Customer Reviews

Good product. I read reviews so I had a good idea of what to expect. Bought 2nd pair.We have a lot of canned goods and this turned out to work perfectly for us. I don't really use the dividers except for the rows that I have smaller cans on. It took a little coordination to put it together but it wasn't a big deal. As long as you're not drunk it'll take you all of two seconds to figure out which way to turn the sides so the racks will fit. It feels like it's good quality and it's sturdy. I'm sure you could find thicker metal or plastic but for the application here that isn't necessary. It's holding cans, not body weight. I read a comment about it being cheap but mine feels pretty stable. I always take those reviews into consideration before making an amazon purchase. I like that it can be separated (it's just 2 can racks and the pair is cheaper than buying one by itself) so that when we move in future we'll be able to use it in a different kitchen. As of now, it's stacked. Obvious benefits are that I can utilize the vertical space in a cabinet and see where everything is located. Even if I have three different cans in a row at least I only have to move 2 cans to get to the one I need instead of tearing apart my cabinet to get to the mystery can in the back. For larger cans, I used the top row and one beneath it by using the upper support bar to make more space between the shelves which you can see in the photo. This works for us because I just don't have that many big cans. Best of luck! 5Don t waste your time with this can organizerAbsolutely the worst! The first time I received this can organizer I thought I just got unlucky and got one that was damaged, but when amazon sent me a replacement it was exactly the same. I could not get my cans to stay in place because they kept popping off. The metal wouldn t fit properly, and I think it was warped but it was so annoying. Maybe I got 2 bad products but it was just so frustrating after u try to set it up and metal hooks dont hook up, you just want to throw it across the room. Honestly, this product seems cheaply made with bad material. I don t know how the other people got lucky and got a good ones but trying it 2 times was enough for me 1Almost perfect! My decision to buy the Atlantic 23235595 Double Canrack was based primarily on the depth of the shelving within my pantry. After reading the a lot of reviews on this product as well as others, I was pretty much convinced that I couldn't go wrong, especially with the sale price. I am glad I did, because the product was well made, sturdy, and easy to assemble and suits my needs perfectly. From another review, I picked up on the fact that this double canrack was simply two of their single canracks packed into one box at a discount, and this is how I am using the product, as single canracks. Several reviewers mention assembly problems but if you pay attention to the need for the loop to point outward on the back panel during assembly (as indicated in their instructions), it is no sweat. Also, several reviews mention problems of getting larger cans into the bottom and middle shelves, and what I found is that theloop vertical space between each of the shelves can be increased by hanging the shelf in question on the higher of the two horizontal rungs that each shelf hangs upon. (These can be seen in the picture on the left and right sides of the unit.) The instructions actually indicate placing the shelf on the lower of the two rungs, but it also works to hang a lower shelf on the lower rung, and the shelf above it on its higher rung. Effectively in that way, you will have an extra 1 inch approximate vertical clearance to move cans in and out of the lower shelf, standard clearance on the middle shelf, and clearance on the top shelf defined by the pantry shelving above it. (Remember I am using this in the single rack, three shelf mode.) I debated about giving this product 4 or 5 stars, as it is currently designed, for my needs it would be absolutely perfect if it was about 1/2 inch or 3/4 inches in order to maximize the vertical spacing between the shelves, but this would not be possible unless they changed their design specs, and then it would be a taller product. I did manage to grab a pdf of their instructions for the product and wanted to upload it here to add to the review, but sadly I can not. In lieu of that I am including links to these below, from the company's website. Also, some specifics on dimensions for the double canrack:(in inches )Length: 15.25" Left To Right MeasurementWidth: 11.13" Front To Back MeasurementHeight: 23.25" Bottom To Top MeasurementWeight: 7.30 lbshttp://www.theatlanticstore.com/Instructions/Instructions_23235595.pdfFor the single canrack;(in inches)Length: 15.25" Left To Right MeasurementWidth: 11.13" Front To Back MeasurementHeight: 11.75" Bottom To Top MeasurementWeight: 3.60 lbshttp://www.theatlanticstore.com/Instructions/Instructions_23235594.pdf 