Customer Reviews

These are NOT Reditainer! BEWARE!!Reditainer company does not seem to exist anymore. The website is taken down. These containers have a different name of manufacture on the bottom. There is no BPA free indication. The lids do not fit tightly or properly. Many of the containers and lids were cracked when I opened them. Seller is taking advantage of previous good product and 5-Star reviews. Always check recent ratings, not most helpful. 1better then expectedWhen I first got these I was very unimpressed with the quality of them. Thinking they would crack when used. I drive trucks and use them to take lunch with me. They are thinner then the ones you get from Chinese restaurants with delivery and more flexible. So far I've been using a pint and quart sized one of each for about a month now and they have both stood up well. No leaks or cracks. I carry my lunch in a back pack along with other stuff that I use while working including a hydro flask. Far better then expected. 4misleading description. holds only 28 oz for freezingBased on the description of item, I purposefully bought these to freeze soups and other foods in them. So I expected to be able to freeze 32 oz (4 cups). However, in order to allow for the food to expand when frozen, when I filled the container to the first line, it only held 28 oz, NOT 32 oz as stated. the material does seem durable and is much thicker than the typical deli containers. I'll update the review once I've had a chance to freeze food in them for multiple months. 2Great ProductIf you are looking for a product which will fully protect your frozen food, this is it. The thickness of the containers are wonderful and the price can't be beaten. I make large stock pots of chili, spaghetti sauce, collard, mustard and turnip greens, pinto beans, cabbage soup, chicken & dumplings, and beef stew. Having good freezer containers is a "must". Why cook this much food at one time to save on electricty and on the cost of buying them already prepared and then put them in thin freezer containers where you stand the risk of freezer burn and/or the containers bursting? I value my cooking efforts and the food more than to let that happen. They are just perfect for freezing so many foods, including fresh, gulf coast shrimp which we keep a good supply of. I will definitely be buying more of this size, since I am pretty well stocked up on the 16 oz. ones right now. As you can see, these containers are great for any food you want to freeze. They are really nice for storing leftovers in the refrigerator, also. The non-spill lids are wonderful. So, if you accidently knock one over, you won't have to worry about the lid popping off or having a mess to clean up. I love them and highly recommend them to anyone who wants quality containers. 5Durable - I love themI bought the package of twenty-four 32 oz (quart size) containers in November 2015. I am writing this review in April 2016. All the containers are holding up well and I've used them over and over. I primarily use them for (1) freezing homemade soup, chili, sauces, and broth; and (2) to hold raw fruits, veggies, etc that I have prepped (fresh in fridge.) I wash them in the dishwasher. I do not use them in the microwave. When I want some soup that I've frozen, I run the container under hot water a minute till I feel the food release from the sides, then plop it into a pan and heat on the stove. haven't had any problem with staining but as I said, I don't put them in the microwave. When freezing, I write the contents on the top with a sharpie, and I can rub it off with a sponge or magic eraser. I have not had any crack. For the fresh foods, they are opaque, but I can still tell whether they contain carrots, radishes, etc. These containers are cheap enough that you can give someone food in them and not feel like they have to return the container - so they are cheap enough to be considered disposable yet they are durable enough to be used over and over and over. I am happy with my purchase. 5like others, howeverI know it's premature to rate these when I just got them yesterday, but they were exactly what I was looking for. Some of the reviews commented that they were very thin and cheap quality especially being that they were a restaurant industrial sourced item. Honestly, they still were just as I figured they would be as I've worked in various food industries over the years and this is what was used.I, like others, however, wonder how it can keep the food good and go to below freezing as they say, but I guess it does. We'll see.I make my own chicken and beef stock and when I stored them in my glass canning jars in the freezer, they all broke. I even left room for expansion and did everything I was supposed to but was sad to discover they were all broken. As much as I would prefer not to store my food in plastic, this seems to still be the best alternative for now for storing broth, soups, etc. I was delighted to see that the size is actually more than a quart, so they already took into consideration the expansion - yay! I don't have to short change each container and can know that there truly is a quart