Customer Reviews

DEFINITELY worth a try!I've been waiting to leave this review until I gave this pillow a chance. I purchased it based on the reviews of others for chronic neck pain that I have had since 2011. That pain started within a year of getting in a car accident, but I'm also a weightlifter, and work in IT sitting at a desk 50 hours a week with poor posture. I don't want to go into the details of my neck pain, but it's BAD. Migraines, muscle spasms, nausea, blurred vision, and overall feeling like garbage much of the time. A definite 10 on a 10 point scale. So much so that my complaining was starting to bother my girlfriend. Anyway, I've been to the chiropractor a bazillion times, have tried to correct my posture, have bought every gimmicky product out there with only minor, short lived relief. Pain meds and NSAIDs only dull the pain. I have also spent hundreds of dollars on pillows which has now become a joke with my girlfriend and I when I come home with a new one because until now, we knew how it would end up.On the the pillow... Just like everyone else has said, this pillow takes some getting used to without a doubt. It's firm, it's oddly shaped, and it's hollow in the middle. Weird. The first few nights I couldn't get comfortable and tossed & turned A LOT. I primarily sleep on my back or side and just couldn't find the spot. I have now been using for a week and I have grown to like it. More importantly, my neck pain has gone from a constant 10 to probably a 3 or 4. When I started using this pillow I also removed my 3" memory foam topper from my bed based on a friends advise and I think that is helping too.I definitely feel a difference after using this product and for the price, I highly recommend it. You just have to tough it out a few nights until you find your spot and can get nestled in.5GRRRRReat pillow for sixish monthsnot the same pillow. I have been using Core products for over twenty years and they have really taken a turn for the worse. These pillows used to be incredible!! However they don't hold up to the test of time. The current iteration of pillow is less dense, stuffed unevenly, and compresses too quickly, aaaaand they are not as firm as they once were. Yes, I still buy these pillows because for the first few months they are heavenly for sore necks. Wish I could hop in the Delorean and buy one of these pillow from the early 90's.3Get the petite one unless you are literally Andre the Giant.I get tension headaches and migraines often enough that it was eating into my sick leave. So, when a friend recommended this pillow, I jumped at it.It's been two months and it has really helped. I have gone from a migraine 3 times a month to maybe once a month, which is wonderful. My neck is still tense, but it's getting better. The petite size is just fine for me, and I'm a pretty sizable gal. I think the full size would be too much.5Have finally ended your quest for the perfect pillow?Let me guess, a bad neck while sleeping probably brought you here. Me too. Yep, some weeks back I woke up with a painful surprise in my neck. It isn't the first time it has happened. Usually, I will just deal with it and over time, maybe a few days, everything will work itself out and I am back to normal again. This most recent neck ache would not go away however. I would even wake up at night and find my neck contorted in such a way that I was just making things even worse. There would be no self healing if I couldn't put my head in a position that would allow it to heal. So, like many of you are probably doing, I went on a quest to find the holy grail of pillows. If you have arrived at the end of your journey...or if you are just beginning, I'll tell you that there are many pillows out there and all of them claim something magical by resting your weary head on them. You wouldn't believe how complicated pillow shopping is. I can tell you that no review will help you find the right one. I guess the reason we have so many different pillows out there is because everyone is so different and finicky when it comes to a product like this. There are pillows that will cost you hundreds of dollars, some are filled with water and some with bamboo. There are thin ones, fat ones, misshaped ones, feather ones, cotton ones, memory foam and NASA probably has one filled with cloud vapors. The problem is that you are going to have to try them for yourself and find whats best for you.Being a side and stomach sleeper, I started my quest by narrowing down the search to pillows that claimed support for someone like me. I tried the "wavy mountain memory foam pillow" (that is not the products name...I don't remember what it is called) that cradles your head and I also tried a flat pillow. Neither one seemed to help. Looking on Amazon, I stumbled across this one and was intrigued by it's design. It was definitely something that I had never tried before. The good thing is that it wasn't too expensive and I was getting desperate. I tried to find this particular pillows in some of the big box stores to at least put my hands on it but I could not find anything like it anywhere. So, I guess I was destined to gamble with this thing.Upon arrival, I inspected the quality of the pillow and was pleased with that. The stitching was well done, it was clean, and I didn't notice any horrible smell. I wouldn't say this pillow is "soft". Other pillows that I purchased throughout my journey, had a feeling of sinking right down into them and some were like rocks. This one is