Customer Reviews

I really like it, but...When I received it I had my doubts related to the size I bought (S size) based on the chart size. But I made the test fitting my baby and it was very comfortable, but I said now "my baby fits well (she had 1.5 months) what will happen at the age of 6 months?". Hopefully, I have a niece of that age and she fitted!!! Also, I made another test, I asked my sister to wear it with her daughter, because based on the chart she needs to use a XS. So, when she tried she didn't felt like her baby had good support because the K'tan was bigger for her. In summary, for the fitting Baby k'tan has 5 stars. The problem with it is the fabric that is made. It is cool and pretty like an active t-shirt, but it tears :( very easy. The first time I used it torn with my baby's finger nail. I said that I was able to live with it, but after I wash it in the machine on delicate cycle with some baby's clothes it came out with more tears and a hole :( :'(So, spent 59.99dlls for it doesn't worth it. Perhaps the original version doesn't have that issue because it is made by another type of fabric.I'm sad because I really like the K'tan because you can carry your baby without problems, your back doesn't hurt, you can use both of your hands and is very easy to wear it! 3Best I ve tried, especially for hot weather.I m still getting the hang of getting the wrap on correctly with babies legs out. If she sits frog legged, it works well, but she is ready for legs out.I live in FL so it is very hot. I have tried the Boba wrap, this and the Baby Bjorn. This is the winner in heat and compact ability. It is also the easiest to get on and off and wash.My baby girl loves being in it too. Especially if she isn t feeling well. Then she is on her mom while I walk around and do things or dance with her depending on her mood. She also takes great naps in it letting me be hands free to work (I work from home). Normally I can put her down to sleep, but due to acid reflux, she doesn t always take good naps. This wrap helps me help her get more sleep during the day when her reflux if acting up.Overall, I would recommend this one over the others especially in hot weather. As soon as I get the legs out figured out (instead of having her legs in like a frog, I m sure I ll like it more. Currently when I have her legs out, the wrap feels too tight between her legs and on me and she does not feel secure. 4Tried out all three stylesI had a second hand Baby K'tan original which I thought was too small, but liked it enough to get a new one. I purchased one of each style to compare. According to the charts, I am a size L. I am 5'4" with a large chest and wide torso, so I assumed I would not have to go down a size. I've included pictures of the fabric for the Breeze (teal) and Active (coral).I liked the color selection of the original, but it seemed as though it would be the hottest of the three styles. It's soft, comfortable, and obviously is loved by many baby wearers, but is a thick fabric. This attests to the quality of the wrap, but not the most comfortable to wear during the summer. It stretches as described, but just enough for mom and baby to be comfortable. I feel that as he grows, it will stretch more with his increasing weight, thus fitting us for a while. I had to go down a size on this style because his bottom was below my naval/hips.The Breeeze was my least favorite of the three. There are very few colors to chose from, and half of the wrap is the same cotton blend as the original. The mesh section of the wrap reminds me of gym shorts; it only stretches a little, and feels a little scratchy against the skin. It would definitely make the wrap much cooler for baby or mom, but not both. This was true to size for me, but may be too small for others.I ended up liking the Active the best because it felt as though it would be the coolest during the summer heat. I do NOT like the color selection, but I do like the UV protection and the fact that the fabric wicks moisture (not tested, but assuming due to the item description). I put my hand in the fabric of each of these wraps, and this seemed just as cool as the Breeze, but for both mom and baby. This wrap seemed to stretch the most of the three. I have to go down a size with this one, but I do think it is the best option for us (despite the stinkin' color choices). 