but I'm so glad I didDesigned & Assembled in U.S.A.! This is written on the box. There are inaccurate reviews on here. You must read instructions before plugging in or you can ruin the machine and get that plastic smell that some complain about. I was nervous to spend this much on a simple coffee maker, but I'm so glad I did. A whole pot of coffee that tastes better than any other maker I've owned in two -three minutes. The water heater stays on all the time, and you simply fill the amount you want in the morning, which replaces the hot water that is now coffee. Just buy it, for you will be glad you did!!! Remember, read the instructions before plugging in!!!! 5Performs as I expected, good buyMan, I saw all the reviews about it tasting like plastic or whatever and they actually had me worried. On the left is the Bunn I bought in '07 and the right is the one I just got 12/18 and only got a new one bc after a decade it started to leak. Waited a month before I gave my review and it works great. Solid buy....again. 5Customer service is excellent, even outside warranty timeThis is the 4th bunn purchased in our family. Brew speed is spectacular. Customer service is excellent, even outside warranty time. Originals lasted 10 years before the heating element came loose. Could have repaired, but felt like time to upgrade.Only negatives you will experience: The first time you close the lid before placing the carafe under the poor spout (thinking you're fast enough) you will make a mess. It's that fast. The other is you need to center the carafe under the spout. The heating pad is larger than the base of the carafe and will seat too far in, potentially making a mess. Place it all the way back, then pull toward you a quarter inch to half an inch.Outside that, this is exceptional. 5Good, but not like the older Bunns.Called Bunn. This one IS made in the USA. We have used Bunns for years and have been extremely satisfied with all of them. We use Folgers Classic and Master Chef coffee from Walmart, which are pretty coarsely ground, probably. Made the first 2 pots this morning and had no spillover of the grounds, as others have reported. Used Bunn filters. I compared the water dispenser that lets water out into the grounds with the one from my old pot and they were identical. This leads me to believe that people having overflow of grounds might be using very finely ground coffee. Not sure of this, though.Bunn told me on the phone that Walmart keeps their Bunn filters with the coffee pots, not the coffee, should you be looking for them there.The glass carafe that Bunn uses nowadays leaves much to be desired. The lid operates very awkwardly, in my opinion. Also, the carafe does not center up under the hole in the basket automatically. We kept our old carafe and it does center up automatically. These older carafes can be found on eBay at a fairly reasonable price. Look for a lid about 3 inches in diameter that is removable. 4Bunn coffee makers are not what they used to be.Don t waste your time with this one, you will end up returning it. From the very first time I filled it water kept coming out of the holes that drain Any water that didn t make it to tank. I found that the plastic right under the fill area had a crack in it and was leaking water inside the coffee maker. Right underneath that is all the wiring for the hot plate. Had it not leaked on me right away it would have eventually shorted out the hot plate. Also one of the plastic post that holds a screw in was completely snapped off and this unit was sent out anyway. Bottom line is they know they are sending you broken defective products and don t care because their name carries them to more sales. I ll never buy another Bunn again. Such a disgrace 1Strange Product SmellBunn has been my coffeemaker of choice for many years. It is usually the best. I ordered a new one, and I absolutely cannot keep it in my kitchen. The machine emits a horrible, headache-inducing odor that I noticed immediately. Hoping it was "new product" smell, I set it up and used it. The smell didn't go away. I ran numerous pots of water to see if it would go away. It didn't. I emptied it and set it up all over again. It didn't go away. Now it is sitting on the back porch in a box, and my kitchen is odor free. What a disappointment. 1Finally a Good Reliable Coffee PotI purchased this in August of 2014 and it is still working as they said it should. It is used once daily to brew a pot and on rare occasions twice in a day. Given the very hard water where I live, it requires a good cleaning about every 3-4 months. You can tell when it needs one, as it starts making lots of noise as it heats the cold water. I have had no issues with this pot and to correct something I read in another review, the pot pours just fine if you don't tip it too steeply at first. Having had numerous issues with other brands, I'll stick with Bunn so long as they build this sort of quality. It's more expensive than many others, but it works ... and it keeps working. I went through 3 Kitchen-Aid coffee pots in a year and a half. It's nice to see quality is still available in America. 5Great coffee makerI tried the highly rated Cuisinart 14 cup, and then I returned it and bought this instead. I like that this machine seems to have good longevity. It's basic and simple and I don't need anything more. This machine at the very least serves as an always ready electric kettle for hot water if I decide to make tea or use my French press, but also makes a very good pot of coffee if I don't want to take the time for the other methods. I read many reviews about the coffee grounds overflowing and that did happen to me when making a pot of 10 cups and even 8 cups. So, I READ THE MANUAL and it states that if you use fine ground coffee or have soft water (which we do) you will need a different valve. They give you the # to call or the email and you can request one which they send you quickly for free. I installed mine and haven't had any more problems with overflowing. I would definitely recommend this coffee maker! 5Amazing! Fresh coffee in 3 minutes with 0 fussAlthough in the past I have been very dissatisfied with drip coffeemakers, I decided to give this velocity-brew BUNN a try when my last electric percolator bit the dust. I have only three basic expectations when it comes to a coffee-making device: hot coffee, good taste, and ease of operation. This product meets all three of those requirements, with the speed-brew feature a major bonus.This is a manual unit: no programming to fuss with, just add coffee and water and it starts brewing. It's important to add the coffee first, then water, and (important!) keep the water reservoir lid open until the empty carafe is back in position---as soon as the water reservoir lid closes, coffee starts coming out. The "on/off" button on the front is simply for the heating plate under the pot, and has nothing to do with the brewing itself. This product has an always-hot reservoir of water on the back, which is how it achieves the velocity-brew feature of delivering a full pot of coffee in three minutes.This machine is so convenient for people like me who forget to start the coffee going in the morning and need fast brew! It's also nice to be able to quickly make a pot after dinner, or brew a second pot for large gatherings. BUNN has made me a believer again in drip coffee! 5Started as disappointment, ended in love.I got this Bunn coffee maker for my father (coffee addict) as a gift. This man knows his coffee, and even more he knows his coffee makers, like the back of his hand. But the day this was delivered, was the same day he got a COMMERCIAL Bunn coffee maker (like the huge heavy duty ones you see in restaurants) so needless to say, I was upset at him for ruining the surprise...and I ended up keeping this one for myself. And to be honest...I'm now happy it didn't go to him!A full pot brews within a matter of minutes. The back tank keeps the water at the ideal coffee temperature. And the best part of all....I save on coffee! I don't have to use nearly as much coffee grounds to make the perfect strength of smooth, black coffee.10/10 would definitely recommend this brand and model to every coffee lover I know. 5
