Customer Reviews

Exactly what you would imagine Yes, it's perfect. I bought a little clock with 3 levels of brightness, but even dimming down to the darkest one, my room is filled with bright ghoulish blue light at night. So I went looking for a product like this, just as anyone reading these reviews is doing. This is exactly what you are probably picturing. A thin piece of transparent but dark plastic that has static cling. Thin enough to stay stuck to the clock face. Not so thin that it could crease accidentally. BTW, most reviewers seem to have received the same product that I did, but there Is one review here saying the product is wavy and another reviewer said it created bubbles and had an onion skin. They must have received defective products. This is a shiner flat piece of plastic or vinyl. I would say if that's what you get, return it. The product is exactly as you would imagine it should be. It wouldn't create bubbles if you tried. It becomes like it is the clock face. You can't tell its there as it has the same shiny surface gloss as a clock face does, and it sits completely flat on the face. It does the trick. I use it on the dimmest setting, and then in the morning I turn the dimmer button back to the brightest setting and I can see the clock numerals fine in the daylight. 5Easily customizable, and very, very dark I bought this pack so that I could cut out the exact size that I wanted, and it fit the bill perfectly. These static cling dimming sheets work great, though they're borderline too dark for a room that is very bright. Attached is a photo of my alarm clock in good light, and the numbers actually appear a little brighter in the photo than they do in person, so be aware of this. At night, the numbers are perfectly readable, and definitely a huge improvement over the glow of the LEDs without the dimming sheet. 4I give it a 2 star for being the right ... I give it a 2 star for being the right % on the tint scale. But the description "sheets" should not be plural. Also, you can buy an entire roll for $10 more...if all you need is one this works tho 2Does what it says, but could be better. Does what it says---it makes my stupidly bright (entirely too expensive) alarm clock dim enough that I can bear to have it in my bedroom. I also like the fact that it's static cling, so I don't have to deal with any adhesive backing (and it's easily removable). On the negative side: It's a soft vinyl, so it doesn't really sit flat on the surface. You can't really get all the bubbles out from under it, and even where there are no bubbles, it has a bumpy oatmeal texture that I could do without. Be great if it was more like a somewhat stiffer cell-phone protector that looked smooth when applied properly.I also have a LightDims Customizable Original Strength - Light Dimming Sheets for Alarm Clocks, Electronics and Appliances and more. Dims 50-80% of The Light, Medium Size in Retail Packaging., which has it's own problems. It's too thin and uses glue, so blurs the display. 3It's Tint...for Alarm Clocks. Let that sink in for a moment... I had to purchase a new alarm clock after my 10 year old Emerson SmartSet finally died. Wouldn't power on anymore. I'd had it for years. It was one of those cool "smart" Emerson alarm clocks that programs itself when you plug it in and later automatically adjusts to daylight saving time. So...I set out to buy another one. I bought the current model of the Emerson smart clock at Walmart. It seems to work okay. Plugged it up and watched it immediately program itself. That's what I want! Fast forward: bedtime. I turned the lights off, and suddenly we have a blue lighthouse in the corner of the bedroom. You could read a book by the light. I switched it to "dim," and now you can only read a book if you're next to it...laying in the bed. I can't sleep like this! I have light blocking curtains just to block out the moonlight! We didn't sleep for days. We were exhausted. So, I came to Amazon for a potential solution. I ordered this tint film try to dim the light to a bearable level. Let that sink in for a minute: I bought a $19 alarm clock from Walmart...and then I bought TINT for it. And I couldn't wait for it to arrive. When these little tint sheets arrive, I ripped it open, eyeballed it to size (it's an alarm clock for crying out loud; it's not like I'm tinting a car) and cut it down with my pocket knife (ain't got no time for scissors). I slapped this baby on...and I could barely see the clock from across the room in broad daylight. Oh yeah, I forgot it was on dim. Switched to bright. That works! But...wait until bedtime.Bedtime arrived, I smacked the dim button on the alarm clock and crawled in bed. The alarm clock, even on dim, is still too bright. But at least now, it's manageable to the point we've been able to get used to it. This tint dimmed it considerably and did just what it advertised to do! I can't fault this product for an incredibly poor designed Emerson product. 