Customer Reviews

Shocked how much I like it I was hooked on the nose Frida and was annoyed my husband bought this ha! But now I m hooked. It s way more productive then the nose frida and it doesn t make me light headed desperately trying to suck the snot out in one big breath while my kid flails and screams.Overall, great suction and does the best job getting snot out of my babies nose. There are some drawbacks. First, it s not really a one person job. You really need one person to hold it to the vacuum and one person to hold to the kids nose. The other problem is that it s loud AF to run your vacuum. Our kid doesn t seem to mind but it s not realistic to use in the middle of the night since it s so loud.Still would recommend it, though id still keep the manual nose sucker for times when you re alone or for use during the night. 5Good but concerns about my vacuum I bought this afte reading glowing reviews and a suggestion from my daughter's preschool class. We use it on our Dyson ball animal upright from Costco. The first time we used it, it was pretty simple and straightforward until the Dyson didn't turn on again. I feared the aspirator broke our expensive vacuum cleaner. After reading debugging methods for Dyson, it turns out it tripped the thermal warning and we had to wait 2 hours to turn on again. Thank goodness it turned on.Pros:Effective. So much snot.Major Con:Concern for burning out vacuum motor due to the resistance caused from small opening.Cons:Nozzle is pretty big, almost too big to get deep enough into the infant's nose. You need a clunky vacuum, thus being loud and potentially causing child to hate vacuums.Hard to clean. The provided brush doesn't reach the widest part of the part you insert to the nose. 3Disappointed like Roseanne s come back... had high hopes and back fired I REALLY REALLY wanted to love this product. Like REALLY! I have used the NoseFrida a million times, but I m old and I can only suck thru a tube for so long. I found this! Hook it up to my Dyson and I don t do anything?!? Where do I sign! I get it all set up, yes it s terrifying for a 3 year old - but what s more terrifying: an ear infection, pick your battles. He actually liked it more than the NoseFrida because I was able to turn it on and say, look mommy is doing it - got in position, turned it on and I was going in.... and holy snot like where does it come from?!? It was the NoseFrida on crack! It kept coming and coming! Astonishing and so gratifying! Right when I was invisioning accepting my mother if the year award the tip just broke off. Just like that, plop! I mean, its not my first rodeo- what just happened????? Plop no tip, just the remains of the sharp plastic of which it broke off from. There went my gratification. My husband is now adamant our child will never allow me near him with any such devise. And I HATE when my husband is right. Gonna e-mail the seller to inform them, I would hate to see it happen to someone else- especially if you weren t fully paying attention, ouch! 3Yes it works...yes it's strange....just buy it. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS.My son tested positive for RSV and I was the smarty pants who sucked his nose with a nose freida (there was a TON of snot, and I was sucking about 8 times a day)....and then I ended up sick and it turned into pneumonia. That helped no one in the long run.Buy this dumb thing, screw the little blue filters and the mouth piece and inhaling the infectious air from your little's nose. Just get this...leave the vacuum in the corner and this is fairly easy to est up. I have a shark vacuum and it works just fine. Never really had anything go down into the vacuum...but if you were worried use a wet vac. --wait that is a fabulous idea for my nursery, guess I will buy a second. 5Love it This this is amazing. It clears the nasal passages fast but without hurting or damaging the membranes inside the nose. The air flow is restricted to have a consistent air pull. It does the job fast which I like because holding my 2 year old down to draw out the congestion is no easy task. Comes apart easily. Can be challenging to clean if you don't rinse it with hot water immediately. I soak mine in hot water and vinegar for a few minutes and use pipe cleaner to get certain areas. Plastic does dull and become cloudy after a while, but I also used and washed it a lot. Would buy again and recommend it to anyone. (Tip: use saline solution in your little ones nose first to loosen up any mucus in there and it makes it much easier and quicker so your little one isn't squirming around upset for any longer than need be) 5Couldn't live without it This nasal aspirator is amazing. It sounds archaic (hook it up to your vacuum hose...you must be joking me?!), but by the time it's all put together and hooked up the suction is nothing close to that of the actual vacuum. We started using it on our 2.5 month old when she caught a cold and was miserably stuffed up. It is sort of gross watching the snot being sucked right out of the baby's nose (but also weirdly satisfying, am I right!), but it works SO well I don't know what I'd do without it at this point. The hand held suckers do nothing compared to this baby vac. We are buying it for everyone we know who has a baby from here on out!Pros: sucks all the snots out and baby can breath again in record time!Cons: it requires lugging out the vacuum cleaner and assembling the darn thing before use, but it's worth it! 5Sucks out the snot but not your kids brains... My son has enlarged adenoids so he's constantly snotty... I've previously used bulb syringes, handheld battery operated snot sucker outters n' the manual mouth sucking apparatus 'Nose Frieda'...1. The bulb works somewhat but was damaging his sensitive nasal passages when I had to get in there to reach a deep seated snot clog and occasionally causing him to bleed (he's a thrasher who won't be still for nasal cleanings)... 