Customer Reviews

Perfect every time!I had a Cuisinart 4-slice Belgian Waffle Maker just like this one for 20 years and the nonstick surface finally gave out. This new one is a dream just like the old one. Light, fluffy waffles every time. We love to add chocolate chips right after I pour in the batter. Delicious! I sprayed the Teflon surface with some regular cooking spray and preheated the unit by closing it and letting it heat until the green light came on. To open the unit, you must push a safety switch forward and it opens easily. Next, I gave the top and bottom surface a quick spray again with the cooking spray and spooned the batter in. ( I use the extra cooking spray just to be extra cautious that the waffles don't stick because I cut out the oil in my recipe to cut out fat. Instead of using oil I substitute applesauce in the batter.) I threw a few chocolate chips down around in the batter on the bottom surface and closed the lid until I heard a click. I set the heating cycle just slightly above the recommended mark because I like my waffles pretty brown. They have a chance to cook more evenly when you brown them more. When the green light came on, they were perfect! You can't go wrong with a Cuisinart. They make quality products that last for ages. I'll never buy any other brand when it comes to kitchen appliances. 5Worst Waffle Maker I've Ever Owned In My LifeI am on my second WAF-150. Returned the first one because it was only cooking half the waffles- one side would be raw and the other side over done. Having same problem again. Tried several different brands of waffle/pancake mix to see if that was the problem. I'm getting really sick of ruined breakfasts and now the return window closed a week or two ago and I am stuck with this junk. We had an older round Cuisinart waffle maker that was 20 + years old that made flawless waffles till it finally died. I regret not going for a similar design. IF this one worked, you'd be able to get 4 large waffles out at once instead of having to make the kid one at a time. Unfortunately mine doesn't work so I just have a $60 counter decoration and have to resort to buying Eggos. Our half cooked waffles look like topographic maps..lol. Don't waste your time and money. 1Very easy to use PERFECT waffle iron, Properly break it in and you will LOVE it.This waffle iron WORKS! Proper cleaning as recommended in instructions. Oiled with spray Pam. Preheated to Green light at max setting, Repeated a couple of times to function check, Burned off any factory coating and season plates. This thing probably got assembled and never has been fired up before setting on my counter. Let it cool to touch. Wiped down plates. Set control at mid point. Frist batch of waffles tossed just because. They looked fine, but were just a test. No sticking. No problems moved control to higher, darker setting.Perfect waffles, No fuss. No spray. No sticking. Pre heat closed. Green light, Ladle in waffle batter. Close and wait till Green light comes back on.Repeat until you run out of batter or you have made all the waffles you desire. 5Fabulous!I received this waffle maker for Christmas (a day early because my loved ones REALLY wanted waffles) and it is fabulous! Made 16 waffles in 20 minutes! They're a great size and browned beautifully! Absolutely perfect and easy to use. I love it! 5No sticking!Firstly, don't be afraid to purchase something refurbished. This item came in perfect condition. If you can't afford or don't want to pay top dollar for new items this is an affordable way to shop. Secondly I cook recipes with no added fats like butter and oils and don't coat surfaces with oil while cooking. That can be very difficult and frustrating. I've had terrible luck trying to cook waffles in the past but recently purchased this item to make 2 recipes. One was from the Esselstyn's Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease cookbook and another no oil recipe from Pinterest Applesauce Waffles and both came out without sticking or breaking apart. Couple of tips: wait 8 minutes without opening the cover and only pour about a third of a cup to fill the center so you can gently lift the waffle with a wooden skewer or something like that so as not to scratch the surface. Both recipes were delicious and didn't miss the oils we left out. I'm trying to cut down on unneccessary calories and my husband is on a restricted no fat diet so this was a wonderful tasty way to still eat the foods we love. 5Died with popping noises after only 7 months of once a week use.Heats quickly and cooks evenly. The top latches to the bottom so rising waffle batter fills the spaces. Non-stick really works. Construction is robust and solid. A good looking addition to the kitchen.Update Oct. 28, 2017: Bought this in April, 2017. Used once a week. Heard several popping sounds while cooking waffles this morning. Waffle iron flat doesn't work anymore. That's totally unacceptable. If I can find the warranty paperwork, I'll report further on the company's response. In contrast, my mom bought a Toastmaster waffle iron in the 1930's that we were still using weekly into the 1960's with no problems. That's why I changed a 4 star review into 1 star. 1Poor customer service, non-stick coating rubs off quickly.Very very rarely write reviews. Had this iron for 5 months and the non-stick coating started rubbing off. It absolutely tears up my waffles now. Customer service offered to replace but shipping and handling costs are $20 and I was told that if it gets lost in the mail they will not honor the warranty. Only paid $40 for this thing anyway. Will never buy a Cuisinart product again. Will use this as a sandwich press until it really, really stops working.I do not recommend buying this. It will not work long-term, and the company will not support its product in any meaningful way.For a point of reference, we bought a Roku 3 a few years ago from SlingTV. Last week the battery cover broke. Roku sent us a brand new remote, free of charge, without any problems, even though the product was out of warranty, we couldn't state definitively when we bought it, and could not provide a receipt. We actually asked about purchasing a replacement plate for it but Roku said no and sent us a brand new remote. 1Seems to be....Seems to be working very well, the waffles come out pretty good. The cleaning is not that bad at all I do is take a wet paper towel with a little bit of soap on one end and wipe the inside, then take a dry paper towel to dry it. Then use the wet side with no soap to get any residue left from the soap, then dry again. Total time is less than 5 minutes. Also using this wafile maker you have to use a thick batter, I tried using a thin one and it did not turn well. 4My boys love the Costco Kodiak waffles and eat them dailyMy boys love the Costco Kodiak waffles and eat them daily. This waffle maker has made my life so much easier in the mornings! I haven't had any of the waffles stick or had any trouble getting them out. It cooks all 4 waffles quicker than my old waffle maker. I would agree with another post that the bottom grill does get a bit browner than the top grill, but really this is going to happen with any waffle maker unless you buy the flip waffle maker. I love that I can choose the setting for how brown I want them. When your done it folds up nicely and stores upright, so it doesn't take up much space. My only complaint is that it does not make any noise... it would be nice if it made a ding or bell sound when the waffles are done. You have to keep an eye on the lights. 5Very pleased with purchase!I reviewed, researched, then chose this waffle maker. I had to replace a waffle maker that our family had, for more than 30 years. So I was looking for similar quality. I am very pleased with this purchase. I have attached some photos to (hopefully) help someone who is trying to compare products, or trying to decide. This is moderately priced, and sometimes, you re not sure what you re getting when ordering online. The one and only negative I have with this product, is the dial/button for waffle crispness. The button is slightly wobbly and I am concerned if it will hold up over the years. That is the reason for the 4 star rating. Otherwise, the waffle maker is top notch, and worth the money. The product stores nicely on its side or flat, in a pantry or cabinet. It feels sturdy, when you operate the push button to lift the handle. I feel that I will not have to purchase a waffle maker again, in my lifetime. The waffles finished beautifully, with a crisp outside, and tender inside, on the medium setting. 4
