Functional and really great qualityI am very pleased with this kitchen cart. For the price, it's made of sturdy, real wood and when assemble is quite handsome. The assembly was a little tricky, but I'm not the handiest person and I still managed to put it together, it just took far longer than I would have liked. But it has been great and was exactly what I needed to add extra counter and storage space to my kitchen. I'm certain I'll hold on to this piece for a while and get a lot of use out of it. The wheels are great too since it makes it easy to clean under and move around as needed. One note about assembly; even following the instructions, I could not get the front of the drawer to stay on tightly- the bolts they give you don't lock well and every time I would pull the drawer open it would start to get loose. It was annoying, but I fixed it with some wood glue and it has been no trouble at all. All in all, a great purchase and and totally worth the price. 4Well worth the price...This product is what you think it is... well made... will last for years and you will be happy you bought it.Assembly of the cabinet took 1 hour and the instructions and on-line videos were a great help.I'm very happy with this purchase... 5Yes, buy this cart.Love this cart! We removed an old and crappy L-shaped lazy susan and put this in its place. The cart is well made and sturdy. It is actual wood. It came with all the necessary fasteners. The directions seemed a little overwhelming at first, but I stuck with it and had it together in about an hour. I work at the hardware store so I used the wood oil for cutting boards that we sell here, and wow did that just make all the difference. I did the entire cabinet like the directions said. It darkened it up some, but in a good way. I did it again a week later, it looks even better. The photo is after I oiled it once. Overall, we are super happy with this cart. 5High quality, highly functional, great price and made in USA!This is a great cart for the money, and made in USA which makes it that much more of a bargain. I found it easy to put together - took about an hour. The towel bar can be located on either side, but you have to decide when you're putting it together. I have a small apartment so it's a good size cart; I considered getting the next larger one but am happy with what I got. The top isn't real butcher block, ie end grain, but that type of construction isn't possible without a much thicker top and subsequently a much higher price. I treated mine with a few coats of drug store mineral oil and it is perfectly suitable for cutting, not that I've done that yet. The drawer isn't very deep but it holds all of my knives and a few other gadgets as well. I have a tiny kitchen with limited storage and counter space so this is a great solution. The cabinet fits a couple larger pots and/or baking dishes. The doors close nicely and evenly, unlike the cheap-feeling imported crap sold at Walmart or wherever else.High quality and made in USA! Amazon has the best prices on Catskill Craftsmen and free shipping too! 5It is great to have storage that is hidden awayI was a little worried about this product since I saw some reviews that described difficulties putting the cabinet together, missing parts, ill fitting parts....but my husband was able to put it together without problem. It is great to have storage that is hidden away. Our previous cart was open. I'm very happy with this product. 5Outstanding customer service for a great productThis kitchen cart is beautiful and durable. It's worth taking the time to put it together properly. I recommend laying e.g. bath towels on the floor, then put the wood pieces on the towels to avoid scratches.I cannot write enough praise for Catskill's customer service. I needed help twice during the installation. Once involved my misreading the directions: they quickly helped me get the right parts in place. Their helpfulness goes far beyond what most manufacturers provide today. I would absolutely buy from them again. 5Quality Butcher BlockI love this butcher block cart. It is made very well and all the pieces fit together perfectly. Excellent quality materials. I used it for a year in a small apartment I was living in at the time. It was perfect for that space but now I am in a larger home and need I bigger one. I will definitely buy a larger Catskill butcher block for my larger kitchen.My new home has beautiful hardwood floors and the casters that come with this butcher block roll very easily and do not mark up the floor.I saw a much larger Catskill butcher block at a local kitchen gadget store that sold for lots more than Amazon. With free shipping through Amazon you can't go wrong. I also got the oil to protect it. 5Not Ethan Allen ....But.I've assembled several "knock down" type cabinets in the past, The Catskill cabinet felt like a quality piece of furniture without the price.I assembled as per the detailed instructions with hardly a problem the drawings were more than helpful.The need to extra nail or use glue would not be worth the effort.The patina of the wood was excellent for my kitchen and will only apply a little tung oil as they suggested later on.It was nice to see that the veneer was real and not a photo laminate.Go to a quality store like Ethan Allen and probably pay 5 times what you paid for a similar item .I'm using mine as a little place to keep my pocket stuff and dog leashes instead of the regular kitchen counter. 5An odd piece of furnitureIn some ways, when compared to traditional pieces of comes-in-a-box furniture, this is really nice. The butcher block top is, unsurprisingly, pretty nice (Catskill makes butcher blocks, too). A lot of the wood used seemed to be solid instead of particle board. Its nice to look at.On the downside, the instructions were not great. There were a couple of things that made me scratch my head and ask, "Really?" For instance the doors don't have real hinge hardware -- instead the door sits on a washer, and pivots on a dowel. LIkewise a lot of the wood joinery is done with just bolts and nuts -- with, IMO, a less-than-ideal amount of softwood that the nut pushes against. The "how to join two pieces of wood at 90 degrees". Having said that, it seems sturdy enough for now. 4A beautiful piece of furniture.I'm a small woman with Rhumatoid Arthritis and I put this together on my own. Took about 2 hours but I took it slow to be sure I was doing it correctly as the instructions were vague. 5
