Solid, sturdyI moved 26 years worth of household belongings and junk from one home to another last month. It took several months to sell my house and find another, so my packing process took place in a series of efforts -- and box orders -- over time.In all, I purchased approximately 350-400 boxes of various brands, shapes and sizes. I found the Bankers Boxes to be the sturdiest and most secure.I wish I'd started with Bankers. I wound up with 2-3 sets of excess boxes (Bankers, of course) and would have much preferred to have used these than the other brands (Office Depot red box equivalents). 5... moving a few blocks and needed some quick and easy boxes that I could haul in my carI was moving a few blocks and needed some quick and easy boxes that I could haul in my car, as well as leave heavier items for the movers. These were incredibly easy to put together, no tape required, and saved me a ton of time. The larger boxes were especially great for taking items in my closet directly off the rack, hanger included, and folding them over once to put them in the box. Then at the new place, it was easy up with the hangers still there. They were also incredibly easy to deconstruct and throw in the recycling bin after the move -- and cheap enough that I didn't feel like I had to save them for the future.That said, it's good to know what to expect.If you are moving across the country, or have a ton of heavy items, these are probably not suitable. I did find a few cases where my movers placed smaller heavier boxes on top of the larger boxes, and these started to cave in a little as they are more structurally sound if you stack similar sizes and keep heavier boxes on the bottom. 5When all is said and done they are Much better than the typical boxes at the big box stores.My biggest thought on these is how convenient it is to not have to use tape! And then having the hand holes already in the Box, thumbs up. And the lids that just fit on and can be taken off easily to see what's inside, another thumbs up. My only complaint is that if you are a senior citizen with your brain power dwindling, it's a little bit challenging to follow the instructions. The first box I did, after a little frustration, must have been dumb luck, because after that I had to get help with them. Unless you are sure you can do it yourself, I suggest having someone who's good at these things there to help you. 5No tape required makes my dayMaybe it's me. While tape doesn't seem to adhere properly to cardboard for very long, it does a remarkably good job at adhering to various parts of the anatomy necessitating a painful removal procedure. These tapeless boxes are the perfect solution. Movers love them because of the hand-holds. Assembly is quick and (almost) idiot-proof.Face it. Moving is a pain and sometimes traumatic. These take some of the drama out of the ordeal. 5Quality of assembly now lackingI have been buying and assembling banker boxes for awhile. Hundreds of them. When I first started I was working with the white banker boxes from the same company. Perhaps they are manufactured differently than these. Basically the white boxes go together smoothly and cleanly. Impressive engineering actually. These brown boxes do not. They actually have instructrutions telling you to prefold every crease. They mean it. But even with prefolds they just don't cleanly assemble. They crush and deform instead of folding cleanly. Instead of crisp boxes I end up with mushy edged ragged looking boxes. If you only need the small banker boxes stick to the white ones like product 0071302 or 0076315. Both of those turned out better. 3Great boxes. My roommates made fun of me for ...Great boxes. My roommates made fun of me for buying "fancy, expensive" boxes online instead of scouring local businesses for used and free boxes. However, when they saw how sturdy these boxes were, how easily they stacked, and how nice they were to carry, the teasing stopped and they started asking to borrow some.Once you figure out how to put them together it was a breeze, and I bet they will last a long time (even though I hope I don't have to move again any time soon). 5An idea for the big box they ship inA little bit pricey, but good quality boxes. Keep the big box they came in, it is good for moving large pictures or wall decorations. Then, re-flatten the boxes and store them back in the big box for use again later. 4Sturdy to use for movingThe box was open when i received and one lid missing...augh.I have moved over 10 times and these boxes are just as good as the ones i have to tape, if not better. Definitely better than what is sold at home depot. I prefer using the small and medium over large. Why because i pack them to heavy. And difficult to carry with a bad back. The large are good for comforters, towels type stuff...though i still pack in med box. The lid or all in one makes no difference to me. Of course you must stack heavy on bottom to lighter on top to avoid crushing. 4NOT bankers boxesThese boxes are flimsy in comparison to the original bankers boxes. On nearly all of them the entire handle side of the box bent when I attempted to gently separate the box along the perforation. You shouldn t need a box cutter to assemble these boxes. The boxes bow out along the sides when you pack them and then deform further when you stop them atop eachother. I m going to have to end up taping them all shut, and the whole point was to have boxes with removable lids so their contents were easily accessible. Total fail. 2Save Your MoneyThese are the flimsiest bankers boxes I have ever used. And I have been using Bankers Boxes for decades. The medium size boxes were useless. They might as well have been made out of wrapping paper. The lids were useless, very thin, would not hold a shape, the paper separated from the corrugated part. I had already started putting them together and even used a couple of the smaller boxes, so I didn't bother to return. If I use the medium boxes at all it will be for very light things and without the lids. So sad. 2
