Ease of UseI ordered the ChicWrap Foil Dispenser because the original box that my foiI came in always fell apart half way before the roll was finished and always tore unevenly. I love my new dispenser! It's attractive and well made and it's so easy to use! I think that this would make a wonderful gift because once you use it, you never want to be without it. I cannot vouch for the foil it came with because I haven't used it yet. My old foil roll fits this dispenser perfectly. I have already ordered the plastic wrap dispenser. I love that also! And plan to order the longer foil roll dispenser and parchment paper dispenser in the near future. Thank you for a great product. 5I'm so glad I finally decide to purchase itI saw this on a website a while back and put it on my wishlist. It sat there for a few months, since it seemed excessive to buy such expensive aluminum foil. However, I'm so glad I finally decide to purchase it. The dispenser is fantastic and literally brings a smile to my face every time I use it. I've even been a super dork and pulled out the box during parties, so friends can try it out to see how easy and amazing tearing a sheet of foil can be. My wife rolls her eyes at me, but my friends are always amazed. It's the simple things, I guess, lol. I've refilled it with grocery store foil a few times, with no issues. I highly recommend, and I have sent this dispenser to a few friends, as a gift. 5Stop Wrestling with Your Aluminum Foil BoxThis is a nice find. I wish I'd have thought of it. Wrestled with the flimsy boxes aluminum comes in for years. No longer have to fight with the store bought boxes that slide all over the counter and lose their shape when you go to tear off a piece. This box is nice and solid with non-skid "feet" so it stays put while you pull out your sheet of foil. Refillable with standard sized aluminum foil and super simple to use. GREAT IDEA! 5Doesn't stand up well.ALL of the foil boxes fall apart, so I ordered this as an alternative. At 20 bucks in April 2017, I thought it was overpriced, but it was attractive and seemed well made. The box has held up well, but the cutter has dulled in spite of light use. It now tears the foil no matter how I use it. If I had a place for a wall mounted unit that holds several different types of wrapping material; I would have gone with that. I wouldn't buy another until the cutting blade is much improved. Less than two years of very infrequent use isn't acceptable. **Still angry about the durability and unable to make myself order any kind of replacement, I have designed my own hack. I removed the cutting strip from a recent box of tin foil, cut it down to size and hot glued it to the edge of the box flap. It works wonderfully well so I will continue to use it in this fashion. Still, I find it too ridiculous to have to fix poor design. 2Curses, Foiled Again!I have the plastic wrap cousin to this foil dispenser and really like it a lot. So, I thought I'd be equally as pleased with this item. Not quite. I do think that the dispenser itself is mostly fine. Unlike the plastic wrap dispenser, this one has a top that flips open so that you can grab the end of the foil and drag it across the top of the lid. Sometimes you have to flip open both flaps to get to the foil; not the end of the world, but maybe a slight design flaw.I was bummed out with the foil that came with the dispenser. While the plastic wrap one comes with a sizable roll of quality wrap, the foil one comes with a small roll of very thin, wimpy wrap (the bargain basement kind). It ran out very quickly. The good news is that a regular sized roll of heavy duty foil fits in the dispenser. I've had no problems with the cutter getting through the higher quality wrap.I struggled between two and three stars for this review. At the end of the day, it is a good dispenser that does what it is meant to do. But, I think the design could be improved and that it should ship with decent foil. 3Best kitchen gadget ever!OMG! This is my most favorite kitchen gadget of all time! Here is why. (PS I am reviewing both the plastic wrap and foil dispensers) I had gotten so tired of softened foil and plastic wrap boxes with mushed in corners and falling off cutters. That s how mine always looked after being in the drawer for a while. Also my small hands had a hard time gripping the box assertively enough to get a good clean tear. ChicWrap dispensers to the rescue! Theyfits perfectly in the drawer with my other wraps. The magnetic box lids keep the protruding end of the wrap neat and protected. Best of all I don t even have to take them out of the drawer to get a perfect, flat, cleanly cut piece of foil or plastic wrap every time! Just open the drawer, pull out the length needed with two hands (!!) and slide the cutter across the top. Think of that - two hands to pull out plastic wrap. No snarled clinging to everything in sight, no jaggedly half torn barely usable pieces. Oh do I LOVE this gadget! They are well constructed of sturdy material, the cutters slide across easily and each holds a standard roll of foil or plastic wrap. If I wanted to take them out of my drawer the non skid feet on the bottom would keep them from skittering across the counter. Be sure to measure your drawer depth carefully remembering the cutter on the top of the box. Also, the the foil dispenser and the plastic wrap dispenser are designed differently so cannot really be used interchangeably. The foil box is also a little longer than the plastic wrap box. 5Wish I'd had these years ago!My cousin bought the plastic wrap & foil dispensers for me as a gift. We were watching the Pioneer Woman on the food network, when Ree Drummond was using one, and I said, man that is neat, I have to get that!! I don't even have to take it out of the drawer to use it. They are both so, so handy and easy to use. Anytime we have someone over for dinner and they see me use it, they want to know where they can get them. My husband loves them too! 5No More Wasted Aluminum Foil!I decided to get one of these after seeing these on several blogs a few years ago. I can't tell you how many times the roll of aluminum foil has fallen out of the box and rolled across the floor at my house prior to getting this. With my ChicWrap foil dispenser I am able to keep it either on my countertop and in addition to looking good, it keeps the roll of aluminum foil inside the box.Like others have said, the aluminum foil that came with it was a bit on the flimsy side. However it can be used with any store brand foil as well, and I have had no difficulties using it with my favorite brand. The great part is being able to cut just the size that I need, using the handy cutter on the top.The box itself is made of a hard cardboard material, which is durable and won't fall apart after repeated use. Plus, it is ok to wipe it down with a damp cloth if it gets food splatters etc.. on it. While it has a BBQ theme, I would love to see the foil dispenser have other designs as well similar to the plastic wrap dispenser, which is also on my to buy list for a future purchase. These make great gifts for the person who likes to cook and enjoys being in the kitchen, or using the grill. It makes life just that much easier.I bought the cling wrap one and I was hooked. I finally got the others and was not suprised by the smooth, easy cut they provided. The foil one specifically comes with a good quality foil. You could easily put your own foil in after it runs out though.Great way to organize your kitchen or as a unique gift for someone. 5How did I live without this?There are certain purchases you make where you ask yourself, "How did I ever live without this?" This is one of those products! Everytime I use it, I recall the days of fighting with plastic wrap. No more!