firm and it's innards has that stuffing that you find in craft stores. It feels and looks like that poly-fil fiber. I found some of it stuck to the pillow fabric when I removed it from it's plastic bag and I can also see it through the white material that holds it all together. The garment tag also states that it is made out of 100% Polyester Fiber. Anyway...if it works...I don't care if it is made out of seaweed...I'll try it! Trying it out for the first time was a little odd. I tried the "Larger Neck Support" side and turned it around to try the "Smaller Neck Support" side. The larger neck side actually seems softer allowing your neck to sink down nearly level with the "hole" area. This also enables the lower areas of the pillow to support the sides of your neck a bit more. I decided to use this approach as it seemed more comfortable to me. I also noticed that when I am sleeping on my side that if I angle the pillow a bit that this helps me achieve a more comfortable position as well. I am trying to avoid sleeping on my stomach because I think that is where a lot of my problems are coming from. I've been using the pillow for a few weeks now and although I cannot say that I am completely healed, I am doing better. I can now turn my head to back the car out of the driveway a lot more comfortably! So is it the pillow or me being a bit more conscientious of how I am sleeping? Who knows, maybe a combination of both. I found this pillow to be comfortable for me to sleep on. The "hole" area allows my head to rest down and my neck appears to level out when using it. I do angle it a bit for comfort.Well, that is my adventure. There are probably better ones out there but honestly I can't afford to try them all. This one was more unique than some of the ones that I tried and it seemed to be what I needed. Waking up in the middle of the night, with massive neck pain, and noticing the positions that I was putting my neck in gave me the idea that I needed something to sink my head and help hold my neck in place. Of course, when we are sleeping, some of us toss around quite a bit and we are never truly "settled" into one place all night. I can tell you that I am waking up a lot less at night and after a few weeks of use, my neck feels a whole lot better. I can't say that I'd recommend this pillow...because we are all different sleepers...but I can say that it worked for me.4I'll admit I was skeptical...After a 6-day raging tension headache, I took the advice of my doctor and started searching for a pillow with neck support. This one made a lot of big claims, and reviews seemed mostly positive, so I went for it.When it arrived, I was disappointed. It felt way too hard, and not at all like it would be comfortable. I rushed to the bedroom so I could lay down on it, and decided it wasn't what I had hoped for and was going to send it back. Boyfriend steps in with the whole "don't knock it till you try it" thing, and I agree to give it a week. Very glad I gave it a try.A few positive notes:1. Yes, it's firm. They don't mess around when they call it a firm, full-support pillow. As it turns out, that's part of why I love it! Soft pillows (and even "firm" ones) that I've had in the past usually last me no longer than a month, as my fat head is really spectacular at wearing pillows down to nothing. I have some real faith in the durability of this pillow, even after just the first couple of nights.2. Yes, it's large. They don't make that claim lightly either. I would say I have a normal to slightly larger than normal head. There is AMPLE space for it in the indented region of the pillow with some movement to either side befor running into the side-sleeper edges. Attached photos show pillow with remote as well as monstrously large 17 lb. cat for size reference.3. As a multi-faceted sleeper who could go pro in tossing and turning or creative sleeping positions, I find that this pillow is equal parts supportive and flexible (flexible more so in the sense that it gives you the freedom to sleep comfortably in a variety of ways, not so much the nature of the pillow itself) for many kinds of sleepers, from back, to stomach, to side, and anywhere between. My headaches are now few and far between, and I've discovered that my neck actually DOES have range of motion after all! Who knew?!And of course, a few qualms:1. Mine, as a few others have noted, had a slight off putting smell to it when it arrived. I have a pretty keen olfactory sense, and the smell of mine was light enough that I could be lazy and go right to sleep on it without any cleaning the first night without any issues. Didn't even notice the smell after that. My guess is that airing out was good enough, or that perhaps it was the plastic bag that smelled. Who knows. I'm not too concerned.2. Definitely not love at first sight, and that's why I've rated it four stars instead of five. If boyfriend hadn't made me keep it, I would have sent it back without a second thought. No, it's not going to be the perfect pillow for everyone, but for some it will probably be pretty stellar if you get as far as trying it out for a week. Don't give up on it based on your "fresh out of the box" impressions.Hope that helps clarify some of the common concerns.42 herniated discs -Finally some relief!I typically am too lazy to write reviews. :) However, I really feel I need to for this item. I have two herniated discs in my neck. I've tried many different (& expensive) pillows and none of them helped. I was on painkillers