    Marina pedestal 30amp splitter, inexpensive!My sailboat has a 30amp shore power service already, but with another 30amp shore cord and this I can have 2 extra 15amp legs coming in during winter dockage.(I am also using both overload and GFI protection on those lines)This adapter doesn't show up in the boat store / supply world, Marinco pretty much owns that area and I've only ever seen the single 30amp to 15amp adapter they make.I've made my own adapters in the past and was going to make this type with heavy rated conductor and ends, then I found this at $11. Done. 4No good for campgrounds.Since Camco makes camping products I hoped this would work with the state park 30 amp plugs. It does not fit the 30 amp sockets in the last 3 Campgrounds I have been in. The plug configuration is different 1Tight fit. 5-15 Receptacles are connected to same leg of 240.Note this adapter connects one Leg of the 240 to BOTH 5-15 receptacles. This means that both loads will be on one leg and not balanced to both legs of the 240. This also limits Max Power to 2880W (1440W each 5-15 receptacle).Adapter was difficult to plug in and remove, prongs not quite aligned. 3NOT INTERNALLY WIRED AS STATED !BOTH RECEPTACLES ARE WIRED TO THE SAME 120V. "HOT" PIN. THIS WILL RESULT IN TWO PLUG-INS THAT SHARE 15 AMPS, AND IF USED AT THE SAME TIME WILL ONLY PROVIDE 7.5 AMPS TO EACH. FURTHER, YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO BALANCE THE LOAD ON YOUR L14-30 GENERATOR OUTLET !! 1HOLD ONTO YUR BUTTSI am no generator genius, not by a longshot. I purchased this adaptor because my Harbor Freight 4000/3200 watt gas generator has a 30amp female 4 prong on it. I assume, and I could be wrong, that if I plug 2 extension cords in to this adaptor, I can send the 2 extension cords into my home in two different directions (1 upstairs and 1 downstairs) and plug a 15amp load into each cord, right? Jackson powers back up the entire electrical system. 5Connects to Shore Power L5-30 socketI used this to connect to Shore Power at the marina. It fits the 30 amp outlet perfectly. This is a L5-30 plug (not for 20 or 50 amp receptacles). I had a hard time finding one that clearly stated what it fit so if your receptacle is stamped with L5-30 this will work on a generator or at the marina. 5Five StarsEasy peasy does it, this is widely used in marinas for shore power 5Incorrectly wired.Incorrectly wired. Only one of the two hot circuits on 4-prong NEMA L14-30 is wired to both outlets on NEMA 6-50. This means only half of your generator power is available. What a disappointment! Sent it back right away. Purchased Conntek YL1430520S cable instead, which is double the price, but is wired correctly - each hot prong to one outlet. Now it is up to me to balance the loads, but at least full power of generator is available. 2Makes my generator so much more efficient to use at work.I didn t realize that when I bought my generator that it would have so many different kinds of plugs.The generator can run at least 4 tools but it only had 2 regular outlets.So we would just splint the regular outlet with a power strip but we were constantly tripping it. I needed to get this adaptor because the 4 prong plug ran on its own 30amp breaker.I bought the adaptor and it is working really well. It s made solid out of some high density rubber feeling plastic.I twisted it on and now I have 4 plugs to use instead of 2.Great adaptor and it wasn t easy to find in stories. Most places did not carry this and told me to check camper supply stores for mobile homes. 5NOT a balanced splitter--only uses one side of 240 volt generator !Couldn't believe this puts BOTH 110 volt receptacles on just ONE side of the 240 volt generator cord. The adaptor just leaves one side of the feed idle -- not connected to any receptacle so that all your load is now on one side of the 240 volts. Unless there is some weird electric code requirement for this, it is bizarre and means you cannot try to balance your load on your generator where every kilowatt counts !! Before you buy a splitter, request a wiring diagram, is the lesson I've learned. Never expected this and wish I had learned it within the return period but I never thought to put a meter across the darn thing ! Exactly what does Camco think you are going to do with the "other side" of your generator's output ? That's why home breaker panels have two sides ! My Champion generator supplies 1 ground, 1 nuetral, and L1 and L2 through my (Reliance Controls Corporation PC3040 30-Amp, 40-Foot Generator Power Cord for Generators Up to 7,500 Running Watts). The cord carries that same wiring to the adaptor. Then the adaptor just 'wastes' one line, and puts all the load on the other line. I bought this from Amazon / Camco in July 2018 and since the manuf. has just responded, incorrectly, that my adapter splits the TWO legs, I will ask for a replacement as my meters (2) don't lie. 1
