Not as picturedThe product description included a photograph of this frame being beveled/carved (I'm not sure of the right word). Instead, I received a completely flat frame. It happens that the flat look works well enough with the particular painting I'm using it for that I don't want to go to the hassle of returning it, but I would have preferred the carved frame shown in the product listing. It's really annoying to get something very different from what was pictured. In addition, the cut edges closest to the glass are entirely unfinished, and because they were cut recently they don't have the same weathered appearance as the other surfaces of the frame, which makes it look unbalanced. The builders could have painted those edges black or gray and it would have fit the weathered gray look better. As it is, it just looks like someone cut it in a hurry. I love the weathered wood surfaces and this could be an outstanding product if it were adequately finished and correctly represented. 2Love the look!I had a B&W photo taken of an old barn and bought this to frame it in. It looks amazing. The wood is weathered and worn, I would describe it as a warm grey color. There is about a 1" x 1/4" thick piece that lies flat against the "glass" (actually plastic) and another 1" x 1" thick piece that lies perpendicular to that to give the frame depth; all corners are mitered. You could even use the bottom of the frame as a small ledge. I love the look of it. It came well packaged and on time. 5Rustic and authenticExcellent frame. I had searched, compared, and priced barn wood frames for a week before choosing this one. I ordered it specifically for a photo I took of the pond in our city. It is authentic reclaimed barnwood. Complete with old nail holes. There are 2 hangers on it for portrait or landscape orientation. There is plexiglass instead of actual glass. This does not bother me as we have issues with hanging things on the walls in our apartment. Sometimes pictures fall and glass shatters. The plexiglass is clear and doesn't make a difference for me. Will definitely look here when I need another! 5Authentically rustic but still high quality!Was exactly as advertised and I'm very happy with it. Ordering again in the future I think I may look into a wider profile for the wood that makes the frame, like maybe 3 or more inches, because of how large 16x20 is as an interior space it makes the framey bits seem a littttle skinny for me, but I can't complain about that, it's exactly the dimensions that were advertised on the listing. I think it looks really nice with a mat board inside framing an 11x14 piece, and that extra space between the frame and the art made me much happier with the width of the wood. But again that's totally just a my-preference kinda thing, I could see other people super digging the thinner frame.I saw some reviews for barnwood frames complaining about the condition they received it in, regarding broken joints or glass, and I should say that mine arrived in perfect condition and was packaged really really well. I also saw some reviews complaining about the distressed state of the barnwood and I'd like to say that my frame's wood was totally great and was both high quality and purposeful looking, while also having a really authentic and rustic look. Nothing looks worse than something that looks like it's trying to be rustic but is made out of inauthentic materials or simply painted to look that way or something. This was perfect. 5Read both positive and negative reviews before you buy it!Be advised that this product is extremely RUSTIC, as in it looks likes it has been ridden hard and put away wet, as the cowboys say. There are holes, both knot and nail, and splinters. It s ROUGH. If you hoping for something country to go with your rooster collection, this might not be what you re looking for. Try Hobby Lobby or Michael's. If you have a rural scene (or even better a barn) to frame, this works well. The backing and protective cover are junk, but the quirky frame is actually pretty authentic. Made in USA. 5Unique and Stunning!I had an old picture that I had blown up on poster board of my grandfather and Max Baer on the boardwalk in Atlantic City.I couldn t put it in just any old frame.... this frame replicated the old beach houses in the back ground perfectly.It arrived quickly, with the weathered genuine wood look that I was looking for for this particular photo.The poster board was 20x30, so I bought a larger frame, and added a mat.I had no problems securing it, with both the poster board, and the mat added to it.It turned out great, and I am very pleased.Exactly as expected and very unique! 5Could have been happierThis is my second purchase from the company the first was good, this one is a nice frame but it has a glob of glue in it that is really hard to miss and kinda makes the frame look cheap. I wish they had quality control to check such an issue before it was sent out especially since it was close to 40$ for one frame. Also the company is not very good about responding to reviews or emails so if you are going to buy this prepare to be ignored if you are disappointed. 2quality control issueI purchased this frame to make an anniversary gift for my parents. I wanted something that was rustic, but not cheap looking. I settled on this one because of the reviews and Amazon's endorsement. Luckily, I ordered it in plenty of time to return it and get something else. Although the wood was real and weathered, and the frame was generally well made, there was a fresh drill hole that ran straight through the frame. It was about 3/8" in diameter and clearly visible from the front of the frame (the wood that faces the onlooker) and extended through to where the wall could be seen when hung. Note, this wasn't a "rustic" hole made by an old nail. It was fresh, because the interior of the hole was not weathered or rusty. Instead, the wood looked new. Although I considered using the frame anyway, I ultimately couldn't justify giving a gift that was this flawed. So, I returned it and purchased something else. It's too bad, because I was really excited about a frame that was made here in the US. As a side note, the company sent me an email outside of the Amazon system to see if my expectations were met and I told them of the problem and that I was returning the item. I have not heard back from them. 1Before you send it back...Wood portion of frame width not as pictured, but does fit description if you read it carefully. Is shipped with a film over the plexiglass so well applied that I could not tell it was there, I thought it was just hideously cheap plexiglass. Was ready to return when I thought I might attempt to see if I could pull up an edge of film in a corner...it took some effort but it DID come up...on both sides, exposing nice quality plexiglass. Wood seems very lightweight but seems substantial enough for my uses. I did not initially believe it was real barn wood, as I have another barn wood frame that is much more substantial than this, but my farmer husband assures me that not all weathered barn wood is as heavy as the other old frame, so I suppose this is authentic, just surprisingly lightweight. It seems a bit overpriced, but does look nice over our stone fireplace in our farmhouse. Would prefer wider wood framing like the picture, but could not find one available in this size with a 3" wood width. 4Excellent QualityI love this frame!! It's exactly what I was looking for. It's put together very well and I love the rustic feel that it has. I also like that it is relatively light so I don't really need a big drywall anchor to hang up. Would definitely recommend and I will look at this seller first for all my future frames. 5