2. The battery vacume just isn't powerful enough to get anything but the watery drippings at the entrance of the nasal passage... and 3. The Nose Frieda is fantastic, doesn't irritate his nasal passages, gets the snot out great but as much as I have to suck out n' coupled with his thrashing I would end up light headed n' wishing I had a third hand. Now this bad boy is a God send!! My 5 year old is Autistic and crazy strong... I would have to wrestle with him for a decent amount of time because from his point of view, 'daddy's going to hurt my nose again', so he would punch, kick, scream n' thrash. I've ended up with black eyes, bruised arms n' legs which I would happily endure if it weren't for the emotional damage it was causing my poor boy. Nose cleaning time has drastically changed. Now when my son sees me coming with the vacuum and the aspirator he will initially tell me no but then sits still for his cleanings due to it being over quick n' not having anything poke the inside of his nose. The 1st time I introduced it to him, I let him squirt some aerosol saline solution in my nose, then I used the aspirator on myself and made a point to giggle excliaming, "that tickles!"... offered to let him use it on me while again giggling. Told him it was his turn, squirted saline in his nose and told him I was going to tickle his nose now. No more trauma for either of us now!Cons:1. Loud because you are using it via a vacuum cleaner.2. Does not fit all vacuum hoses BUT wrapping a bit of masking tape around the connector end will easily fix that.Pros:1. Great suction! Note that I did try this on myself 1st to see if it'd be too strong, making it scary for a kid but it's gentle due to the air flow chamber design of the product.2. Gentle because the end you insert into the nose is wider than a bulb syringe so it helps to create more of a seal and doesn't have to be inserted much into the nasal passage.3. Easily cleaned by running water through it.4. Quick and easy to use with a typical unwilling participant. 5The Best Baby Product LOVE THIS!! kept my baby from having to go to the ER and get a deep suction when he was sick. Moms are intimidated by this for some reason. Try on yourself first if you have reservations. What that hospital has is way more suction. It gets harder as your baby gets older cause they want to play with it but I'd rather suck him out for 30 seconds versus 10 mins with the alternative. I would turn off your vacuum every 30 to 40 seconds because it could ruin your engine. It's sucking from a really small hole and your vacuum could over heat. I bought a cheap little vac to go with this that I use that's hand held called BISSELL Zing Bagged Canister Vacuum 5Absolute Life Saver!! This product is AMAZING!! I am so happy with it! I'm an adult with severe allergies, sinus issues and several inflammatory autoimmune illnesses who just had basically a triple whammy surgery to fix both my inflamed turbinoid, my infected, closed up, inflamed sinuses, to re-shape the tissue inside of my nose, and to re-break and reset my severely deviated septum. I'm about a month and a half out of surgery now, and I'm loving the results (I can actually breathe, and I'm not having constant sinus pressure and sinus infections), but I still have what you might call an overabundance of mucus (which is normal, after surgery) and crusts that become quite large, and will block up my entire sinus openings (I know--gross! And yes, I am meticulous about hygiene and I regularly engage in nasal lavage and nasal aspiration to keep things under control). This device, while marketed for children, has a piece that will fit an adult's nasal cavity. I was concerned, at first, that this wouldn't be the case, but boy was I happy to be wrong! This may all sound like a minor inconvenience to some, but try losing sleep because your nose and sinuses are bleeding, hurting, crusty and blocked at the openings, and dealing with a dry mouth so severe, from mouth breathing, that your mouth is full of sores, painful and bleeding, and you'll change your tune real quick. I cannot emphasize enough how helpful this device has been, post surgery. The one caveat I would add, of course, would be to make sure you have been cleared by your doctor to use this device, and that you are AT LEAST 2-3 weeks out of surgery and healing well. I highly, highly recommend this device, in conjunction with a nasal syringe, neti pot, or other flushing device to clean your sinuses twice a day. This product is a life saver!! 5Discharged after battling flu After an exhausting hospital stay with our 2yo. Our instructions were clear... keep him comfortable etc. But suction his nose because his oxygen was dropping while he sleeps. NO mom wants to hear that. I knew I needed something similar to what the hospital uses, and fast. I ordered this noon on discharge day, (today) and it arrived before we unpacked. I have the nose freda, which I like, but this was more power. It did a good job with my Dyson vacuum. Breathing easier tonight for us all. Thank you! 5