5So glad this product even exists What a time to be alive. I was laying awake at night wishing there was something I could do to make my hellish alarm clock less bright. I googled "alarm clock too bright" hoping to find some sort of DIY life hack. I was really pleasantly surprised when I found out this product existed. I'm SO HAPPY that it does. I seriously don't know where my fiance' bought this alarm clock, but it has four brightness settings and they range from light house search light to surface of the sun. I cut one of these sheets and smoothed it over the display and it's AMAZING. I can still read the clock during the day, but at night, it's now just the right brightness so I can see the time, but not burn my retinas when I crack my eyes open in the middle of the night. 5No More Glaring Bedroom Lights Zzzzzzs I am a light sleeper that has been struggling with insomnia for years. My ideal sleeping condition is to have a pitch dark room. So, the glaring blue and green lights on my cable box, air purifier or electrical cords prevented me from falling asleep, sometimes waking me up in the middle of the night and when that occurred, the lights were like a subtle form of torture preventing me from falling back to sleep. I would find myself getting a sock or trying to tape paper over the lights, which were ineffective band-aids to the problem until I stumbled upon the Dim It light dimming sheets. What a brilliant idea coming up with this product. I wish I had thought of it myself! These dimming sheets work like a charm. They are like a film that adheres to your lit devices without using glue or anything leaving a sticky residue. So you can move around for best placement, remove, etc., without gunking up the device with the light. You cut the sheets of film to fit right over the areas you want dimmed. So, the one package I purchased is more than plenty. I have actually only used part of one sheet to dim all of the lights in my bedroom and am no longer bothered by having to hunt for something, anything, in the middle of the night to cover the light. The only drawback is that now I have dimmed the light on my cable box, I cannot see the time, but I would much rather have that, then the bright blue light glaring at me! Plus, it is not great for those of us with insomnia to be watching the clock all night anyway. One last bonus about the dimming sheets is that placing them over something like the cable box, does not prevent me from using the remote that is paired with the cable box, so the film does not obstruct the connection, just the annoying light. Winner! 5Thin, low profile, and adheres nicely Super bright LEDs lighting up the bedroom and car interior at night are one of the worst aspects of today's epidemic of junky Chinese products. When I first receive the package in the mail I was skeptical, I didn't think it would work that well. But when I actually applied it to the audio processor control display in my car, it worked really well! It is super thin so it hides easily. I used a blade style paper cutter to make sure that it was a perfect rectangle to fit over the display. Here are a couple photos of the difference it made. 5Great for baby monitor screeen! I actually cam back and bought 2 more! I initially bought them because the clock in the baby's nursery was too bright and bothered her. Then I put a piece over my alarm clock and eventually a piece over the super bright baby monitor. As a new mom I don't need anything extra keeping me awake! The monitor is SO much better with this dimmer sheet. The light kept me awake and it was hard to fall back asleep after looking at it. Here's a picture of it covering half the baby monitor 5*LOVE* is not too strong of a sentiment My alarm clock has a dimmer switch on it, but even when on the lowest setting it seems more like a real-life lighthouse on my nightstand. I was looking at buying an alarm lock where I could complete shut off the light. Instead, I found Dim It and bazinga (!) problem solved. I can still read the alarm clock but its glaring light no longer wakes me up. I also put a tiny bit over the light on the dashboard of my car, on the glaring light that indicates my headlights are on bright. Yep - I can still see the indicator light but I no longer have to drive with one hand on a very specific part of the steering wheel to keep the light from shining in my eyes. One package of Dim It is MUCH cheaper than a new alarm clock and new car! And more importantly, my husband no longer has to listen to me crab about the lights. :) 5
