Don't expect cans to roll to you I don't understand how this can have so many great reviews... something's fishy, because this is a real PoS.This thing is difficult to put together, and actually not that space efficient. Worst of all, you put the cans in there and they don't really roll, unless there are many other cans/weight behind it. They easily flip around and fall off track.Just a real lousy piece of engineering altogether. Returned immediately. 1Awesome Storage Improvement - Great Design We use this for 13 oz. canned dog food and 15 oz. canned vegetables. It is easy to maximize pantry space due to it's modular design. I bought a second tracker and connected 2 of the sections to the first one to make a 5 row tracker. This allowed me to completely fill the shelf and still left me one row to put on the shelf below. Unless you need a tracker for larger diameter cans, purchase this instead of the 30 can tracker. I returned a 30 can unit as it was either too tight for the cans to roll with one set of spacer pegs or the cans would fall out of the track with the next bigger pegs. This one is also very little taller than the 30 can tracker. We love the sanity it has brought to the pantry! No more constantly checking expiration dates on cans. 5Good, but not what we were wanting We like that this will hold a lot of cans, but the problem is that it doesn't really work well for FIFO. When you are adding cans to it, you start from the top and they drop down to the bottom. You continue to add cans until the top row is full and then you add cans to the middle row. The middle row will not drop to the bottom until the last can on the top row has made it past the middle row. So once you fill up each section, you are unable to add more cans until the middle row has emptied, otherwise they will not be used in the correct order. While it was very easy to put together and not a bad price for how many cans it holds, the fact that it doesn't allow you to add new cans as you get a few from the store makes it kind of a pain. The whole point of the FIFO method is to make sure that you use the oldest cans first, but this one would only work if you wait until you have just a few cans left before you restock. 2Nice pantry can storage, but not true FIFO Like other reviews state the system is not a true FIFO due to the middle row not being able to roll out until all the cans on the top row are gone. It does store a lot of cans which is nice. It was easy to assemble. It doesn't do well to hold small cans of things like Tuna. It can hold a few large 28 oz type cans like Libby's large cans of pumpkin, but they won't roll for the top or middle shelves as the bars that connect the sides prevent it, but you can insert a few of them from the bottom and push them up. 3Only Partial Rotation I purchased two units and joined them together. This gave me seven rows of storage for standard 15 Oz cans. Each row has three storage levels. Cans placed in the top level rotate to the bottom, first in first out. But in my unit, cans in the middle level just sit there indefinitely. To get them to move, you have to wait until the top to bottom rotation has gone down below the middle level and then you have to push the cans in the middle level to the back, one-at-a-time to make them feed out the bottom. This means you cannot keep adding cans to the top level until you have force fed the cans in the middle level.In my units, automatic first in first out operation can only be achieved by not using the middle storage level which would be a waste of space and to a some extent, defeats the purpose for which I bought this can organizerAlthough I am disappointed, I will use the ones I already purchased as they happen to fit almost perfectly in my pantry. But I will have to find or develop my own system of rotation instead of buying more of these can trackers for long term storage as I had planned.UPDATE Sept 28,2014:-- Three years later and I'm still using these units. They may not work exactly as they should but by now, I don't notice the inconvenience as much as when they were new. 3it's a pantry gem . . . based on customer reviews, I bought one; super easy to put together though had to use my fist for a hammer on a few rods and had to grab a pair of pliers for turning rods to lock in place because hands were to large to get a grip on them through the side rails . . . foolishly thought all I had to do was load the top and they would roll down to second and first levels but soon found I needed to load middle slots first and then top. wish for 4th row so they would truly be FIFO, but can manage. Better than what I had . . .Careful, mine would not fit in cabinets of manufactured home; had to improvise. Now need one for daughter for CHristmas but afraid she would hate one this big. 5Great organizing tool! Love this organizer! It was easy to put together, and you can decide whether you want 3 equal sized openings, or if you'd rather have one smaller opening. I also like that I can add a 2nd set on and extend it into 6 openings. I plan to order another one to make it 6 wide. My pantry is so much better with this organizer! My cans aren't falling out anymore onto bare toes or curious puppy noses. I wish I had bought this years ago! 5Great for visibly, accessibility and organization LOVE IT! Works GREAT for condensed soup cans, veggie cans, mini mushroom cans and mini juice cans. Holds 14 veggie cans per section. Comes with different sized pegs for adjustable storage. Can add on multiple units. 16.25" W X 16" D X 12" H. NOT for soda cans or large soup cans. 5It's official .... I have a kitchen pantry well stock with a 6 month assortment of freeze dried foods, MREs and canned food for hurricane survival prep. All is well organized except for the cans... I recently discovered a few dozen items out-of-date and knew I needed a better system. I researched and found some very nice expensive options and then came across the FIFO Can Tracker. I was hesitant of buying a plastic canned food rack assuming the plastic would start to fold under the weight of 54 cans. Sooo.. I started with one rack to test.... I am very surprised at how durable it is. It fits regular cans well (beans, corn. Campbells soup) but does fit larger cans (Progresso soup, spaghetti sauce, etc.) ... I am on my fourth rack now and well stocked on vegis, evaporated milk, fruits, soups and other items. It is nice to be able to rotate the items out... I typically write the date on the can with a large black sharpie so I don't have to keep searching the can. OH!!!!!! And my favorite thing... the company always includes a free Air Nerds watermelon taffy with your order! They are tasty!UPDATE: The racks area a few months old now and I've noticed they have began falling in. Some of the cans get hung up. They still work fine but -1 star. 4After modifing it does what I want Wanted a storage system for cat-food that holds more than 12 cans since I buy in bulk. Gave this a shot, and after tinkering for a day made it work. Few notes:-There are only three short pegs, with which you get just one narrow row.-The fit range is listed by oz, when you really should check the diameter of the can. As you can see the 5.5 oz 9lives can will not fit into the middle row, it will go into the top but can snag on a peg sometimes.-There are large cutouts on the sides of the panels, all cans would snag on them at back, which already has congestion problem. After I applied clear packing tape to both sides (to avoid having exposed glue) the problem went way.-cans coming from double feed rows sometimes create self supporting shape in the back, so after you pull a can, new cans out the back don't rollout automatically, easily fixed with a push on cans in one of the feeding rows.-I adapted it to hold 3 oz cat-food by cutting out a cardboard panel and pushing pegs through it (used short pegs). One column held 24 freshly arrived fancy feasts plus some thad I had from before.-wanted to have it over on a shelf, should have checked dimensions. So it got stuffed nicely on an under-counter shelf, the righthand row is held together with tape and without issues dispenses 4oz canned fruit. And surprisingly outer side holds and dispenses 3oz cans without issues, so the treat food can be stored and dispensed separately (kudos for the adjustable design).Note: even non modified row had issues dispensing tomato sauce until I taped over the openings.Hopefully this was helpful to you :) 4