5So close yet so far. Would not recommend.Tl;dr: This missed the mark on a bunch of factors to give an overall bad product. Not worth the frustration if you use cans regularly, will barely suffice as storage for infrequent users. This can rack has been an infuriating purchase for me. It has the potential to be an amazing 5-star product with just a few tweaks, i.e. it literally just needs another ~0.5" in each of its dimensions to be perfect. But as is, it just falls short in many aspects that make this basically unusable. I wished they had picked a preference for FOOD vs SODA cans and designed for either one specifically, but this seemed like it tried to accommodate for both, but in doing so, it failed to work well for either.CAPACITY:Disregarding all usability issues, it will fit 54 regular food cans comfortably or 72 soda cans extremely tightly.WIDTH:- FOOD: Fits 3 columns of regular food cans per layer well.- SODA: You can, but not really, fit 3 columns of soda cans per layer. This is only achievable if you tightly nest the base of the cans in a column into the top lips of the other cans in the next column. Basically, you can't use the dividers to separate the columns, each row of cans act like they combine to form a tension rod pushing on the sides of the rack, and because of that, all the cans are essentially stuck in their particular spot. So when you remove a particular can, the next can in the deeper row will not be gravity-fed (SEE PHOTO 1).DEPTH + related issues:- FOOD: Fits 3 regular food cans per column with lots of space left. Cans can be XL and still fit if discussing depth alone.- SODA: Fits 4 soda cans per column with enough buffer space left.- Problem: the inside edges of the lip on each shelf rack is quite sharp. In struggling to fit 12 soda cans per layer, the rack pierced through 2 of my cans (SEE PHOTO 2). Not sure yet if it is an accidental excess force on my part while struggling, or if the deeper cans are pushing the front cans onto the shelf rack with so much weight that it is causing the punctures.HEIGHT- FOOD: There is too little space between the layers even for regular cans. The lip at the front edge of the shelf decreases the width between the layers, so regular food cans don't fit through that opening edge anymore (SEE PHOTO 3). So it's okay when the cans are just sitting in the rack, but you can't easily pull a can out of the rack one-handed; you'll need your other hand to manually lift the shelf one layer up to create space for you to pull the can out. This is not only annoying but can also be heavy if that higher shelf is filled. Don't even think about putting any slightly larger or XL cans in the bottom or middle layers, they will absolutely not fit.- SODA: Fits fine.ENGINEERING QUALITYThe shelves and the width of the rack are not precisely engineered, so for some shelves, I had to push/pull on the sides of the racks to get the shelves to fit. This worked for some, but not all shelves. For the rest, I needed to fill up the shelves up so that the weight of the cans would hold the shelf down in place for them to not pop up out of alignment and lose their connection to the rack frame.Overall though, I will say the rack does seem stable when filled with cans.INSTRUCTIONSI don't generally rate products on the instructions, but in this case, the instructions depended heavily on pictures for orientation. However, the instruction sheet was a very thin sheet of paper with small pictures of terrible quality (SEE PHOTO 4), and it was so spotty that I had to strain my eyes to try and decipher what was going on. It almost gave me a headache.ANY SAVING GRACE?Barely. I think the dimensions mean that it'll fit in a standard cabinet. And it is quite stable all said and done.I'm only keeping it because I got it as a lightning deal on Prime Day, so for the price, I'm regarding it as a more-organized storage box. Also because I'm too frustrated and already spent too much time on it, to want to undo the process and return it. And I use cans so infrequently that I can probably deal with the annoyances once every blue moon. But I absolutely would not get it again, especially not if I am a regular can user, and definitely not at full price. 