Quality and works really well!Finally I found a sink strainer that really works and is quality. After having a variety of strainers over the years, this one is by far the best. It does cost a bit more but well worth the money. I'm very happy with this purchase!5A waste of money Someone didn't do his/her homework and did not measure the depth of the drain.It was supposed to suit *standard* drains, but it does not, in any position of the drain is plugged, I am using cable ties to keep the center rod from sliding down so that the drain remains open.A waste of money. 1Does the jobI love this design. Who knew I'd be passionate about a kitchen drain, but I like this style so much more than the other kind that you either turn the whole thing sideways or just take it out (and end up with clogged pipes). My wife didn't grow up with this style and couldn't understand why I wanted it so bad, but it really is a superior design and fits my drain perfectly. I liked it so much that I bought two more for the drains at work (though I did have to show other people how to use them). I have no idea what the original stopper was like. I had a really cheap sink strainer with the little rubber stopper thing at the bottom that started getting really cruddy. I ordered this stopper, hoping that it would fit my sink. It came in and I have to say it is the nicest stopper I have ever seen or had, and it works like a charm. It's actually pretty, surprisingly. Highly recommend5Finally! I'd picked up strainers from the local hardware store and some through Amazon that were made of thin, cheap metal. Some were not even the stated measurements. All were just junk. So, when this item arrived I was relieved. It's exactly the stated measurements, the metal is thick enough to be truly rigid, and the stopper is heavy enough that it stays in place, either when raised or lowered. The long drainage holes are also really nice. Food is much less likely to get stuck in this design than the versions with lots of little holes. So, yeah, this is a sink strainer to get (a little bit) excited about. Highly recommend.5Better than the original KohlerI bought this Everflow strainer to replace an original Kohler, which never worked well. It would always sink down and regularly got unscrewed. That is how I got to buying a new one - I lost a part.The Everflow is heavy, solid, stays open and closes well. Looking at both the Everflow and Kohler you can hardly tell the difference, except that the original feels a bit lighter - and it didn t work well.Highly recommended.5Well made, but stopper is too low even in the raised positionAs most of the reviews note, this is a well made, attractive basket, especially for the price of much more cheaply made options. However, when we put it in our sink, the water would not drain with the stopper in the raised position. Rotating the stopper to the lowered position resulted in only the slightest of vertical travel. The stopper is threaded on the post, so I removed it and extended the threads to approximately twice their original length, reinstalled the stopper and now it works perfectly. If the manufacturer would simply leave the post on the lathe for another second, the stopper would be adjustable for sinks of different depths. But for someone without a cheap tap-and-die set and the same sink as ours, this product would not work.4Delivered very promptly and in good shape. So, if you are concerned and want one that will work well, save all the packaging in case you need to send it back. 3Buy something better It does not have a good quality , by considering the price.I put this in less than a month, but two times the lower part of the strainer fell down inside the sink trap part. I did thightening the strainer basket to the lower part (lock nut & screw stem)Luckily, both time my garbage disposal was off, otherwise it may damage the disposal.Plastic washer gas very low quality. In less than a month, the washer is deteriorated. 2High quality design and construction. I'm very pleased with the quality of this stopper --- no comparison with the stopper it replaced, which costs a few dollars less but was of poor quality and broke into 3 pieces after 3 years.. My only disappointment with this stopper if that it doesn't seem to be a perfect fit for my sink drain. The actual stopper portion cannot be lifted and locked in place high enough to permit water to drain from the sink. I have to remove the stopper from the drain in order to empy water from the sink. That means I can't use the stopper as a strainer. Once the supplier got the tracking number from UPS they credited my Amazon account. Amazing!This review is for the basket only. I did not purchase the entire assembly as shown here. 5Finally One that Fits and worksAfter 20 years with the same gross sink stopper, my husband went out and bought one of those fancy kind that are kind of rubbery and stylish. Yeah, those things keep the sink water from draining completely, which means nasty ick in the sink, and don't get me started on how that rubbery stuff feels once it gets all slippery and oozy.I purchased the Everflow with confidence because the helpful diagram showed that it was EXACTLY the kind that would work in my sink, strain stuff, block the drain right, etc. Got it, plunked it in the drain and perfect fit, works like a charm, strains gunk the way it is supposed to strain gunk, and stops the sink easily. PERFECT. grab the little knob and carry that gunk to the trash and shove it back in the drain. Easy, cleaner, looks great, no more slime on your hands and allows ALL of the water to drain.I read some reviews that say it doesn't last long, but I don't care. It's not expensive, it works, and I don't have slime on my hands, I'll buy another if it dies... but it hasn't, it just sits there and does its job and that is priceless!5Cheaper than Kohler and works better.Well made. Has slots instead of round holes, but I like it better than the original Kohler and the replacement Kohler I purchased in the same order. I dislike the Kohler duostrainer and regret the hundred bucks I spent on them but they are impressive to hold. They do the worst job of holding water and it's hard to keep up with the O-rings.5
