Customer Reviews

adequate, but not great. It's just okay. It does the job, just not that well.It screws on, but there's not enough threading, so just when you think it's almost tight enough to make a good seal, it skips and is loose again. It also dribbles extra water a few seconds after you think it's done. I ended up putting it next to the dog bowl so at least it isn't all over the floor. Not my favorite, but like I said, it gets the job done. 3Amazing product!!!! This product far exceeded what it felt like. We had bought a more "name brand" one and within 2 weeks it had broke. We bought this one, because it was cheaper and what we could afford. When we recieved it, it felt lighter weight and we assumed it would break easily!! Well, on a camping trip, one of our children put it to the test. OH MY GOSH, it held up and took my childs "beating". I highly recommend this product. The added bonus, it has a plug for the end so dirt and bugs don't get into it. 5Caution when cleaning prior to use Works terrific! Perhaps takes a bit to get accustomed to pressure & amount dispensed per pump. Problem: Would have preferred better instructions, which simply said 'clean all parts prior to use', however WISH IT HAD SAID 'do NOT allow water access near/into small hole at base of bellows'! My fear is that we'll experience a rust problem (there's a spiral wire inside the bellows) because some water did get into that chamber when 'washing all parts prior to use'. 4MT Vessel sez this is the one you want! This manual bottle pump works very well, and I was glad to see it didn't leak externally from the base of its plunger the way other brands of these pumps can.On the plus side, it is possible to perform a series of short downward strokes on the large button and set up a continuous flow. Also, if you attach a longer tube to the nozzle (you can buy tubing of different sizes by the foot at many hardware stores), you can establish an unaided siphoning of the bottle's contents to another bottle that's placed lower than the inlet on this pump.On the minus side, this pump will allow water to simply stream out if the bottle is tipped over. It would be much nicer if that could be prevented - perhaps with a flap over the air replenishment hole? Another minor downside is that the center button scrapes on the casing when it's depressed, making a scritching noise unless it's pushed absolutely straight down. Neither of these downsides are deal breakers, though, and I'm very happy with this pump! 4Not a Universal water jug, please see pics and measure yours before buying! This pump arrived quickly and assembled easily. The problem I'm having is it doesn't seal to the 5 gallon water jug because the mouth of the jug is too small, (5 gallon was purchased at Walmart, see pics). So you have to put constant pressure on it to make it seal while pumping. I then tried our 3 gallon jug (also a Walmart purchase) and it fits perfectly on the mouth but the straw that goes inside is either too long (fully assembled) or it's too short (bottom straw not attached). If this was sold with a flexible bottom half that could curl into smaller jugs or be trimmed that would be perfect for all sizes. I don't recall seeing a required size mouth to work with as this was touted as "Universal". Not exactly my definition of universal! Any recommendations on a brand of 5 gallon that this fits would be greatly appreciated! First pic is of the 5 gallon that's too small, second and third pic are of the 3 gallon that fits the mouth but straw doesn't reach the bottom unless I trim it. 3Value buy that really works! Fits and works perfectly on my 48mm screw neck 2 gallon jug which is about all I can carry to the water machine these days. Have no doubt that it will work on my 4 gallon survival jugs from Sam's so I immediately ordered another one. With so many different height jugs out there now you probably will have to cut the bottom tube to fit but that's no big deal. Would like to see a flexible connector in between the two tubes like I saw on another pump but maybe there is a reason Brio doesn't do this. 5I bought this thinking it would be better than the $2-3 others purchased from other places I bought this thinking it would be better than the $2-3 others purchased from other places, which needed to be replaced every couple of months. No instructions on what to do with the tube cap. Had to cut some of the tube off to make it fit in my 5 gal bottle - no big deal. I tried using it on a 5 gal jug of water that was about 1/4 left in the bottle but wouldn't get it to prime - then I used a full 5 gal jug of water to make it work - so I'm not sure what's going to happen when the bottle gets low (as others have reported). The amount of water output is very minimal - no matter how hard I push the pump. My $2-3 pumps put out 4-5 times the amount of water than this pump does. I did a lot of research on different types of pumps and thought this would be the best one - but I'm not happy with it. It looks nice - but as said before - the amount of water output is much more minimal than my cheap pumps. To fill a glass of water with the old pumps - about 3 pumps - this one takes about 6-7 pumps. One additional comment, if your water jug has the hump in the middle - the water tubes need to be even shorter - but that leaves a lot of water still in the jug. 1If you have 3 gallon bottles, be preared to cut one. I like that I don't have to find a place in my kitchen for a water dispenser. I just put the water bottle on the counter with the pump. What I didn't like about it is that I use 3 gallon bottles, and the plastic tubes that came with it didn't fit--if I used one tube it only went half way into the bottle; if I connected the second one, the tubes were too long. However, I just measured and cut the second tube that came with it, and attached it to the first one--now, it works great. 5Junk Doesn't make a tight seal around 5 gallon water bottles. When trying to tighten it down it over rotates and just spins again. Works as long as you pump REALLY fast like your life depends on it, but then once your water jug/bottle is half-empty forget about it. It's useless after that. Garbage. Zero stars. 1not fit for AmericanMaid 5 gallon water bottle before purchase, I read the questions, one asked if the item can be used for AmericanMaid 5 gallon water bottke which is sold at Walmart, the answer is YES, so, I bought it, as a matter of fact, it is not fit the cap at all, I have to make adjustment , then can be used. not satisfied with purchase, but need to use it at the moment. 2
