    Check the lid fit!I ordered this as a replacement for our current Bialetti Pasta pot- which we loved but over the mnay years we have had - has lost some of it's finish. I had read other reviews about the lids not fitting properly and unfortunately the one that shipped to us fell into this category. I am returning it and asking for a replacement. Hopefully round #2 goes better- I really do like this product, but if the lids doesn't fit right- what's the point! I'll update my review when the replacement is received.***** Okay- I received the replacement pot - and unfortunately, the problems remains. But I am lucky that I have a handy husband who decided to just fix the lid(s) himself by using pliers and by slightly bending the lid crimps. We are keeping both the original and the replacement- I am giving one to my Mom because the pot has worked so well for us in the past and because it is so light weight she will be able to left this pot more easily that her current heavy pots. Buyer beware on the lid lock system- But I do like this pot..... 3Concept needs serious workWhen you pour the water out, the way the holes are, its too easy to burn your hand. Attempts to avoid this lead to the lid falling off and pasta falling into the sink. No wonder its so cheap. I ve used it a dozen times and now will convert it into something else, maybe a flower pot. Tired of picking my dinner out of the sink- if I m lucky. 2Handle broke the first five minutes I had it.I haven't actually cooked with this yet, maybe I'll give it a better review after I've used it (and if I can get a new handle.) The design of this pot is actually pretty interesting, in that it's oval, and if you put the lid on "cross-ways" and then rotate it 90 degrees, it will lock the lid to the pot. The problem is that mine was such a tight fit, and required so much twisting force to rotate the lid on all the way, that a plastic pin that is meant to prevent the handle from spinning snapped right off. I'm trying to figure out why a designer would make something that is that subject to twisting force out of cheap plastic, but that's how things are today I guess. See the photo of the pin that snapped off. 8( 3Defective lidJust received this item and the lid doesn t fit properly. I purchased it to replace an older one,which I gave to my daughter yesterday. Knowing my new one would be here today. Now I have to wait another 4 days for a replacement! Can t review the durability, cleaning or ease of use since I couldn t use it! Hopefully the replacement is not defective. UPDATE- I received my exchange today and the lid doesn t fit properly. Same as the first one I returned. So now I m 8 days of shipping and returns and still don t have a pot. I m very disappointed with this product and with amazon for not pulling the product until it could be checked for defective lids. 1Useless. The actual function of the pot that makes it a pasta pot is faulty.Had one of these for years, but after years of use, it needed to be replaced. I ordered this thinking that time would have allowed the manufacturer to improve on an already great product. They did in one aspect, as there is a piece that keeps the top handle from spinning and loosening as the old one did. However, the lid will not fit the pot which renders it useless. The crimps on the sides of the lid will NOT fit around the edge of the pot to lock it. I thought it would be an easy fix so tried to use pliers and a towel to adjust it, but even though I was careful, the pot is slightly scratched (so no retrun). However, the metal didn't budge and lid is still useless.Now I'm out $30 and have to purchase another. For the record, I'm going to get one that has actual clamps this time. It is a name brand and is still $10 cheaper. Hmmm. 1I love this pot!I love this pot. I keep it on the stove top to use at least every other day. I only gave it 4 stars because the lid does not fit the pot correctly in the locking feature. I have to force it just to make sure it will hold. I think I'll have to use something to tap it with to force it to fit. I hope it works. I looked at the website picture and it shows how the lid fits perfectly in the picture. My lid only locks, with force, about 1/4 of an inch. Not 100% safe but I'll work on it. I also really like the oval shape which fits on the burner without taking up too much room for another pot to be next to it. 3Great for Pasta and Popcorn!I have been using my Pasta Pot for the past 4 years and being Italian believe me I have cooked a lot of pasta. This pot has been great. It has held up well, cleans easily and drains as it should. I agree you have to be watchful when straining angel hair or thin pasta but its not like the whole thing comes out. You may loose a couple of pieces. Another great thing about this pot is it makes absolutely the best popcorn because the wholes on the lid let in just enough air so the popcorn comes out crispy. I'm going to buy another one so I can use one for pasta and one for popcorn. 5Do not believe the people who complain about the lid not fitting!I almost did not purchase because of their comments but I correctly assumed that the large percentage of 5 star reviews can t all be wrong. Lid complaints are due to user error. When my pot arrived I immediately checked the lid fit. It was indeed very tight and took a good amount of force to line up the locking tabs. I continued to lock and unlock the lid and left it sit overnight in the locked position. Long story short, I ve used the pot 3x and after each use the lid is easier to lock taking minimal force to align. Think about it, you don t want a loose fitting lid when dealing with hot liquids. After a few uses it is no issue whatsoever, it lines up perfectly. Just needed a little breaking in period. Great pot. I expect to use it for many years. 5Love the pot, but the lid really doesn't fitI took a chance and ordered after reading the reviews about the lid not fitting right. Well, it really doesn't fit right. I love the pot, especially for the price, but was hoping I would be able to use the lid. I can get it on, but can't get it turned where the strainer lines up to the front. It's offset and no matter how I try it won't line up correctly. 3Lid does not fit.I feel like this pot has been around on Amazon for a while. Lots of the earlier reviews said how amazing it was for the price, but recently more and more reviews note the cheap quality, and the fact that the lid to the pot does not fit or close. It's a POT. with a LID. There are two parts to it. If one of those halves does not work, the entire product is worthless. I received this today, spent a few minutes trying to get the lid to sit on top, and it won't. The pot itself LOOKS great, but FEELS very cheap and flimsy. I feel like this company took it's 5 star reviews and switched the pot on us, to something of substantially lower quality. I am returning it and will not purchase from this brand again. 1