pretty much all the time. The neck pain often turned into migraines & I was suffering A LOT. I was getting ready to schedule surgery... SERIOUSLY....I decided to give this pillow a try, since it came in the 'petite' size and I have a small frame . I didn't have high expectations because it is just a pillow for pete's sake. Plus, it is inexpensive. I'm not trying to sound corny; but after a day or two of getting used to the feel of the pillow, I have been waking up with no or very minimal pain. I am so happy because I can put off surgery for now!! The pillow has improved my quality of life. Hallelujah!! I think it is probably because the size is just right for my little neck. I start sleeping on my back, but if I end up on my side the pillow is still supportive and comfortable. I highly recommend this product. A pillow can do wonders for neck pain if you find the right one. Give it a try!5Disappointed I literally hate it.. I have so much neck pain since two shoulder surgeries that now contain hardwear. This pillow was so uncomfortable no support etc.-While trying to find a comfortable position I literally screamed and threw it across the room, I had so much hope, The designs had the look i imagined for a supportive aid, but one end is too wide the other too thin, both collapse to easy i.e NO SUPPORT I get angry everytime I see it in the linen closet don t know why I haven t tossed it yet. 1Not the solution I was hoping forI've been sleeping on this pillow for exactly one year, and I feel that I can accurately review it now. Here are my observations:1) It is more supportive and ergonomic than your standard poly or down pillow, which is why I'm still sleeping on it, but it has not solved my chronic neck pain as I'd hoped.2) It's difficult to tell which neck roll is the taller side and which is the lower, so I sometimes wake up in the morning to worse neck pain than ever and realize that I've slept on the wrong (tall) side.3) Unless you sleep by yourself, in order to switch from sleeping on your back to your side you have to shift the pillow over on the bed underneath you. Definitely not conducive to uninterrupted sleep.4) Once you've repositioned the pillow so that the raised part is under your head, it is nearly impossible to find a comfortable position because those raised parts are simply too narrow! You basically have to nudge your head out to the very edge of the pillow, otherwise your head will be rolling back into the center and your neck muscles tensing up in order to try to keep your head balanced.5) When I am able to sleep on my side, I often wake up because my ear is killing me. This pillow is firm!!!6) At the 1 year point, the pillow is degrading enough that the shape is a little wonky, the support is less, and the polyfill is getting lumpy. When I started writing this review I thought I'd have more positive things to say, but I guess overall I'm pretty dissatisfied. I had very high hopes, as it was recommended by my massage therapist, but this pillow was definitely not the solution I was hoping for!2Fused from C3 to C7... Cervie APPROVED... Just got this as a replacement for my Standard Core Cervical Pillow I had for almost 6 years. I decided to go with the Firm and I am so happy I did. Slept great last night. If you have neck issues (I have had 3 surgeries and I am completely fused from C3 to C7 with hardware) you will LOVE this pillow. 5I've had several neck surgeries and I need really good support. I tried several different types/varieties and this ... I've had several neck surgeries and I need really good support. I tried several different types/varieties and this is the best by far.Thank you for giving me a better nights sleep pain free 5Falling apart in less than 2 months After less than two months of use the pillow is becoming misshapen and a seam has come undone allowing the stuffing to protrude through a large area. 1Didn't work for meI've bought a Core pillow before that I really liked. It was a simple multi-foam contoured pillow for my neck. I decided to try the Tri-Core and was very dissapointed. The pillow is too stiff and aggrivates my chronic neck pain. You have a narrow width to rest your head and neck on if you're a side sleeper. If you move much in your sleep your head falls in to the middle or off edge of pillow. I finally had to stop using after a few months and my pain reduced. Not recommended.1Did the product change or does the color matter? I have bought this product before, but this time, the "standard" firmness seems too soft in the middle sections. I had purhcased this item to replace one that was getting too bent out of shape from a few years of use, so I am a bit disappointed in how soft this is. This time, I bought the blue one, and I am wondering if the blue material is softer than their standard material, or if it is just the cover? 3Great Cervical Pillow It's been a long time since I've slept this well. I received the firm just about a month ago noticing a better sleep after the third night. It is very firm that will soften a bit after a few weeks of use. Very helpful at reducing frequency of my chronic migraine headaches following a neck injury and shingles attack 5 years ago. It is likely the single-most successful non-pharmaceutical intervention at managing daily cervical pain and chronic migraines I have found. 5Having dimensions would have been nice. This pillow is much larger than it seems ... Having dimensions would have been nice. This pillow is much larger than it seems from the pictures. I found it to have to much height for me to use it. Had it been 30% thinner I would have likely found it to be usable. 