5LOVE the mesh active ones way better than the cotton original ones!I bought myself a cotton K'tan wrap, the original version. I purchased a size Medium in it being 190 lbs, DD chest, 6'1 in height--it fit well, but it was so HOT. My god, I thought I was melting. Poor babe would be just sweaty while I was carting him around in it.Bought my hubby the mesh, active version and it is soooo much better. The material breathes, but is still warm. Baby boy is so much happier in this. For reference:: my husband is 6'8 tall, 230 pounds and I bought him a Large in this. Fits pretty well. 5Wonderful snuggles on the go!I love my Baby K'Tan Active and wish I had it for my first baby! I have been using it for my chunk of a daughter since she was two weeks old, about 10.5lbs. She won't take a pacifier, but with the K'Tan it's easy to slightly bounce her while patting her back, which puts her into a deep sleep every time. At that point, I get the joy of feeling snuggled up against her while still being able to chase after my toddler! It's also a relief to not sweat more than necessary, because let's be real: babies are little furnaces when they're snuggled up! The breathable and wicking material is excellent!Speaking of chasing, who has time to deal with 20+ feet of cloth arranged in a complicated pattern when you have another child(ren) to run after? -Or even if this is your first baby, why deal with that in a rainy parking lot? Or on a blustery day when you're worried about your sweet baby catching a cold? I LOVE that with the K'Tan I can slip it on and be off with my baby in about a minute! It's so easy to wear and I can't wait to try the different positions down the road!Breastfeeding on the go: the final thing I ADORE about this carrier is that I've started using it in a modified wear to support the lower half of my baby while I stand and breastfeed her. It's enough support that my arms aren't screaming from trying to support 13+lbs of newborn for over 20 minutes. I've used it to breastfeed while shopping at Lowes, waiting in line to vote, and so many more places! It's so wonderful to be able to keep going while running errands, instead of putting everything on pause! -Especially since you really can't "pause" a toddler unless it's nap time.I highly recommend this model of the K'Tan. For me, it's been all the advantages of baby wearing without the hassle of complicated wraps, sweating my chest off, or having to use different carriers for different positions!Note: the reason I rated 3/5 on durability is because the stitching on the large (approx. 3inx12in) warning label on the inside of the carrier fell apart with use. Consequently the label is falling apart strand by strand. I've read it enough that I know the dos and donts, so I plan to just remove it entirely since it's more of a hazard fraying away. I just won't hand it off to others to use because of it. 5You NEED this.Want to start off by saying I had a summer baby in Florida! This thing is very breathable and comfortable!Looooved it. My baby is way too heavy for it now (I stopped using it when she was about 18 lbs, and upgraded to the lille baby--which rocks), but I used it so much when she was younger! It doesn't 'give' as much as other wraps, which means your baby stays put even if she's wriggly. This was awesome to pop on quickly if she started being fussy. I used this in restaurants, at parks, for our morning walks, in the house--just everywhere. If your baby has bad reflux like my poor sweet girl did, you need this! I can't even count how many times my baby napped in this due to her bad reflux, or from being overtired due to sleep regressions. I tell all new moms to get this thing, it's invaluable. 5So far, so good...I received this today and I'm so glad I chose a SMALL. (In between sizes? Size down!) A lot of people have a hard time choosing the correct size, but I found the sizing chart pretty darn accurate. I am currently 173 lbs., 5'9", and small chested (small 36B; I don't wear padded, foam bras) and the SMALL is perfect for me. When deciding on a size, it's REALLY IMPORTANT to consider your chest/breast size. There's no way I would fit into a SMALL K'tan if I had bigger boobies (like a full C or more), even with the exact, same measurements I am now.The material (sporty and moisture wicking, kind of like a swimsuit) is about as stretchy as a pair of good quality exercise leggings; not too tight, yet not so loose to where you'll be jiggling all over the place... Hope that helps.Color is exactly what you expect, bright salmon/coral, but NOT neon by any means. If you can read, directions are easy to follow. I suggest trying it on in front of a mirror. The tricky part is really the fact that you're looking at a mirror image (instructions) of what you're supposed to do. Practice! Find what's comfortable for you and baby. Follow directions! I think a lot of