in each. It's a great value for the price. At this rate, I can afford to give away the contents along with the container, which makes for a nicer treat, gift or donation.I can't wait to fill these up! 5Wonderful containers, better than glass jars!I am absolutely delighted to have found out about these containers. I make pet food for freezing--I make a LOT of pet food! I've been using quart size glass canning jars to freeze the pet food which has worked. But I tried these recently and so far they have been awesome. These containers are lighter in weight, they won't break like the glass jars can (and I may lose a whole quart of food because of broken glass), they are much easier to fill, and when I get to the bottom of the container it is much easier to scrape out the remains of food. It is a bonus that these stack inside each other. I have glass jars taking up lots of space because that's the only way to store them. I only hope that they will be able to take repeated freezing, thawing, and dishwashing. But even if they don't last quite as long as the glass jars, they are less expensive. So far, I am so happy with these! Will update if anything changes, but I think these are going to make my life much easier! 5The secret to mindless food storageI bought these containers at the very end of 2014, and I've loved them every day since. TI have both these 32 oz and 16 oz containers and love that they are standard sized, share the same lids, and are stackable. Why have super bulky food storage containers and a menagerie of lids that never seem to fit anything, when these store compactly and using them is mindless? These are perfect for freezing broth, soups, or stews or just for popping leftovers in the fridge. These containers freeze food remarkably well and clean beautifully in the dishwasher (no red stains from heavily spiced chili!). I like how tight the lids fit because you know when it's on and I've never had a problem with leaking, I've not had difficulty removing the lids; just run your hand around the edge and you'll hear and feel it unsealing. I've never had any of these containers break. In fact, my collection has only decreased because these containers are perfect (and inexpensively so) for sending home leftovers with family (it's a Thanksgiving miracle). 5Excellent fridge and freezer containersI bought 40 of the 8oz size and 36 of the 16oz size and 24 of the 32oz size. I like them very well. The containers are not flimsy, they are thick enough material to successfully hold 32oz of soup, chilli, etc without collapsing on themselves. The lids fit perfectly and tight. The smaller the size the harder it is to get the lid off which I thought could be a problem but even the 8oz isn't a real struggle. I seem to have a problem getting lids off for some reason and was concerned about some of the comments but I think they a good design. All the lids are the same size across the 8oz, the 16oz and the 32oz containers so there is no 'hunting' for the right lid.I use the 8oz for storing Jello and/or pudding in the fridge. I use the 16oz for single servings of soup, chilli, etc (freezer or fridge). I use the 32oz for storing spaghetti sauce and the like in the freezer. I've also used them to take things in my lunch to work and the lids fit so snug that I don't worry about spilling the contents. The containers have two lines on the inside - the higher line is the exact measurement for the particular size container. The lower line is a little less than the containers measurement size but is perfect if you are going to freeze it. The lower line allows exactly enough room for expansion when freezing I learned. These containers are not good for storing flat items such as chicken breasts. I continue to use my Tupperware squares and rectangles for those kind of items. I don't like using these for chicken breasts or stuffed peppers.Staining: I have had no issues with staining but then I do not place them in the microwave either. I pour the contents into a bowl or something. All the tomato stains have washed completely by hand or the dishwasher. The lids have a tendency to fly around in the dishwasher but have learned how to secure them in place and they clean just fine. Air drying is by far the best way to dry them - I also don't use the dry cycle on my dish washer - I just open the door and air dry everything to conserve electricity. To use this many containers at once you would need to have a deep freezer - it is a lot of storage capacity.I recommend these containers for quality, variety, and value. 5Great for freezing soup and other liquidsWe stored our soup in containers we got from Chinese takeout, but they became a bit brittle after being frozen and often cracked. After a few uses, I can attest that these containers are freezer worthy. The plastic, although rigid, does seem to have a little bit of give, which probably is what keeps them from cracking from being frozen. The plastic is more substantial than those Chinese takeout containers as well.I was happy to finally find a container that could be used for both short- and long-term freezer without cracking or becoming brittle. 5