1READ THIS if you're having assembly/fitment trouble!Perfect for my deep dark pantry cabinets and stacks securely. Assembly is easy, but be aware that written directions want you to basically fold the sides 270 degrees from how they were packed so that the top hook is opening toward the back, but diagram erroneously shows feet bending inwards. If you do it based on the feet in picture rather than the more subtly shown direction of the hook, it won't go together without bulging and probably zip ties too as others have experienced. Stable and holds lots. I didn't catch description is that it's (painted) silver, would have preferred chrome, but no big deal. 52 Great Can Racks for the price of 1; with minor flawsThis is a great set...with some minor caveats.1: Make sure the hooks face out; that'll fix most structural/fit issues.2. Some customers (including me) got shelves & dividers that were warped either during shipping, or at the manufacturer. The result is a shelf that 'floats' because it's too bent to actually settle where it needs to---but at least in my case, when you put weight on it (like the cans this rack is designed to hold), the weight from the product makes the shelf lie in place.3. Warped dividers: in my case, some of these were twisted or hyper extended--the result is they don't latch on easily, and the ends are a bit 'pokey' because instead of folding over the edge of the shelf, they stick out. Fortunately, the dividers aren't strictly necessary---especially if you're going to be using the rack for cans of largely the same size.4. Don't try to lift the rack from the bottom; lift from the sides. The shelves/trays all rely on gravity and product weight to be held in place. It'll fall apart if you hold it from the bottom--even on accident. That said: you're actually getting TWO cans racks in heavy gauge metal for a very reasonable price. They can be stacked on top of one another as shown in the product picture, or used separately. The overall construction does seem to be very durable and of reasonable quality, even taking into account occasional warping. Make sure you pay attention to the product dimensions: I wasn't able to use these (even separated) where I initially intended because my cabinet shelf allowance wasn't high enough. Looking through reviews, warped shelves don't seem to be that common of a problem, and when the product is in use, for me the issue is self-correcting. I'm currently using them to hold canned vegetables---the standard size cans of Libby's and GV products. They hold 3 cans across & 3 cans deep on each row. 4Total disappointmentI was so excited to receive this, that is until I started putting it together. It is cheap and is very very flawed. Only tiny cans will actually work on this and once it's loaded there is no way to add anymore to the back without unloading the whole thing. So the concept of rotating your cans is impossible. Plus the dividers are super chinsy and don't stay in place. Returning immediately. Don't waste your money. 1Helpful shelvesI'm very happy with these shelves. I was hesitant to buy them because of some not so favorable reviews but for our pantry these are great! We don't have a lot of room and I was tired of stacking cans on top of each other where I couldn't see what we had or I was knocking all of them over to get another can out. Thanks to these shelves I can see what we have and get it out easily. On each shelf I can get 2 regular sized cans across and 3 cans from the front to the back. I leave a space in the middle where I put smaller cans that will fit such as tomato paste, mushrooms, or applesauce snack cups. We can sometimes get 3 cans across (notice in the picture the second row on the left has a can of green beans, corn, and tomato sauce) but the sauce is slightly smaller. We can also get 3 cans of cream soups across. Our pantry is much neater and organized with these shelves. I can also plan grocery lists and meals easier since I can see everything at once. Mine have held everything with ease and seem durable. If needed I would buy these again because they've been great! 5Hard to see what's in the backAs long as you follow the directions these are really easy to put together. As you can see by the photos everything looks much neater now than it did before. I found that they held smaller cans better than larger ones and more of them too. I have these side-by-side on a gorilla rack and I'm having a really hard time figuring out what is where. If the label is not facing up you don't know what's on there. I am also having a hard time seeing the third and fourth can back, especially on the lower tiers. Not a fault of the rack, which is why I gave it four stars, it does what it's supposed to. Think about where you are going to put this before you buy it. 4Structurely sound at full loadOne comment said these racks were cheep and flimsy. So I was nervous ordering. I put them together, loaded them fully, and I can tell you they are sound. They can handle the weight under a full load. I have stacked, and 2 not stacked. Ordered 2 double racks, or you could call them 4 single racks. They work almost perfect so far.One con is that they hold 3 standard cans deep. If they had made them a little deeper they would have held 4 cans deep.Another con is that the standard can is a little larger/wider than the opening to slide them in. So you need to worm out the can to slide it out. Neither con is a deal breaker for me. But you may want to take these into consideration.Strength and stability not an issue. So far I really like them and boy does it make rotating and using my cans a much easier process. 4
