Great quality, easy to assembleThis table is very solid. Not at all like a lot of DYI furniture. The drawer and top until come assembled so you just have to attach the legs, lower shelf and drawer knob. All the pieces came with including the Allen wrench but you do need a Phillip's head screwdriver to install the knob. I will say that the screw they provided for the knob was both too long and a little too fat. It was taking too much effort for me to get the knob attached so I swapped out their screw for a slightly shorter screw and it worked perfectly. I was able to put the whole thing together in about 15 minutes and didn't swear once!The drawer is shallow but deep enough for a paperback book, remote, etc. The USB ports are a great idea and is a big reason I settled on this table. You plug the included cord into the wall and then there are 4 USB slots in the top, which you can cover if you aren't using them. It even comes with a cable that has a micro USB, USB-C and lightning connector, but you can use your own. This will make it very nice for charging my tablet and phone at night and help reduce some of the cord clutter.Overall, it's a very solid piece of furniture for the money and looks great next to the bed. I"m considering purchasing another for the other side so they match. 5This product is NOT worth the price being charged!I hope the following itemization of pros and cons help with your search for a decent night stand.Pros:- The size of the nightstand fits perfectly with our bedroom layout. The published dimensions on Amazon are more or less accurate for this product.- The USB port, which turned out to be the deciding factor in purchasing this nightstand, is a nice feature.- These are primarily made of solid wood, with only a little MDF (particle board, fiber board) used to make these.- The night stands were beautifully packed. It really looked like an effort was made to make sure no damage occurred to the product while it was in the packing material.- The price is attractive for a product that is stated to be made from solid wood.- If you receive a whole product that isn't suffering from too many manufacturing flaws, it is very easy to assemble. The first unit took me about 10 minutes to put together after I took it out of its packing material.Cons:- If they were being sold as "distressed" that might help explain the tool marks and poorly stained surfaces of the wood of both units.- The drawer bottom and the sides are a cheap MDF material. The sides are not that big a deal due to their ornamental purpose. However, the drawer bottom is; this material will not hold much weight without failing. I anticipate I will need to replace the MDF drawer bottom with thin plywood in the future.- The feet of these night stands are nothing more than rough sawn posts. No attempt to finish the bottom of the four feet other than stain was done. It looks like someone took a circular saw to a 2" x 2" to cut them to length, then used a quick brush of stain on them after drilling for mounting points. There is clearly no pride in workmanship here.- As others have noted, holes for the assembly screws don't line up properly. The wood dowels on the drawer frame and stand top do not align properly with their corresponding holes in the sides of the unit. I would recommend any purchaser have a small rubber mallet, wood glue, wood clamps and possibly even a drill with assorted bit sizes to adjust for these alignment problems.- Do not expect the mounting screws to be able to be flush with the mounting surface. Tighten the screws until lightly snug only. Tightening more than that could cause parts, especially in the corners, to crack.- Of the 2 units I purchased, one looked halfway decent with no broken parts. The other was a completely different story. The right side part had a broken piece at the mortise channel for the bottom of the decorative MDF panel. Wood glue and clamps resolved this, but why should they be necessary on a new product that just came out of the packing material?- The rear screws of the bottom shelf tf the second unit were not inserted properly at the factory and had been stripped. This allowed the bottom mounting strips on each side to warp, causing a mounting hole alignment problem and very aesthetically displeasing. Sawdust caught in the stain between the bottom surface of the shelf and the mounting strip indicate that this is might be a manufacturing problem. Out came the wood glue and clamps again to correct this.- Apparently, a lot of scrap lumber was used in the construction of these because the first unit has a chunk of the lower shelf mounting strip missing. It was missing before the stain was applied - again, no pride in workmanship here. On the second unit, the wrong type of wood filler was used to fill in large gouges making its finish appear splotchy as if a kindergartener was unable to color inside the lines where the stain made it obvious where the filler ended and the wood began.- This is a minor nit to pick compared to the other problems found with these nightstands, but it just solidifies my conclusion that these are not being professionally manufactured: The upper portion of the MDF side panels of the second unit appear to be stained a different color than the rest of the unit. It looks like the worker staining this unit ran out of stain in the middle of the process and had to get another can of stain to continue. In the process of doing that, either the wrong color of stain was grabbed, or the worker doubled up on the part already stained making it appear much darker than the rest of the unit.If I were looking for a nightstand again, I would hesitate before buying this product. There is a definite quality control problem where these are being manufactured in Thailand. Assembly is hampered by improperly drilled mounting points. Corner material will crack if the mounting screws have more than a few inch pounds of pressure applied to them. I would most assuredly not pay the going price for these units unless they were in the $30 - $40 range. I would buy these knowing that the chances of receiving a broken unit is high - 50% in my experience. Do not expect the units to be uniformly finished; the materials they use in manufacturing are not uniform, and leave the impression they are made with materials slightly better than scrap lumber at your big box home store. I have attached photos of the second unit right after I took it out of the box. The only editing done is cropping to the flaws and renaming the files to give an indication of what is being shown in the photos. 