Customer Reviews

Got this pan and loved it. It heated very nicely and evenly Got this pan and loved it. It heated very nicely and evenly, did not stick or anything. Within a week it warped and the bottom is no longer flat; as such, it doesn't sit right on the stove burner and gets hot spots and half of it is a lot hotter than the other half. This has made cooking in it quite problematic. On top of that, it has developed a weird white spotty stain in it that's only visible when it's dry (see pictures). I have emailed Cuisinart's customer service over a week ago and have gotten no response at all. 1Bottoms are NOT flat, Only the out edges touch glass top stoves! The bottom of these pans are NOT flat. They are concave and bow upwards. Only the outermost edges actually come in contact with glass top stoves. Returned immediately. 1Works Great on Induction! Nice Quality! As many other reviewers have stated, this item works on induction. The non-stick surface actually feels "slicker" than our expensive MasterClad non-stick. We have a Bosch induction cooktop but not the model with the bridgeable burners. I decided to boil some water in the griddle to clean it and discovered that this provided a very good heat coverage map across two burners. The first picture shows the water starting to boil. The second picture 60 seconds later shows that the heat transfer of the pan is so efficient that there is an almost unbroken line of "boiling hot" metal. Because of this I expect that on lower pancake, egg, or crepe type heats we will get a very good experience. Also note the orange border underneath the griddle. This is a Silpat silcone mat, also available on Amazon. Prevents the griddle from slipping and protects the ceramic surface. The burners were set on highest setting for this boil test. So thumbs up on the griddle and highly recommend the silicone mat for protection and slippage elimination when cooking. 5Where have you been all my life?! Once I learned how to properly heat stainless steel skillets so that the food doesn't stick to them, I've been using Cuisinart Chef's Classic line. The results have been good to very good (especially given the price/quality ratio.) (Hint: search on YouTube "rouxbe how to heat a pan")This MultiClad Pro skillet is from a different dimension altogether - heavier, sturdier, delivering consistently great results every time. Great for browning foods, sauteing meats and poultry, sauces, omlettes, dishes that need to go into the oven, etc. This skillet is especially great for creating a "fond", or caramelized bits of stuck-on food that is used for flavoring your final dish.Clean up is very easy - just put some water into the skillet and heat it up; once it cools a bit, wipe it clean. In extreme cases use "Bar Keeper's Friend" which is available in places like Target. Please note that bleach, ammonia, metal sponges and other abrasives will scratch the surface of your stainless steel fry pan.In summary, highly recommend! 5Finally a good non-stick induction ready dual burner griddle FInally! I have been searching forever for a decent non-stick griddle that works well with a dual burner induction. This one fits the bit. Heat is also distributed so the whole pan heats pretty evenly. 5Need extra handle. I was searching 4qt saucer and found this.I own other brand multi clad (or tri clad) pots and pans so I compared this to them.1. I think it is decent quality.2. Handle is not so impressive. It is not big and thick enough to lift 4qt pot. My favorite handle is Cooks standard. Worst is All-Clad3. Design problem: One thin handle is not enough for this 4qt pot. It surely needs a small supporting handle on the other side. With food inside, it gets really heavy and carrying the pot with this skinny handle is very very hard. I don't plan to fill it with only 1cup of sauce or something. I bought this size because I wanted to cook something more than 1qt. For that, the one skinny handle is not even close. So Now I understand why many other companies do not make 4qt pot with one handle. Because it is so hard to lift or carry. 3Not what it used to be, that same old song The Cuisinart Multiclad Pro line used to be great cookware. Now it's just good cookware. The demotion comes at the expense of the "new and improved" handles they have affixed to these products. They are not improved at all- they are significantly less comfortable to hold, with sharper edges. One can only assume Cuisinart is trying to sell us cheaply-made and inferior products, while telling us it's for our benefit. Shame on you, Cuisinart. If this decision was truly for the "stay cool" properties you espouse, I'm sure you could have figured out a way to also make them more comfortable, not less. I got annoyed enough typing this out I took off another star. One for the change, and one for the lie that it's for our benefit.Still recommended and decent cookware if you can get it on sale, but not these handles, not at this price. Please try again, Cuisinart.Still recommended on sale, but these pots and pans just aren't what they used to be. Wish I could trade it for an old model. 3Excelent bang for your buck! I've never cooked on stainless before, much less a triple-layer clad skillet, and all I can say is "what in the hell have I been waiting for". My very first use I made pan seared boneless skinless chicken breasts that I saw on an episode of America's Test Kitchen called "Weeknight Workhorse's" season 11, episode 14. I did exactly what the chef says to do and WOW! perfection! Ide have to say the negative reviews that involves burning are most likely cases of trying to cook too hot and too fast. After a half dozen uses I am sold on the multi-clad idea. Only time will tell how the quality holds up. 5Warranty Problems My pan lasted about 16 months and then the non-stick coating started peeling from the pan. The lifetime warranty on the pan is not what it appears to be because Cuisinart will not replace a plan where the coating is separating from the pan unless the pan is relatively new. Do not buy this pan for the lifetime warranty because you will pay to ship the pan to Cuisinart and then find out that the non-stick coating was compromised by customer misuse and you will be out the cost of shipping the pan to Cuisinart. 2Professional Review....The Cuisinart performs EQUALLY AS WELL as the All-clad... Beautiful utility hallmarks this 4qt gem. ATK did not test this pan when it awarded the Tramontina pan best bang for the buck. ATK used the "Chef Classic" which is not a full tri-clad pan but a layered base only pan. I Ordered both this and the Tramontina pan to compare to the All-Clad I already own.I chose the Cuisinart because....It is much prettier than the All-Clad or TramontinaThe handle isn't as huge and "clumsy" as the Tramontina,The All-Clad pan has a tapered thin handle which makes it much more difficult to control heavy ingredients than the CuisinartThe Cuisinart has a pouring lip the All-Clad does not. The lack of a lip makes the All-Clad a messy nuisance and nearly useless in an active kitchen environment. The Tramontina lip is huge and ridiculous looking yet does not seal better or serve any other functional purposeThe Cuisinarts' corners can be reached with a whisk just as easily as my All-Clad. This was one of ATK's test criteriaI already have an entire set of Cuisinart Chef Classic pans so the lids are all interchangeableI have owned my Chef Classic pans since before Cuisinart produced Multiclad pans. Other than the sides getting very hot like a commercial black steel pan and can scorch cream-based ingredients if you don't know what you are doing (as mentioned by ATK) I have had no complaintsThe Cuisinart performs EQUALLY AS WELL as the All-clad and costs less than either of the other pans. One plus for the Tramontina...It has a helper handle which made emptying the pans' contents into a colander or down the drain much easier. I found that an oven glove or pot holder worked well with all pans in these situations as even the helper handle got very hot on a gas stoveFinal note: Are there any suckers out there that want to buy my used All-Clad pans so I can go buy the entire set of the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro...and still have enough money to buy a new dishwasher? 5
