In the 18 months of almost daily use of one or the other,I could count on one hand the times the pan was NOT hand-washed and put away after useand not just rinsed and wiped out. Only the small pan is still usable--but unsightly!Question: Should I now order "best" non-stick, and hope they're worth it, or justplan on replacement every year or so? 5Well-Made Kitchen WorkhorseThis pan is a workhorse in the kitchen. The hard anodized nonstick material is exceptionally durable. Solidly made, it has some weight to it but is not too heavy. My ony complaint is that I am disappointed with the color. I got the bronze deep skillet and it is no where as pretty and bright as shown on Amazon which I would have preferred. The bronze is dull and matches the inside of the pan. (And why couldn t they make a pretty red color?) I do love that it s deep and that it is a 12 pan because I make numerous dishes that require this big and deep of a skillet. Clean up is truly a breeze. I expect the pan to last a good long time. Aside from the color, and I can overlook that as it s a very neutral tone, this is exactly what I wanted. 4WARNING - Quality has been degradedI've been buying Anolon Advanced cookware for 10 years or more. I ordered 2 of these sets to replace the same type of skillets that I've had for several years. Unfortunately, Anolon has downgraded the quality. The new skillets are noticeably lighter & thinner than the ones I already have. Not acceptable! So now I have to go hunting for a better brand. 1Ones in twin pack are thinner and lighter...I needed to replace a 10-inch one I had bought a while back and noticed that the twin pack of 10- and 12-inch was actually less expensive. So, it seemed like a great deal. Unfortunately, as it turns out, the ones in the twin pack are much thinner and lighter weight than the original one. If you look closely, you can see that the shipping weight for the 10-inch is 3 pounds and for the 12-inch it's 6 pounds. The shipping weight for the twin pack is only 6 pounds total so if you want the better ones, better buy them separately. 3