2Nice, but not perfect with the blindingly bright blue LED from the USB hubI purchased two of these units as night stands in our bedroom. The units are nice, and what I would consider a heavy whitewash vs. a solid white paint. They look nice, but you're certainly going to see the grain structure of the wood through the white paint.Unit assembly was easy, though I would suggest using a hex driver on a screwdriver type base rather than the included allen wrench tool. If you don't have one, the included tool will work for assembly. You'll still need a #2 phillips screwdriver for the bottom shelf assembly. Everything went together well, and felt solid in the end.It appears based on other reviews that we were lucky to get units which the USB units powered up and worked properly. This was nice. What wasn't expected was just how bright (and poorly placed) the blue LED is during the night. Since we got these to charge cell phones, kindles, etc. during the night the blue LEDs light up our entire bedroom. They do little to nothing to light up the various USB ports though. I plan to pull the hub out and either cover up or disconnect the LED to alleviate this issue. I'd add a 5th start if the LED was able to be turned off / removed easy. 4Great charging bedside stand!This was easy to assemble and I make really good use of the USB ports. I actually wish there were more. The items arrived packaged very well and the pieces did not have any damage. When assembling, I took a tip from another commenter and used glue at every joint, so my little table is pretty sturdy and I have not had any issues with wobbling. The drawer is a little small but it moves well. I use the USB ports to charge everything from my phone and Mophie cases to my iWatch and Kindle. The table top is large enough for me to place my Surface, a projecting alarm clock and have a little bit of room for my phone and glasses, which is enough for a bedside stand. 4the quality of the wood and the build in general are fantastic for the priceOk, so let me start by saying that I really wanted to give this a higher rating. First off, the quality of the wood and the build in general are fantastic for the price. This is all solid wood and it assembles rather quickly although I did need to use 5 small washers on the drawer handle to keep it snug. These look nice and solid and well built especially when you consider there are press-board tables for twice the price.Now for the negative... I bought two of these and on one of them the USB charger doesn't work at all. The blue LED light stays on (it's crazy bright), but the on/off switch doesn't work and none of the 4 USB ports work at all. If I was rating this item for the furniture value alone, I'd give it 5 stars, but the USB ports were the deciding feature for me, so the fact that it doesn't work drops the review. Now I am in a tough situation... these tables were packed very well, but to return this item would be impossible. It is now fully assembled and the packaging couldn't go back together even if I had an engineering degree. If there was a way to just get the USB port shipped to me it seems like it would be a very easy repair, but I can't figure out how to contact the manufacturer. I will update it the company fixes this problem to my satisfaction without making me completely disassemble and ship this back because the table itself is fantastic. 2Great looking - Sturdey - and REAL WOOD!I bought this out of a need for a small nightstand to a bed that is 30 inches high.... Buying this from Amazon I was a little hesitant, but that feeling quickly went away once I received the package. My first impression was that this was the most well packaged item I received from Amazon. Second, the table is all wood and beautifully finished. Overall, it took me less than 10 minutes from open to full assembly. I gave it 4 stars but in reality its likely a 4.8. The only issue I had was a small manufacturing dent/chip on one of the legs, which you often risk when ordering real wood, but it adds character. - You will not be disappointed in this product - Now time to buy a 2nd for the other side of the bed. 4Great Value for the PriceI was a little wary about getting this table, especially after seeing the reviews regarding the malfunction or lack of function in the power strip for the USB ports. I am happy to say that this product was delivered timely, was in perfect condition once unpacked, took less than 10 minutes to put together and the USB ports (and included cables) work as designed. I now have my home/work iPhones, iPad, and Mac Air all plugged in to the table recharging with no problem. It frees up multiple electric plugs and acts as a handy secondary bedside table. It s a very good looking piece and very sturdy.Not sure what the complaint about the color was. It s precicely the color I expected. There were also some comments about this needing to be listed as distressed and looked cheaply constructed. All the pieces fit perfectly together and it doesn t look cheap in any way.The USB charger is strong enough to charge my IPAD and IPhone. There is an LED in the tray, and it is dim, but I wouldn t want a bright light on my bedside table anyway.I am very pleased with this purchase and I m glad I settled on this table. I would recommend it. 5This night stand is fantastic!I was very surprised by how good the quality of the wood is. The packages arrived very fast and without any delay. It was very easy to assemble and took my wife and I about 8-10 minutes for each night stand. The espresso color is just as displayed on Amazon. I'm also very glad this product was not made in China, it was made in Thailand. I've been to both China and Thailand and admire the quality of goods in Thailand far better than China. It's not cheap wood or a cheap paint job. It was packaged neatly and organized very well. The drawer depth is not that deep but for my wife and I, where we just keep our cell phones, pads, glasses and wallet, it was perfect and haf plenty of room. I even put my Nintendo 3DS XL in there, with a little room to spare for my watch. The base is sturdy and if put together correctly, you will have a very nice looking night stand. The multiple USB ports is an amazing addition. We hooked those up, they already came installed, and they turned right on and they charge everything very fast. The light from the USB port is not too bright either. It also came with a 3 tier charging cable for all smart phones. Amazing product. 54/10- needs some work to be betterThis is a cute nightstand, the perfect size for my space. Setup was fairly easy. The drawer is bad though- there is something wrong with it! It is hard to pull out; you end up yanking the whole table to open it. That part came preassembled, so I can t assume it was my ineptitude. I am pretty disappointed with that. My husband wanted to keep his glasses there at night, but its not worth the trouble to open it!The chargers work very well! There is a blue light on them that may bother anyone who likes total darkness. It is on my husbands side, so I don t notice it!Hopefully they make better drawers or replace mine! It is unusable at this point. Otherwise it is a nice table! 2
