    tasty water The Brita pitcher was easy to assemble. I had no issues charging and installing the filter. The water tastes so much better that I am drinking a lot more. In just a few weeks of owning it, I have saved quite a bit of money buying bottled water. It is exactly as pictured on the website. The only issue I have with this item is the size. I didn't realize how large it was. When full, it is quite heavy. For a family with children, this would be perfect. For just myself, I wish I had purchased the smaller one. I work with it by filling it partway so I can lift it easily. This is a good product and definitely worth considering. 5... but there are a few things that are really annoying, and make me consider having to get a ... Was excited to get this big Brita pitcher but there are a few things that are really annoying, and make me consider having to get a different new one. First, the filer 'tank' is really small. So you have to fill and let filter two or three times to get a full pitcher. It's annoying because you want to fill and put in the fridge and be done. But after one pour it seems so low you have to fill again. Second, the handle is weirdly hollow and the hollow opening at the top of the handle opens up next to where you fill the tank. So when you fill it full and put it in the fridge the water sloshes out of the tank into the hollow handle and then drips out of the handle all over the fridge. Which adds to the first problem. You can't even fill the small tank up all the way or it will spill into the hollow handle and drip/spill all over.I'm surprised at what goes into a good Brita pitcher, but this one makes me think how bad it is almost every time I use it. 2This pitcher is great.. This pitcher is great...the color is beautiful and I love the design of the handle. Yes, the way the handle curves down, makes you not be able to fill the top part completely with water, but if use common sense, you won't keep running water, knowing it can overflow. Just watch the back part near the top of the handle and stop filling it with water when it gets there. 5Large Capacity, Good Balance, Minor Design Issues I keep this on my desk to refill throughout the day. I love the large capacity. I like the style of the pitcher as well, more than I thought I would from the pictures. The center of gravity is always high when there's water in the filter reservoir, but the wide base and large handle help me keep a good grip.I don't have trouble with the lid opening up or falling off when I pour water out. If the pitcher is even 1/4 full and I grab it high on the handle, the pitcher tips itself forward to pour. All I have to do is relax my grip until I get the angle I want.It's worth noting that the pitcher does hold 10 cups, but you have to do 2 filtrations to fill up the lower half.I do think the overflow valve was a silly idea in some ways. Here's how it is. The handle is actually hollow. Where the handle meets the pitcher at the top, there's a tiny hole. Where the handle meets the pitcher at the bottom is not an airtight seal. If the water gets all the way to the very, very top of the filtration tank, it spills into that hole, down the handle, and dribbles down the side of the pitcher. It then gets all over the counter, the floor, or whatever is under the pitcher at the time.That said, it's not that challenging to fill the pitcher slightly less. I also prefer this version to an older model I had, where overfilling would just cause water to seep up around the plastic edges and encourage mold to grow.Another minor design flaw is the little plastic "flap" or tab that covers the pour spout. When you pour water, the force of the water pushes the flap out of the way. When you stop, the flap closes and keeps stuff from dropping into the pitcher. The flap also invariably catches a little bit of water on top of it. I feel this creates an environment for mold to take up residence, so I push gently on the flap to let the water fall away.Update 1/7/2013: For what it's worth, I still use and like this pitcher. I ended up taking the little flap off because it started to stick when I wanted to pour water out. I still don't have crazy trouble with the lid falling off or flooded refrigerators from the overflow valve. 4Beautiful and Effective. I love it! This pitcher is amazing! I ordered the teal colored one in order to match all of my Rachael Ray Pots and Pans- matches perfectly! I read some negative reviews about it not holding enough water or the handle not being sturdy enough, but I have had the pitcher for about 2 months now and I have not found any of those issues with mine. This pitcher is very sturdy, holds plenty of water, and looks beautiful. I love this product and would definitely recommend it. Also, I had a bad experience with my first Brita filter pitcher where the lid that you open to fill the pitcher would just fall off when you pour the water and i was afraid that this one would have the same issue but it definitely does not at all. The lid is vert sturdy on the pitcher. I honestly can not find one thing that I don't like about it. 5Help the Enviorment! But A Brita Water pitcher! love my Brita! have had a Brita pitcher before. So knew I would like it, but was worried that it was flawed or maybe the filter was because I could not tell a difference in the water! I took out the filter and reinserted it and now its just fine! So glad because I was not looking forward to sending it back! You just need to make sure it fits snugly in correctly ! Everyone should own a Brita! you truly save lots of money and Helps the environment from buying less plastic bottles ! 5It's very pretty and fantastic I'm surprised at how little water these things hold. I and my husband always drink an entire pitcher a day. If you live alone or with others, get at least this 10C version or bigger. Half the space is reserved for the filter, so it's not that much. Otherwise, It's very pretty and fantastic.Battery is not-replaceable on it's meter, if that matters to you. It doesn't bother me at all, and lasts a very long time anyhow. 5Best Brita I have used. I researched the different water filter pitchers available and decided on this one. I have been using it for about a month now and must say I am very pleased. First it arrived quickly and in good condition. Secondly, the design is very pretty and not your "normal" pitcher. It looks very nice sitting on the counter which is where I keep it. Thirdly, it works exceptionally well. I have had no mold or residue. I have had no difficulty with the lid falling off. My only complaint is the electronic filter change indicator. According to the directions I started it when I first put it together. However, after about two weeks I noticed it was not counting down and started it again. This time it worked. Just be observant and make sure yours really works. Unfortunately, you don't know this until one week is up. I would definitely recommend this product if you are in the market for a Brita. Love this design.UPDATE: I have now had this for over a year. It still looks new and still sits on my counter beside my Keurig coffeemaker. Would definitely purchase again. 5I personally do not like city tap water I have been using Brita pitchers for nearly 20 years and this was my third pitcher. I personally do not like city tap water, it has too much chlorine or other chemicals, so Brita is great for removing those tastes from our water in Atlanta, GA.I give this 3 stars because of usability. The reservoir is angled and because of how the lid opens, it is easily misleading and I often overfill it. The back of the reservoir is lower and so in reality you can only fill the reservoir about 2/3s otherwise it overflows and runs down the back by the handle. On the plus side, there is a built in reminder for changing the filter that flashes, which is a helpful reminder.I love the look of this Brita but prefer the old one I had (I accidentally dropped it and it cracked) which was a bit taller and more square and the reservoir was level all around, so you could really fill it. 3VERY poor product design The reviews where it leaks is true! VERY poor product design. But let's be honest. I'm to lazy to return it. So, I'll just be cautious when filling the water reservoir to not overfill it so water doesn't go into the handle. I will also likely put superglue or hot glue to prevent leaking in case water gets into the handle... 2
