It isn't too hard to turn, and grinds nixtamalized (soft-cooked lime-treated corn) quickly to a fluffy texture just right for tamales. I also do bread-baking, and it does a good job of cracking whole grains when recipe calls for a specific grind. 5Five Stars It is a corona what can I say? 5Design Flaw The metal to metal contact on this unit guarantees that metal shavings and dust will fall into your food. The cotter pin sits too high to avoid being ground down by the tightening screw mechanism. 1Not good shipping, missing most parts. Not sure about sturdyness or function of this product but it is solid and heavy. On arrival, box was all broke open and only thing in the box were the big pieces. 3Caveat Emptor: Save your money and buy a knock-off The Corona brand grain mill is horrible but the customer service is even worse. The folks who reply to emailed customer service inquires are rude and condescending. I will sooner purchase a knock-off than give my hard earned money to a company who doesn't appreciate it's customers.When part of my mill broke, I reached out to the manufacturer inquiring about a replacement part. I'd seen a diagram of the parts breakdown but was wanting confirmation before ordering the part to ensure I was buying the right thing. The reply I received was not at all helpful but rather ONLY condescending and insulting as they accused me of being ignorant for not being able to decipher the diagram. On top of this, they charge more for the shipping than for the part itself which brought the cost of the part to more than half the cost of buying a new mill from one of their suggested retailers. They argued with me about this and again implied that I'm ignorant for not understanding why the cost of a poorly cast hunk of aluminum could be so expensive. All over their website one can read the warnings of making sure you purchase only a true Corona brand mill but I can't imagine what you might sacrifice by purchasing a knock-off as the originals aren't of exceptional quality themselves. The castings are horrible and many of the threads are tapped crookedly making the crank wobble when turned. This resulted in premature malfunction of my mill.In summation, I'd recommend saving your money and opting for one of the less expensive Corona knock-offs so that you feel less guilt when throwing it away - it's really only a matter of time. Then I recommend you purchase the Wonder Mill, as I did, and never look back at this inferior product represented by rude jerks. 1Five Stars excellent product at a good price. Very thankful. 5The grain mill I received was not the same as ... The grain mill I received was not the same as the grain mill pictured for sale. The mill pictured for sale was a Corona mill. The mill i received was a crude knock-off made in Columbia by Victoria. The grinding plates did not fit together very well, and it was coated with a shiny metal coating that came off in the ground grain. I have returned this mill. 1Would recommend to a fellow him brewer Ground through whole corn with no trouble. Would recommend to a fellow home brewer. 4