ladies that believe their K'tan is ill fitting is only because they don't pull down the loop on the back to the proper position.Anyway, I chose the Active K'tan because we live in Texas and temperatures here reach about 105 + in the summer. I was considering purchasing a Moby/Boba wrap, but nooo waaay was I going to wrap myself and my baby in 5.5 yards of extra fabric during the hot months. Also, that thing was not going to fit in my diaper bag... And imagine trying to put that thing on while it's raining or the ground is wet! No thanks. For reference, I am also a well-fitted SMALL at Target, Old Navy, etc... 5Awesome carrier. Just a few things you need to know before you give up.Just like the original but even better! I love that it has SPF protection and is lighterweight - great for outdoors like the park or the zoo.I think to get the full benefit of this kind of carrier it is important to do the following things:- Get the right size. I am about a size 12 with 36D chest and the size Small surprisingly is the best fit for me. The baby will sag if you get your actual t-shirt size.- Watch the official K'tan video and Youtube videos on how to use this properly and check for fit.- Practice with a toy baby or teddy bear first, so you don't feel rushed or fragile about your baby's moving body.- Take it slow when you use it the first few times. Take the time to spread out the fabric all around you just as you would smooth out your t-shirt or dress before going in public. Give the connecting loop in the back a good tug to center the whole thing.- Once your baby is secure, try gently bouncing on a yoga ball for a few minutes and watch your babe peacefully fall asleep! 5My favorite wrap!I have four other wraps and this is my absolute favorite. While my Chico carrier is a bit more structured and I appreciate that for longer walks, this is great to wear, esp in hot weather. I brought it to Burning Man and wore my baby in this the entire time. It's UV protected and super breathable, so it's great. I also wear it around the house and it allows her to chill and sleep like nothing else. (She is one of those babies who wants to be held ALL THE TIME.) Wearing her in this, I can fold laundry, prep dinner, do some writing, etc.I also love this for ease of use. The issue with some of the longer ones is if you have to re-do it or tie it up, you are dragging ends of fabric onto the floor (gross) or street. This one is super easy to put on, and I loved using it on the plane. I could get her in and out of it super easy. The coral color is closer to an orange than pink, but it isn't an ugly orange. The only negatives are that this is sized just for me (so my husband couldn't just slip this on) - oh btw an XS fits me, a 5'4" 120 pound athletic frame woman - and that if you wear it for a longer period of time, it can start to hurt your back and shoulders. That happened when I walked about 3 miles and was wearing my daughter at a dance party at Burning Man for a few hours. I suspect this will happen with most carriers though.I was amazed at how awesome this wrap was, but seriously, skip the others and just get this. My main regret is not buying this sooner after my daughter's birth. Oh, and the "tech" material makes it perfect for summer and not getting too hot in general. 5LOVE!! Wish I had it years agoComfortable, lightweight, not noticeably hotter than carrying baby with your arms. Easy to get on and off. Learned how to get baby in and out quickly in the first couple days.Previously used a Moby, but too hot and too complicated to get any in and out so I just didn't walk until they were big enough for a stroller or my Osprey Poco Plus. I didn't know what I was missing. If you tense your shoulders then, yes, it will make you sore. Took me about a week of daily walks to learn to drop my shoulders and let the carrier do it's job. Since then I haven't been sore at all. So easy I can use it for a quick house cleanup when baby is fussy and comfortable enough to wear for a 2 mile walk while pushing a double stroller and walking a large dog on a hands free leash.Got the coral and love the color. Accurate to the pictures. Plenty of color saturation without being obnoxiously bright.I WISH I'd had this for my other kids (I now have 3). I am thrilled I decided to try this one.For sizing: I am 5'4" and pre-pregnancy I weighed 140, now at 2 months post-partum I'm at just over 150. I got a Small and it's perfect!Seemed a little tight at first but after second wearing it stretched a little or I got better at getting us set up. I've been using it for a month and I use it at least 4 days a week. 5
