Customer Reviews

this stuff is basically useless. If you have dry erase markers that are ...this stuff is basically useless. If you have dry erase markers that are not coming off easy, this really does not seem to help the process much. I think maybe it is too diluted to serve its purpose. What seems to work better on stubborn dry erase markers left behind is to scribble over the area with another dry erase marker than wipe it right up. 1This stuff works! This stuff just works! I have tried other brands and homemade concoctions but nothing works the same. I started using Staedtler Lumocolor Correctable Pens and haven't had to use this as much. https://www.amazon.com/Staedtler-Lumocolor-Correctable-Pens-305FWP4/dp/B004SZ0YYU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522393667&sr=8-1&keywords=staedtler+correctable+lumocolor 5Simply the best way to clean a whiteboard. A must haveIf you have a whiteboard you need this stuff. It even removes old whiteboard marker ink that has sat for a while. I have a giant (4'x8') whiteboard for business use that I let sit with formulas on it for almost a year. Rubbing alcohol worked to an extent, but I finally decided to stop being cheap and just buy a bottle of this. I am glad I did. One application for fresh, even "just wrote it" fresh ink; two applications for old crusty dry erase marks that stubbornly stain your whiteboard. Expo makes good markers, but this may be their best product. This bottle will easily last me a year, or about 200 cleanings.By the way, if you want to save money on a whiteboard you can go to Home Depot and get a 4x8 white paneling board that works excellently and you can even have it cut to size right there. This is a few hundred dollars cheaper than buying a whiteboard at an office supply store. 5This product has kept my white board as white, bright, and clean as the day I unwrapped it.When I purchased my white board, Amazon recommended this cleaner (in a smaller bottle, but I found this larger, more cost effective one). I thought, "do I really need white board cleaner?" The answer is YES. If you don't use some (or make your own) there will be a shadow of your writing when you erase it that is increasingly darker depending on the darkness of the marker, and how long you leave the writing on there. This particular cleaner has kept my white board looking as white and bright as the day I unwrapped it. In all honesty, when my bottle runs out, I plan to try to make my own (you can google a recipe). But if it doesn't do as good of a job as this, I am going to order another bottle of this exact same stuff. 5Must have for any whiteboardI actually bought this to keep at home to clean my 3 year old daughter's whiteboard easle, but I also use it routinely in the office. Unfortunately I learned the hard way with my whiteboard at work that if you don't use the correct cleaners you will destroy your whiteboard. I used sanitizing wipes with alcohol in them and they destroyed the surface of my whiteboard. Dry erasers no longer fully erase whiteboard markers and I have to use this spray or expo whiteboard wipes every time I erase the board. I ve heard that the same thing happens if you use Windex. Don't make my mistake! If you use this cleaner and maybe some occasional water you should be ok and most of your erasing can still be done with the dry eraser. Having this stuff on hand for the times you need a good cleanup will save you $ in the long run. Also this size bottle should last you for a very long time since you only use a little bit for each cleaning. 5Plain Water is Far SuperiorI'm a school teacher who gives the whiteboard heavy daily use. I decided to try this product to deal with incomplete erasures that were starting to become a problem. Here's the thing: this product works pretty well at first. You spray it on the board, hold your nose and try not to inhale the chemicals, and wipe down the board with a paper towel. Voila, clean board. But over time, the board got worse and worse and worse, until I really couldn't erase it fully even one time between chemical applications. New markers and erasers made no difference. It turns out that the cause of the worsening board conditions was simply buildup OF THIS PRODUCT... when it finally ran out, I rinsed the spray bottle and filled it with water. Which, it turns out, is AT LEAST as effective at removing dry-erase marker residue. What's more, after a few applications of plain water the board is back to being good as new, with many write/erase cycles between water spray/wipedowns. So I still use the spray bottle itself, but now there are no awful fumes, no unknown chemicals, no board-ruining buildup. They can say "non-toxic" and "green" all they want, but that doesn't mean they tell you what it *is*. Face it, even if it's made of organically-grown and voluntarily-given unicorn tears scented with (apparently) orange zest and formaldehyde, they're still charging you a pile of money to ship a plastic bottle of this stuff to you when PLAIN WATER works better, is odorless, is delivered to you for free, and is proven harmless.Best I can say is that it led me to the genius moment of putting water--dum-da-na-naaah!--into a spray bottle.Pros:- Will help remove what's on the board at first- Good spray bottle that can be re-used- Probably gives unicorns jobsCons:- Expensive- Smelly unknown chemicals- Doesn't clean as well as water- Leaves sticky buildup that impairs board use over time 1See pic - Expo product and demo on left (it just doesn't work)See my picture. The Expo product is on the left. I sprayed it on and wiped it off twice. The second time, I actually let it sit for 60 seconds and used my fingers to wipe it around, still didn't work. What's funny is, we actually use Expo markers and it still didn't clean them off. I went and got my old bottle (that I'm about out of) of Quartet BoardGear Extra Strength Marker Board Cleaner, sprayed it on and wiped it off. You can see the difference. 1A little bit goes a long way!I work in an office that has multiple white boards, and entire walls that have been turned into white walls during our renovation. That being said, we use the whiteboards often between interactive group activities and conferences in our high volume office. This is a product we have grown to use often, and I have even started to use for my whiteboard at home! While the product isn't entirely odorless, it claims to have a low odor. There is still somewhat of a chemical smell, however, with this product a little bit goes a long way! A small spray easily removes any expo markings effortlessly. The only thing I would mention is the longer the pen ink stays on the whiteboard, there is more of a chance that it will stain- so I suggest wiping your white boards daily if they are used often to keep it in pristine shape! The 22 OZ bottle will last you a long time if you end up using the product sparingly, as you don't need much of the liquid to get the job done! We are happy with this product and will continue to use it! 4Why buy a little bottle at staples for $10 when you can get a big one on Amazon for $7?You're going to go through a lot of this stuff. You own a big whiteboard that gets covered in scribblings, or maybe you own a little one at work that has high turnover. Whatever it is, you're going to need to spray that thing down because you know it comes out much better after erasing when you spray it down. This product works wonderfully, and of course it is made all the better by the volume available here. I bought a small bottle (same brand I think) at Staples for about $10. It was a matter of convenience. I just never thought to look on Amazon before, and when I needed a refill, this was the first place I came to. It was cheaper to order it and have it shipped, and it's Amazon, so they made sure it was inside a bag just in case it leaked -- it did not. The trigger and twist-seal work great, and not being a full liter, it stores more easily than your average Windex bottle due to its smaller footprint.Save some money and save some hassle: order a big one and be done with it! 5A must haveI use a large shower board from Home Depot for a white board - hello $13 giant 4' x 8' white board! I use nice, name brand markers, and while they won't erase with an eraser after being left on the board overnight, this spray, without fail, totally removes the marks--no matter how long they have been left on the board--with no elbow grease! 5