1Unfortunately it did not work for me I don't actually think this is a bad pillow, it just didn't work for my particular needs. It is exactly as described: very firm on the edges with enough space in the center for your head to be barely cradled. For me, the problem is that the edges were TOO firm. It had the weird effect of making me more alert so I had trouble drifting into a deep sleep. And after trying it for about 6 hours of half-sleep, once I swapped it back for my previous pair of pillows (a down on top of a medium-firm-at-best), my neck hurt.I was hoping it would do something for the chronic head pain I wake up with. Alas, no - I'll keep looking. 4Used to be a fantastic product, now I'm stuck hunting for a quality support pillow againI've been using this product for three years now and loved it. However, my old pillow wore down after a year and I needed a new one. Sad to say they've cheaper out and it's not at all what It used to be. The neck support area has almost no padding or cushioning, the rest of the pillow feels the same (even though it's supposed to be FIRM). After a month of use I can no longer use it any further because there is absolutely no support left anymore, my last ones lasted just about a year. There's no way to add more stuffing or rearrange it. I'm extremely disappointed, and will be using the old pillow in the meantime since at a year old it still has more support than this new one.1Best pillow ever for neck pain! I have reversal of my cervical vertebrae from a bad car accident and also scoliosis. I did physical therapy for months which helped but since stopping physical therapy a year ago my neck has gotten worse. This pillow is honesty the best purchase I've ever made! Yes it takes some getting used to (about 2 weeks for me) but now my neck feels so much better in the mornings and I sleep much better too. 5I was very happy with this product I was very happy with this product. Two days into using it, my neck and shoulder pain were gone. I recommended this pillow to a co-worker and we both were extremely happy at first because we were both suffering with similar neck and shoulder pain from sleeping. The oddest thing happen, our pillows started giving out its support around the same time. The middle of the pillow lost its support and we started having a different discomfort on the back of our necks. Very frustrated that i'm back to square one with looking for a pillow and im back with my neck and shoulder discomforts. I purchased this pillow in August 2017 and in January 2018 i gave it to the dog because i cant take the discomforts. Very Frustrated that i spend the amount and not have a solution. 2Such a great thing for your neck... be sure to pick the correct sizingIve had chronic neck and back issues for years and know all too well just how important the proper pillow and sleep positions can be for keeping your spine and body healthy. I was introduced to this pillow by my physical therapist and it was just what my neck needed. However I had trouble determining the appropriate sizing. Read below for a complete review of the Tri-core Mid size Firm and the Tri-Core Petite Firm pillow. The concept of this pillow is genius, I'm a firm believer that even people with "healthy necks" would benefit greatly from using this to sleep because it keeps your head and neck in proper alignment while your asleep (and also unaware of what your doing to the position of your neck) The idea of having a support at the base of the neck allows the muscles of the side and front of the neck to relax in a natural position. I've had spine surgery and suffer from neck and back spasms, so for me getting the neck muscles to stay relaxed is critical. This pillow does just that. It is firm and does take some getting used to initially. But if it wasn't firm then it wouldn't provide the proper support to hold your neck up.SIZING : I read the description and had trouble deciding the correct size. For reference I am a 5'5" tall woman who weighs 118lbs. This pillow comes in Full size which would be ideal for large adults, Im talking like 6ft tall. Mid- Size which is ideal for average adults and women. Then Petite which is ideal for small women and kids. The Mid size measures 22" long x 15" wide and 4" high at the neck part. The height is the part that is most important as this is the height of the roll that is going to be supporting your neck. The height of the mid size is a tiny bit high for my neck. So I tried the Petite Size. It says petite is meant for under 5'2" but because I have a small neck it actually felt more comfortable because the height of the petite is one inch less. The petite measures 19" x 12" x 3" high. It is basically a scaled down in size version of the mid size pillow which means the side sleeping areas are even smaller. Even though the neck roll height felt perfect there wasn't much head space in the center and the area to side sleep was only about 4.5" wide. Ultimately I think the mid-size is the more appropriate pillow for my size, it just needs to be flattened and broken in a little to feel more comfortable. If your unsure of the sizing, I suggest trying it out with a hand towel. Roll the towel tightly until it's about a 4" roll. Then place it under your neck and see how it feels. This is essentially how the pillow feels, it's very firm. For petite size roll into a 3" roll. Hope that helps!5
