Turned out well after annoying assembly The end result is a nice looking piece of furniture, though I almost threw it off the balcony several times trying to put it together. I put together a lot of furniture, and I'm an engineer so I'm not exactly a dummy. Whatever engineer wrote the assembly instructions obviously needs a better tech writer. They skip steps, have implied actions, poor illustrations, and just overall suck. I had to back track several times as I would get to steps and realize I didn't do an earlier step correctly so I had to start all over again. The diagrams are just not clear and you will get to a point and realize some piece needs to be turned around to work and you have to disassemble it to fix it.TLDR: Great product, horrible assembly instructions. 4It looks like the picture Very - Very nicely packaged and shipped. Made out of solid wood - no press board stuff. It is heavy but it comes in different boxes so the load is distributed. It looks like the picture so you will not be surprised. It went together well. If your looking for a nice smaller cupboard hutch this is a good one. The glass and doors fit and work well. Fit and finish is good but not as perfect as somethings that are made in one piece would be. But there is not an issue in the fit to look at and use. Better and or equal to stuff you see in a furniture store and much better than what you are experience in something that comes in a box. Overall petty good and I would recommend it. 5Buyer beware Thought this item was going to be great. It was up until I opened the box. It saysthat the color has a cherry finish. It comes in three different boxes and the only thingthat was cherry was the counter top. The buffet and hutch were a darker wood color thatdoes not match the counter. The counter was a nice cherry finish with glaze and the buffetand hutch were not shiny glaze like the counter. If you try to send it back, better hope you live in CA. I live inVA. and the shipping would cost over $80 of my own money for two of the boxes since the weight ofeach is over 75 lbs. Since Homestyles have not returned any phone or email messages, I am left to spend my ownmoney sending it back. Stacks and stacks is the company that contacts Home Styles when there is a productreturn. They are great. They contacted me twice and let me know that phone messages and emails have beenleft everyday for Home Styles, but to no avail. Not even a return message. What a let down. Not ordering from thatcompany again. 1Pros and Cons to Consider Pro: The assembly was easy and straight forward. I used a multi bit screwdriver to complete the project by myself. The buffet took about 2 1/2 hours. The feet have adjustable inserts to level the unit. The hutch took about an 1 1/2 hours and comes with steel plates to secure the hutch to the buffet. Note: If using for a microwave stand, feed the cord through the hole prior to tightening the plates.Cons: Color match is poor. The drawer fronts did not match the buffet and the hutch is darker over all than the buffet. I m not sure if both pieces were cherry or if the hutch was soft mahogany and sent by mistake. The alignment of drawers and doors on both pieces are off. In addition, the drawer slides are not smooth and the location of the magnetic clasp on the hutch doors are opposite the knobs which creates a twisting stress upon opening.I emailed customer support 2 weeks ago and have yet to get a response. 2Not impressed. First off, it's not a great cherry color. It's orange. I primarily needed extra storage in my kitchen nook because the pantry was overflowing. Color wise, it doesn't work with my kitchen cabinets. Like I said, it's more orange.I could deal with the color thing if it wasn't for the sturdiness of this furniture. It wobbles. It took 3 hours to put together and of course, the holes rarely lined up. If it wasn't for my hammer, nothing would be aligned.The hutch part of this does not attach to the bottom so make sure you attach it to the wall.Over all, not impressed. I wish I could return this or get my money back but that means taking the whole thing apart and putting it back in the boxes. *sigh* So, I'll keep this for about a year and then I'll do the smart thing and go into a furniture store. Sure, it'll cost more, but it's worth it. If you have kids, I don't recommend this piece. It's not sturdy enough. Anything that requires Cam Locks won't be sturdy. I've learned that lesson several times over.I give this one star because it does look pretty (just not the color I wanted). But that's about it. 1Fantastic Buffet My wife and I hunted all over for a buffet to match our decor and this little beauty did the trick. It is well made and if assembled correctly should provide years of service.Do yourself a favor though. This is a bit complex. Lay out the pieces in an orderly fashion and COMPLETELY READ the instructions. Then proceed with assembly. I also used some wood glue on the dowels during assembly for added strength.You won't go wrong with this piece. Everyone wants to know what furniture store we bought it from. 5Good quality at a good price. I bought this to match the Home Styles china cabinet I purchased a few years ago. It arrived a day earlier than promised and was much easier to assemble than the china cabinet and matches pretty well. It's not an exact match but they are on different sides of the room so it's hard to tell. I really like that its solid wood, even the back pieces. Its packed well and all pieces were in good shape, not a scratch. The top comes in a separate package and is really nice looking. 5Very Happy with My Purchase I bought this and the 5100-0071 model for the entry room of our house. Other reviews assuaged my concerns that this would be too much work to put together and true to the reviews, it really was fairly easy to assemble. The directions are clear, the product is well packaged, and each part, as well as the hardware, is labeled. The drawers are 3" deep and 10" long and 9" wide. I purchased these to declutter the entryway room. I put two shelves on one side and left the other without a shelf so that it could house the bag of dog food. I have flashlights in another drawer. I plan on getting a little decorative wire rack to house our mail so it doesn't get thrown on the table. My entryway looks so much better! I like that it's about 18" wide, as it is a smaller room and I didn't want it to feel too closed in with big pieces. I didn't use the safety piece that connects this cabinet to the wall. These buffets are not tippy at all--very solid--our floor is level and we don't have children. Even my husband, who thinks I'm too fussy, really likes these pieces and is glad I got them. As for a review that said this piece was too dark, I was concerned about that, but I found it to be as shown online. The reason for only four stars is that two of the drawers on the larger buffet don't roll smoothly. That's frustrating. I did give it just a little WD-40, but it seems to be a mechanical problem. A good quality product at a reasonable price. Would buy again. 4Very nice for the price Cabinet was perfect for what I needed BUT it is a little difficult to put together. Took me about an hour. It was a gift so I didn't complete the installation until it got to the destination because it requires leveling to ensure the doors in the front will close. Leveling didn't help the doors close perfectly so we need to press them to stay closed. The bottom has an adjustable shelf. To fit liquor bottles ours is on the highest adjustment leaving just a shorter shelf for glasses, mini bottles or smaller liquor bottles. the stainless steel top is heavy and the hardware looks nice. For the price, it is perfect 4Add up all the parts and components and you have a 5 star product that looks great and works just as its supposed to !! Lets start with the packing.. Of course this was delivered by someone who didnt have to have it in their house so they had no skin in the game, however it was so well packed that in spite of the box looking it had gone 5 rounds in the MMA everything inside was perfect-- not a banged or dented corner - score 1 Next although I am not an expert this is real wood, it is solid - heavy and really is well finished - score 1 the hinges and drawers and all the screws align perfectly - score 1 the top fits and looks perfect not cheap score 1 the piece when put together ( took a little over an hour with basic tools and not rushing and reading the instructions -- in english ) doesnt wobble.. no adjustment needed -- it sits level and is excellent score 2 Add up all the parts and components and you have a 5 star product that looks great and works just as its supposed to at a very reasonable price.. 5
